Story
Leo is a 3-year-old golden retriever with a gentle, affectionate, and friendly personality. I got him as a puppy, and he has been a loving and loyal companion ever since. He enjoys going on walks, playing fetch, and spending time around people. We are looking for a caring and responsible home for Leo as we are relocating abroad and unfortunately cannot take him with us. He would do best with a family or individual who can give him plenty of attention, love, and care. Leo is well behaved, intelligent, and incredibly sweet. He brings joy to everyone he meets.

Story
Hi, I’m Atticus—professional explorer, part-time detective of interesting smells, and full-time good boy looking for a fresh start. I came to the shelter through no fault of my own (life happens, I get it), and now I’m ready to find a home where I can stretch my legs, follow my nose, and maybe sneak a treat or two along the way.On walks, I like to keep things interesting. Sometimes I stroll politely, and other times I have places to be and will put a bit of muscle into it. I’m working on that, though, and I respond well to patient guidance and positive reinforcement. Give me time, consistency, and a comfy harness, and I’ll get the hang of it.I’m a smart guy who knows “sit” and will happily take treats—enthusiastically, so watch your fingers or toss them my way (I`m pretty good at catching them!). I love toys and will bounce around like a goof when I’m excited, happily chasing and trading them. I’m not overly clingy with affection, but I enjoy being near my people and taking in the world with them.I can be a bit of a loud announcer when new people or dogs show up, but it’s mostly just my way of saying, “Hey! What’s going on over there?” Once I’ve had a moment to check things out, I warm up and show my friendly side. I’ve met other dogs and tend to be playful, respectful, and pretty tolerant—even if they’re a bit unsure. With proper introductions, I’d likely enjoy having some dog pals. I’ve also lived with cats before and with proper introductions to dog savvy cats, I could likely live with them again. Now, let’s talk about my one quirk: my feet are off-limits. I’m sensitive about them and will let you know if I’m uncomfortable, so I’m looking for someone who understands that and is willing to work on gentle, cooperative care over time. In the meantime, we can get creative with nail care—teamwork makes the dream work.I’d do best in a home with a yard to explore and people who can keep up with my curious, active nature. I can be vocal sometimes so apartment living is not my thing. Older, dog-savvy kids would be a better match for me since I can get a little jumpy when I’m excited. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who will keep you moving, make you laugh, and occasionally remind you that squirrels are very serious business, I might just be your guy.

Story
Clementine is a gentle soul who’s still learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. This Mastiff mix came to us as a stray, so her past is a bit of a mystery—but it’s clear she’s feeling unsure and will need a patient, understanding adopter who’s willing to give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell. At first, Clementine may seem shy and fearful, preferring to observe from a distance. But with a little patience and a lot of kindness, her true personality begins to shine. Once she feels comfortable, she transforms into a sweet, wiggly girl who enjoys affection and absolutely lights up for treats.Clementine appears to be curious about calm, respectful dogs and may do well with a compatible canine companion. Her history with cats is unknown. While we’re not sure how she feels about children, she may be okay with respectful kids who understand her need for space and can let her warm up at her own pace. Busy or loud environments—especially with young, energetic children—may be overwhelming for her.Clementine is looking for a quiet, loving home where she can build confidence and form strong bonds. If you have a gentle heart and the patience to help a shy dog blossom, Clementine just might be your perfect match.

Story
Hi, I’m Benji. I’m a very large gentleman with an even larger collection of feelings, most of which currently revolve around “what was that noise?” and “should we maybe… leave?”I’ll be honest with you—I’m a sensitive soul. New places and sudden movements can make me jumpy, and I tend to keep my ears back, my tail tucked, and my eyes scanning like I’m in a spy movie I didn’t audition for. I might hesitate at first, put on the brakes during walks, or try to politely suggest we exit the building immediately. But if you give me a moment (and maybe a piece of freeze-dried salmon), I’ll gather my courage and keep going. I do walk nicely on leash, though I’m a big boy with the strength to pull if I get worried, so I’ll need someone steady on the other end who can help me feel safe and continue my training.Once I realize you’re not here to ruin my day, I’m actually very sweet. I might not climb into your lap right away, but I’ll lean into you for comfort when I’m unsure—think of me as a “side hug” kind of guy. I let people handle my paws, check my ears, and give me pets all over, even if I’m a bit wiggly about it at first. I know how to sit, and while I’m currently too stressed to show off much more, I’m a smart cookie who will learn with patience and encouragement.I can be a bit unsure around new people and dogs, sometimes barking to say, “Hey, I need space!” but I don’t mean any harm. With calm introductions, I’ve shown I can coexist just fine, especially with relaxed, respectful dog friends. I’ve lived with other big dogs before and did well, and I’ve also lived with kids—though due to my size and occasional clumsy enthusiasm, I might accidentally knock over the smaller humans just by turning around.A few important things about me: I don’t love car rides yet (they make me nervous), I may bark at things passing by the yard, and I have been known to sample items that are… not technically food. So I’ll need guidance, supervision, and some positive reinforcement to help me make better life choices.I’m not suited for apartment living—I need a quieter environment where I can decompress and build confidence at my own pace. What I really need is a patient, understanding human who sees past my nerves and recognizes the very good boy underneath. Someone who will celebrate my small wins, help me feel safe, and remind me that the world isn’t quite as scary as I think it is.I’ve been here before as a puppy and had to come back

Story
Hi, I’m Kiko—and if you’ve got a soft spot for the shy, sensitive types, we might just be perfect for each other.I’ll be honest, new situations can feel a little overwhelming for me at first. I might duck my head or hang back while I figure things out, especially if hands come reaching over me too quickly. But if you give me a moment and let me come to you at my own pace, you’ll see my true self shine through. Before long, I’m melting into chin scratches, leaning in for bum rubs, and even climbing right into your lap for cuddles. Once I trust you, I really trust you.I’m a smart young guy who already knows “sit” and is very motivated by treats (seriously, snacks are the way to my heart). I walk nicely but can pull a bit, and I do much better in a harness since collars make me cough. I’m still learning about toys, but I’m curious and open to trying new things with the right encouragement. When it comes to other dogs, I prefer polite, respectful friends who don’t come on too strong. I can feel a bit unsure with pushy introductions, but with the right match, I’m happy to walk and coexist calmly. I’ve also lived with cats and enjoy playful interactions, especially if they’re confident and dog-savvy.Because I can be nervous and have a history of reacting when overwhelmed, I’m looking for an experienced home—someone who understands dog body language and will advocate for me, helping me feel safe instead of pushing me too far too fast. Older kids or very dog-savvy families would be best for me, and a quieter home (no apartments, please) will help me settle in and build my confidence.I may start off as the quiet, unsure one in the room—but give me patience, kindness, and a little time, and I promise you’ll discover a deeply affectionate, loyal, and loving companion who just needed someone to understand him.

Story
Meet ZEUS (yes, that Zeus… but currently in “gentle giant figuring life out” mode)Hey… hi. I’m Zeus. I know, big name, big presence… but truthfully? I’m still learning how to be the mighty guy everyone expects me to be.Life’s been a little confusing for me lately. I came from a home where things changed, and suddenly I found myself here. I didn’t get the chance to meet a lot of people or other animals before, so the world can feel… kinda big and overwhelming. I might not always know what to do right away—but I’m trying. I really am.Right now, my ear isn’t feeling the best (it’s been bothering me for a while) BUT the nice doctors here have been treating it more and more and day by day I`m starting to feel better. In case I seem a little off or sensitive, that’s why. I’ve got this cute little head tilt going on—adds character, if you ask me—but I’d really love a home that can help me feel better and comfortable again and continue good care for me moving forward. When I’m out on walks, I’ll be honest… I’m strong. Like, “Zeus the thunder god” strong. If I see something interesting, I might try to lead the adventure myself. But here’s the thing—I LOVE treats. Seriously. You’ve got snacks? I’ve got potential. With someone patient and consistent, I could learn a lot and become an amazing walking buddy.Other dogs? That’s still new territory for me. I’ve had a couple of meet-and-greets, and I’m not quite sure what to think yet. Sometimes I feel unsure, sometimes I settle in once I get a chance to sniff and understand. I’ll need slow introductions and someone who can help me learn that other dogs aren’t so scary. At home, I mostly understand my potty routine, but I might need a bit of help sticking to a schedule—especially at night. Think of me as a work in progress with a really good heart.Underneath it all, I’m a sweet boy. A big, soft, slightly unsure guy who just needs someone to show him the ropes. Someone strong, patient, and kind. Someone who sees past the uncertainty and knows there’s a loyal, loving companion in here just waiting to come out.If you give me guidance, I’ll give you everything I’ve got.— Zeus
