RONALD, a handsome devil dog was found on 250 before coming to our pound. We believe him to be an Aussie/Lab mix. RONALD is full of energy and spunk. He has a great personality--one that would probably label him as a class clown if he were a kid in school. He is very treat motivated and will obey for one. RONALD loves to run and play. His favorite toy is a ball and he will chase it longer than your arm will allow you to throw it for him and that's ok, because he will throw it up in the air and run after it. RONALD can be a little testy around other male dogs, but seems to do better with female dogs. He loves every person he meets. This boy is not a couch potato and would do best with an active family, especially since he is young (around a year). Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. MUFFIN, an 8 and a half year old Chow Chow mix came to our pound when her mom and dad both passed away. MUFFIN spent her life in an outside kennel so she will need some housebreaking tips. MUFFIN is a little timid when she first meets people she doesn't know, but once she warms up, she is sweet and affectionate. She loves hot dogs and chicken nuggets so if you want to win her love quickly, ply her with her favorites and you'll have a friend for life. We don't know about her vetting history, but while she was being cared for by a neighbor, she was taken to the vet and she was put on preventatives. MUFFIN would do best in a quiet home since she has not met kids, cats or other dogs. At the pound, she will bark at other dogs and when they ignore her, she stops. She would love to be able to leave the noise and confusion of the pound and have her own quiet spot with a family. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907. Story

BUDDY, a 6 year old Boxer mix was surrendered to our pound when neighbors complained that he was allowed to wander and trampled in their gardens. His former owner didn't believe in tying him up or putting him on a leash so BUDDY was surrendered to us instead. BUDDY is a great dog and while he may not know it, his owner did him a big favor. BUDDY was an outside dog who slept in the barn at night so now, he will get the opportunity to live inside with a family. BUDDY is the sweetest boy who is very affectionate. He loves people and will be your shadow. He is good with kids and other dogs. We don't know about cats. Because BUDDY lived outside and isn't housebroken, he has been taking part in the Cell Dog Training Program and the Belmont Correctional Institution in neighboring Belmont County where he is learning basic commands and housebreaking. He already is well-behaved and walks like a true gentleman on a leash. BUDDY is available for adoption while he is training. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Story

COSMO came to our pound when his owner brought him and his 2 sisters to us as strays. He was way too thin, flea-infested, and missing most of his fur. Look at this guy now! He is fully vetted and ready for some forever love. COSMO is a little shy when he first meets people, but once he's comfortable, his personality shines. He is currently part of the Cell Dog Training Program at the local state prison where he is learning basic obedience and his trainer says he is doing quite well! He loves all the other dogs there and would probably enjoy having his own brother or sister. We don't know how COSMO would do with cats. COSMO's two sisters have already been adopted living great lives. Now it's COSMO's turn. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. We would like to introduce you to BAILEY. She is an American Staffy/Lab mix who came to our pound as a stray. She is about 3 years old and obeys commands. BAILEY is the sweetest girl. She loves people and loves attention. She is gentle, takes food and treats gently, walks well on a leash and keeps her kennel clean. When she is in the office with us, she asks to go out when she needs to. BAILEY has been with us now over a week and we have yet to hear her bark. Of course this doesn't mean that she won't bark, but she is calm, patient, and loving. She sits in her kennel and waits like a lady to be fed. She doesn't join in the mayhem when all the other dogs are demanding food and attention; she patiently waits her turn. BAILEY doesnt react at all to the other dogs, but if you have one, a meetngreet will still be necessary. She has met older children and has been fine with them, but we don't know about little kids or cats. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. This handsome German Shepherd is OTTO. He is 3 months old and already weighs 48 lbs. OTTO is going to be a big guy! Mom was a black and sable German Shepherd and Dad was a white German Shepherd. OTTO is a beautiful cream colored boy. He is affectionate and friendly. Because he has had no training and he is going to be big and strong, OTTO is taking part in the Cell Dog Training program at Belmont Correctional Institution in St. Clairsville, OH. We are accepting adoption applications at this time and will schedule a meetngreet at the prison with an approved adopter after OTTO has been there a few weeks.
