He came from an abusive household in his previous home. The current owner is surrendering him because he is aggressive towards her other dogs. He needs to go immediately! If you think you can provide a great home for Ranger, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Ranger. Owner’s Contact Information: Whitney at whitneylee00@gmail.com.

Story
River was abandoned in the national forest after we had a major ice/snow storm - myself along with animal control went out to try to get him and he was so terrified - after several hours I was able to gain his trust and he jumped into my car. River is a typical heeler - super super smart, loyal but the typical heeler attitude. This boy knows many commands, sit, stay, lay down, roll over, wait - he will not even eat until you tell him he can. His most favorite thing in the whole world to do is to play ball and he will play for hours and hours. He will need an adopter that has had "heeler" experience as they honestly are a breed of their own. But if you have experience with them - you also know how amazing they are. He would make an excellent hiking partner. Absolutely NO cats - and while he does well with dogs his size that are submissive - he would not mind being the only dog and this dog is going to be loyal to you without a doubt. He is estimated to be 4 years old and weighs 70 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, current on heartworm prevention, microchipped and is a very well trained dog. If River seems like the perfect dog for you, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - that is the first step in our process. We also require references and a home visit. His adoption fee is $250.00

Story
Sweet Buster - Buster was a last minute pull from the shelter because he was getting ready to be euthanized along with several others that had to be caught by animal control after their owner moved into a nursing home and none of them had been socialized or outside the home but out of all of them (we were able to save all 6 of them) Buster was the worst and the shelter could not lay their hands on him. I knew if given the proper time he would come around but he had to do it on his terms and that was never going to happen at a noisy shelter. So we loaded him up and I brought him home to foster. I gave him his space and time but would sit on the floor and talk softly to him - within 3 days he was taking treats out of my hand and by the end of the week he would crawl into my lap and lay upside down and want his belly rubbed. Today I can do anything to the little guy as I earned his trust and he will give that trust out but it will take just the right home that understands that Buster needs to do it on his terms and needs time and patience. The one thing we have learned is that Buster has a fear of men - he has been with me for months and still does not trust my husband but we know that before coming to the rescue there was a male family member that was not so kind to these dogs and Buster has not forgotten that - we are aiming to find him a home where there are no men in the house which we have done for a couple of our dogs over the years so we know it is possible. We feel like putting him in a home with a male figure is only going to make him stay on edge all the time and that is no way to live. He is a small little guy at 6 pounds and he is estimated to be a little over a year old. He has made leaps and bounds with his housebreaking but will need consistency and patience when going to a new place. He loves loves loves his toys and his cuddle round bed. He loves other animals and would benefit from another dog in learning the ropes. Buster will also require a fenced in yard as we feel that is best for him. While he has been around a child in his foster home and after time has done well - we do recommend no small children Buster is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick medication. His adoption fee is 250.00. If you are interested in Buster, please go to our website and fill out our adoption application - we will not set any meet and greets up until that application is filled out. We do require vet references and a home visit. Buster honestly is one amazing little dog and once you earn his trust - he gives you his whole heart and he is a total little love. He loves to be held like a baby and loves to have that belly rubbed. A lot of heart went into rehabbing this little guy so please read the description before filling out the application. We do not set our dogs up for failure and that is why we have certain requirements as they are with us 24/7 in our homes, so we know what would be the perfect fit for them.

Story
Sweet Ohana came to us from a horrible hoarding situation where dogs were being kept in horrible conditions and only being fed other animals feces - she came to us with horrible skin - she only weighed 30 pounds and had no idea how to be a dog - and she is blind (we do think she can see shadows) But this girl has blossomed and is now a healthy 50 pounds - she is all legs - from what we know was on the property - we think she is possibly a pointer mix and do not let her limited vision hold you back as unless we told you she was mostly blind you would not know as she does amazing. She mastered the stairs in less than 3 days. We believe she is between 3-5 years old. She loves loves loves to play and loves her toys - she is great with other dogs and wants to play and she does well with cats. She has been around kids and does great. She is now housebroken and crate trained and does awesome. Pretty good for a dog that lived in her own feces and urine for years. Ohana deserves nothing but the best and a family that will always cherish and love her - she is going to be an amazing addition to some very lucky family. She loves to smell around in the fenced in back yard and take in all the smells and we do feel like she would do better with a fenced in yard though she does well on a leash as well if you wanted to take her for walks Ohana is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, dewormed , has had a full bloodwork panel done, and current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. Her adoption fee is $250.00. We do require reference checks and a home visit - if you are interested in Ohana please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - we do not set up a meet and greet until the application is filled out

Story
Effie is a precious senior girl that is ready to find a family to call her own. Effie came to us from a horrible situation where she was one of twelve dogs that were living in a house that was beyond nasty - they had never been outside and were being fed just whatever was in the cabinets or refrigerator - Effie was so matted up when she came to the rescue that we did not even know if she was a male or female and she was not able to see until we shaved her down as her eyes were covered with matts of fur. Effie has really blossomed and is one of the more independent and confident dogs out of the group. She has decided that living the good life as a spoiled dog is pretty darn amazing and she loves to run and play outside. We estimate her age to be 7 years old- sometimes it is hard to tell as the neglect she suffered for years can make them appear normal and there was no way to tell her age from her teeth as they were in horrible shape and she had major dental work done after coming to the rescue. Effie does well with other dogs - she has not been around cats or small kids. She is doing well with her housebreaking but will require patience and consistency when going to a new home with a new schedule. Effie is spayed, has had her dental work done and remaining teeht cleaned. she has had a full workup with bloodwork and a urinalysis, heartworm tested and current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention, dewormed, current on vaccines and microchipped. She weights 25 pounds and is the perfect lap dog that would love to keep your lap warm If you are interested in sweet Effie - please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. We require this to be filled out and reviewed before we will set up any meet and greet - we do require vet references and and a home visit. Effie's adoption fee is $250.00 Effie said she is so ready to find a family and a home to call her own - will that be your home ?

Story
If you are looking for the perfect senior dog - look no further - because Leo is your boy - absolutely precious little guy that came to us along with 11 others from a horrible hoarding situation where they were all terribly neglected - we could not even tell if they were male or females - they were all matted so bad. Yes Leo is hard of hearing and has limited vision but you don't have to go through the puppy training or the destructive teenage years - he is just looking for some good company that would enjoy his company and someone that will love him through his golden years Here is what Leo's foster Dad had to say about him: Leo is a sweet little man who enjoys spending his days napping. He has some vision and hearing problems that keep him from playing or running around. He would rather just lay on the couch with his human and receive some pets. These vision problems don’t seem to keep him from finding his food bowl, this boy loves to eat. Leo seems to be housebroken and has not had any accidents in his foster home. He walks well on a leash but is slow due to his vision problems. Leo would fit in well in a quiet home. Someone who would just let him take his naps and enjoy a soft bed and some much deserved pets and love. Leo has been neutered and had extensive dental work done that was much needed, he has had a senior bloodwork panel done and everything is great, he is vaccinated, heartworm tested and current on prevention, dewormed and microchipped His adoption fee is 250.00 - if you are interested in Leo - please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - WE DO NOT SET UP MEET AND GREETS UNTIL THE APPLICATION HAS BEEN FILLED OUT AND REVIEWED - WE DO VET REFERENCES AND HOME VISITS Age is just a number and this boy has so much more love to give and is ready to find a family to call his own and he so deserves that
