Story
And another one of the three that were brought to our vets office to be euthanized for NO good reason is ready to find a home to call his own - little Chinto. Chinto is estimated to be 7 years old and weighs 18 pounds - a small little guy that is also mostly blind - but he can see shadows and has no issues getting around He prefers it inside and we think it is possibly because he lived outside his entire life before coming to the rescue - but this boy does love some sunshine on his face. Chinto is currently in a foster home with 3 other small dogs and with proper introductions , he has done great - we do believe he would do best in a home with dogs his size - he is not really a cuddler or a lap dog but given time he may be but he wants to be in close vicinity of his people. He would be great for a person that is just wanting a dog to keep them company as he would be perfect for that. He does fine being left alone and gets so excited regardless if it is 15 minutes or 2 hours - just super excited someone is back home. He had no idea what toys were when he came to the rescue but has learned to play with them and enjoy them. He also does well going for car rides Because he is mostlyd blind sudden movements can scare him - so we recommend no small kids. He adjusted to his surroundings in his foster home quickly being blind so we know he will adjust to a new home quickly as well. We would prefer a fenced in yard for him This little man just needs a family to love and appreciate him, because he is a great little dog and for the first time in his life realized that life as a loved dog is pretty good and he is enjoying it If you are interested in adopting Chinto - please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, has had bloodwork done, microchipped, dewormed, current on monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention and we got his ear issues that had been left untreated before coming to the rescue resolved. His adoption fee is $250.00. He is being fostered in Hendersonville,NC So if you are looking for some good company - look no further - Chinto is your guy for sure. As a reminder - we are volunteer based and work on processing the applications as soon as we get them but sometimes it is taking vets offices (yes we do reference checks) a couple of days to get back to us. We also require a home visit

Story
After a run in with a bee the morning of her first scheduled spay - Roxy was cleared and spayed last week which means this amazing full of life and love little girl is ready to find a family to call her own. Roxy was found abandoned and was very emaciated but even though failed by humans - her love for people never quit shining. She is estimated to be 1-2 years old , her current weight is 45 pounds - so she is a smaller l girl and we honestly do not know what her breed it - that face and her personality screams boxer but something smaller in there as well. She is great with kids, has met a kitten and did well and Roxy would love to have other active dogs in her new forever home as she loves loves loves to play. With patience and consistency from her amazing foster Mom, Ashley, she learned housebreaking quickly. She would really benefit from an active family with kids and other dogs to play with. And she loves loves loves her toys - so toys are a must in her new home. Are you interested in adding this special girl to your family - head on over to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. Roxy is current on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, dewormed, has had a full blood panel done , a 4DX Heartworm Test and is current on her monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. Her adoption fee is $250.00 We do NOT set up meet and greets until your application has been received and reviewed. And we do not have a facility - all of our dogs are in private foster homes located in Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina.

Story
And we have another one of our amazing dogs ready to find a family to call his own - our sweet boy Montana - he just went back to the vet recently for a recheck on his ears and they are all cleared up so this boy said "Let's find my family" Montana is a 2 year old English Setter that found himself at an overcrowded shelter and no owner ever came forward so we pulled him into the rescue and this boy is so so sweet. What does Montana need - he needs an active family as this breed is known for having a lot of energy and Montana does have a lot of energy but he does know how to settle in the house and he loves to cuddle on the couch. He is fully crate trained and housebroken. He does amazing with other dogs and would benefit from having another dog in the house - he is not fostered with cats, so we are unsure of how he would do with cats - he has met kids at our events and done great with them He is a fence climber as he is a "hunting breed" and he loves to be outside and he watches everything but if he spots a squirrel or a bird - he will try to chase it - hence why he will require at least a 6ft non chain link fence or he will need to be leashed at all times when outside and he does great on a leash but of course would love a fenced in yard to run his zoomies. Montana is neutered, current on core vaccines, 4DX Heartworm tested and negative , dewormed, microchipped and is current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick medication . His adoption fee is $250.00 . Our adoption process starts with going to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and filling out our adoption application - we do check references and all dogs in potential adopters home must be current on core vaccines, current on heartworm prevention and spayed or neutered unless medically they can't be which would require a letter from your vet. Once the application is received and reviewed - his foster would call and talk to you about setting up a meet and greet at your home. As a reminder we do not have a facility - all of our dogs are being fostered in private foster homes throughout western north carolina and upstate south carolina. So lets find this boy a home to call his own - he is for sure deserving and such an amazing boy

River

Australian Cattle Dog

Male, 6 yrs 4 mos
Arden, NC
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
River was abandoned in the national forest after we had a major ice/snow storm - myself along with animal control went out to try to get him and he was so terrified - after several hours I was able to gain his trust and he jumped into my car. River is a typical heeler - super super smart, loyal but the typical heeler attitude. This boy knows many commands, sit, stay, lay down, roll over, wait - he will not even eat until you tell him he can. His most favorite thing in the whole world to do is to play ball and he will play for hours and hours. He will need an adopter that has had "heeler" experience as they honestly are a breed of their own. But if you have experience with them - you also know how amazing they are. He would make an excellent hiking partner. Absolutely NO cats - and while he does well with dogs his size that are submissive - he would not mind being the only dog and this dog is going to be loyal to you without a doubt. He is estimated to be 4 years old and weighs 70 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, current on heartworm prevention, microchipped and is a very well trained dog. If River seems like the perfect dog for you, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - that is the first step in our process. We also require references and a home visit. His adoption fee is $250.00

Story
Effie is a precious senior girl that is ready to find a family to call her own. Effie came to us from a horrible situation where she was one of twelve dogs that were living in a house that was beyond nasty - they had never been outside and were being fed just whatever was in the cabinets or refrigerator - Effie was so matted up when she came to the rescue that we did not even know if she was a male or female and she was not able to see until we shaved her down as her eyes were covered with matts of fur. Effie has really blossomed and is one of the more independent and confident dogs out of the group. She has decided that living the good life as a spoiled dog is pretty darn amazing and she loves to run and play outside. We estimate her age to be 7 years old- sometimes it is hard to tell as the neglect she suffered for years can make them appear normal and there was no way to tell her age from her teeth as they were in horrible shape and she had major dental work done after coming to the rescue. Effie does well with other dogs - she has not been around cats or small kids. She is doing well with her housebreaking but will require patience and consistency when going to a new home with a new schedule. Effie is spayed, has had her dental work done and remaining teeht cleaned. she has had a full workup with bloodwork and a urinalysis, heartworm tested and current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention, dewormed, current on vaccines and microchipped. She weights 25 pounds and is the perfect lap dog that would love to keep your lap warm If you are interested in sweet Effie - please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. We require this to be filled out and reviewed before we will set up any meet and greet - we do require vet references and and a home visit. Effie's adoption fee is $250.00 Effie said she is so ready to find a family and a home to call her own - will that be your home ?
