Story
Zuko was adopted in 2021 from an accidental litter near my home. He was born in August, and turns 4 this year. Zuko needs room to run, and people to cuddle him. He is a lover of a dog and enjoys being loved on. He loves toys, balls and bones. Zuko is high energy, but low maintenance. He is not suitable for an apartment, because he will bark when he needs to go out. Im looking for someone who is willing to play with him, take him to walk or have a fenced in yard/outside area he is able to run in. He gets along with our other dog, but unfortunately can be dog reactive with others. He has had no issues with the child in the home or children outside the home. He has always been an anxious dog but has never shown any signs of aggression due to it, he just runs away from things he doesnt like. He is caged trained, potty trained, and eats dry food. Zuko is behind on shots.

Story
When this dude came into the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH earlier this summer, we named him Diablo, because he had that certain something-something about him that reminded us of a devilish kid. Then we found out that his own owner brought him to the pound claiming to have found him and that his name was SCRAPPY, so we changed it. But the fact remains that SCRAPPY is a bit devilish. Kind of like if he was a kid, he might win the Class Clown award. He’s loaded with personality! SCRAPPY is housebroken. He’s good with kids, but doesn’t like cats. He’s good with most dogs. Not only did he live with a few, he’s fathered at least 3 litters of pups that we know of, the last being born at the pound and are now in a foster home with their mom. Unfortunately for SCRAPPY, his one night stand days are over. He’s been neutered, vaccinated and treated for Lyme. SCRAPPY would love to have a family of his own. He’s a happy guy whose tail never stops wagging. He loves to snuggle and be with people. His bark can go from sounding like a chihuahua with laryngitis to a deep rumble you’d expect from a dog twice his size. It just depends on what he’s barking at Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907 Open: Monday-Friday 10am-4pm; Saturday 9am-2pm; Closed Sundays and holidays. Out of state adoptions welcomed. Applications are available at the pound and online at harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers, org. Apple users must access our website and submit application using Google, not Safari. $40 adoption fee. 740-942-4080

Story
This magnificent boy is BEAU. He is a little over a year and was surrendered to out pound when his owner moved and didn't take him with her. BEAU's mother was a Husky; his dad was a one stand night so we don't know who he is. Don't be fooled by BEAU's dapper looks-beneath his beauty is a class clown who will give you hours of entertainment. BEAU is a firm believer in having fun and the world is his playground. It's sometimes easy to let him get away with things because he's so adorable, but this boy does need a firm owner who will show him how to e a great dog. BEAU spent much of his life outside before coming to our pound. That said, with the exception of sometimes trying to dance in his food bowl or water bucket, he does keep his kennel pretty clean and uses his doggy door to do his business. BEAU loves other dogs, is good with kids and has never met a cat. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Story
Allow us to introduce you to SISSY, a 2 year old Chow Chow who was darting across a busy highway when she was found. She was with another larger Chow Chow, who sadly was hit by a vehicle and didn't survive. SISSY is a petite girl with the most beautiful face and intelligent eyes. She is a little hesitant upon first meeting someone and is easiy startled, but she is a lovebug who gives as many kisses as she gets. However, she is a Chow Chow and they can be quirky, tempermental and protective of their family so we are looking for a Chow savvy family for SISSY.
