Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Waynesville, NC *This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Oliver Hamish! He is an 5 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 55 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Oliver Hamish is good with older children! No younger children, because they make him nervous. He is good with the other dogs inside of the home, but is nervous around dogs outside of the home. He has bitten 3 times when someone was around his food. He has food aggression. The owner is surrendering him because of the bite incidents. They are also unable to provide the time and attention that he needs. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Oliver Hamish, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Oliver Hamish. Story
Meet Hurley. My husband and I adopted him in July of 2025 from Blue Ridge Humane Society. He was born in November of 2024, and was a stray before taken in at a shelter and then transferred to Blue Ridge. My husband and I love Hurley, but have come to the realization that we cannot properly meet Hurleys needs in our small apartment. Hurley loves his people, enjoys playing with all kinds of toys, going on walks, playing with other dogs that he knows, and cuddling with those he loves. He is potty trained and good at signaling when to go potty. Hurley has separation anxiety, and struggles with crating or being left alone. He is reactive on leash towards other dogs, but has made some improvements with our local trainer. One of the reasons my husband and I can’t keep him, is because he is fearful of most men and will growl and bark. He does fine with women, and is very lovable once he is familiar with someone. But this is a challenge and keeps us from having family visit from other states.

Story
Tugger is a really good boy with a ton of energy. He has natural herding instincts, and a playful demeanor. My work schedule does not allow me to give him the time outdoors to expel the energy he needs to get out. It breaks my heart to be in this position, but it is the right thing to do.

Story
My partner was left with her when his ex partner left. She was her emotional support animal but did not take her with when she moved out. The landlord only allowed her due to the emotional support. Due to the ex being gone the landlord needs her rehoused. Us as a couple also need her rehoused due to behavioral issues, we both work 10-12 hour shifts, she needs a special level of training that we can not provide at this time. She does have special needs she only has 1 eye and is bling in that one eye, does have food aggression. 2 years ago she had an infection and had to have one eye removed, She’s 4 years old, high energy, very loving and Clingy, a very good dog all together but we are not able to accommodate her how we feel she should be due to work and her behaviors.

Tigger was dumped as a 6 month old pup outside of brother wolf. He’s a protective boy and barks at the bears that come near our home. He’s fearless. He loves to hike and loves snuggle time. He’s just a big old doofus. He gets along with other dogs but has never had experience with cats.
