Story
Lilly is an obedient, loving, and loyal dog. She is about 6 years old now. We were not given information about her birth so we guessed. Lilly is house trained and full of love. She enjoys cuddling and is a quiet dog. She loves to play with other dogs and is extremely tolerant of children of all ages, but works best with children over the age of 5. She will be excited to see you EVERY TIME you arrive home, waiting at the front door with her tail wagging. She loves to give hugs. She will get up on her hind legs and let you hug her as if she was human. Lilly could use some work and guidance to go on walks. Lilly has separation anxiety and will get into things while you are away. My family has become so busy over the years and it just is not fair to Lilly to stay in her kennel for the amount of time we are away from home. Perfect dog for those at home often. She is content and well behaved when owner is home. Goes in her kennel when requested. Very loyal and loving!

This is freya we got her when she was 8 weeks old she is the most lovable puppy and her favorite thing is to give hugs we got her when we had stable house and a big backyard for her to play in but due to complications in life we have had to move around a lot now she has no room to be a puppy and my new landlord will no let us keep her it breaks my heart seeing her so sad that she can’t run around and have fun like she used to she needs a good loving home who loves hugs as much as she does she’s a fun energetic 5 month old puppy who needs a energetic family to run and play with her she’s very polite and quiet for her age but doesn’t get scared to speak her mind while she’s playing around she is also the most attention seeking puppy and loves to try and curl up by your face any chance she can freya doesn’t show that side easy as she is a bit shy at first

Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Hazel would love nothing more than life with an athletic family to take her on runs, hikes or to the lake. She is a young adult with a good natured personality, which is likely what helped her survive her previous owner. Hazel lived in a "pay by the week" motel room in Southgate for almost a year. Her owner eventually abandoned her in that room. She deserves a responsible person who will see having a companion like Hazel as the honor it is. Interested in meeting or adopting Hazel? Please submit an application through our website at wacshelter.com. * Go to www.wacshelter.com * CLICK THE "APPLY ONLINE" BUTTON FOR AN ONLINE APPLICATION! :) * You will get an email confirmation * Once your application has been processed (that can take 1-3 days) a volunteer will call or email with any questions. * We set up a time with you to meet the animal you've applied to adopt! We look forward to meeting you! Please email us at wacvolunteers@gmail.com with any additional questions!

Story
Libby is a two-year-old Caucasian Shepherd that was found as a stray. She does have a permanent health condition that makes her Special Needs. We noticed right away that she has a strange gait and we were concerned, so she saw a specialist. The tests showed some undetermined neurological issues and arthritis, as well as dysplasia in all four limbs. This causes her to walk in a wobbly way. These things do not stop this determined, lovable girl ,though. She will &#194&#147run&#194&#148 around the yard and play with the kids, and chew on bones all day long. She is a very unique dog that will need a particular home to spend the rest of her life in. There are some specific requirements for her to safely walk aruond. Minimal stairs, and carpet or a lot of area rugs. The home will also need a gated yard with open access to the door, such as a sliding door, French doors, or a door that is not on a landing or down steps. Most importantly, she needs a home with all the love and kisses to give to her! Regular trips to the groomer Libby is great with kids and has been in her foster home for a few months with 9, 7, and 3 year old kids. She also is currently living with two other large breed dogs. She would likely do best in a home with non guardian breeds, and has not been around smaller dogs. She has only been around cats once that we know of, and she didn't seem like a huge fan of them. Libby is currently on an anti-inflammatory medication twice a day, potentially for the rest of her life, cost is around $60-$70 a month. She is a big girl and with that also comes lots of food. She eats about 7-8 cups of food a day, and the water bowl will always need refilling. Libby is just a big cuddly bear that needs all the love she can get. Please contact us if you have questions or would like an application to adopt. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**April 25, 2024, 12:46 am
