Story
Ahh… come sit with me a moment, won’t you? My name is Bowser, and I am an old soul in a very large body. A senior gentleman, if you please. The kind who prefers a leisurely walks in the park, spending the day resting in bed, and soaking up every bit of attention from those lucky enough to know me. People tell me I`m good company! Now, I should clear something up right away: I am an XXL fellow. A grand, towering lad. My photos try their best, but they simply cannot capture the presence of me. When I stand beside you, you will understand. With this size comes strength, and when I go for my beloved walks, I can be a bit… enthusiastic. The leash and I are still negotiating our relationship and I have been working hard on my leash skills with volunteers. I do love my strolls, though, and nothing makes me happier than fresh air and the world passing by. Despite my silvering years, I still have plenty of wiggle left in these old bones. When excitement strikes, I may forget my manners and pop up to say hello, purely out of joy, I assure you. And yes… I do have opinions, especially when treats are involved. If I feel I am being ignored, I may politely (or not-so-politely) remind you with my voice. What can I say? I like to talk. A gentleman must advocate for himself, after all.I am looking for a home that understands both my size and my heart - someone strong enough to handle my body, patient enough to earn my trust, and kind enough to love a big, silly old boy who still believes life has good chapters left to tell. I would prefer to be the only pet in your home, and I think in my senior years I deserve to get what I want! If you have room in your home, and your heart, for a towering gentleman like me, I would be honored to spend my golden years by your side.

Story
Meet Houdini True to his name, Houdini has quite the story. This handsome 7-year-old Toy Poodle was found as a stray after spending more than three weeks on the run, bravely surviving on his own. While he is now safe, his time as a stray has left him feeling uncertain about the world, and he`s looking for a special person who can help him learn that people can be kind and trustworthy.Houdini is a sensitive soul who takes comfort in having his best friend, Minnie, by his side. The two are deeply bonded, and Minnie gives him the confidence and emotional support he needs to navigate new situations. Because of their close relationship, Houdini and Minnie are looking for a home together. While people can be scary to him at first, there is a sweet little dog underneath all that worry. Food and treats are the quickest way to his heart, and with patience and consistency, Houdini begins to let his guard down. Once he feels safe, he will accept—and even enjoy—gentle pets from the people he trusts.Houdini is especially fearful of leashes and sudden attempts to reach for or grab him. His adopter will need to understand that trust cannot be rushed and that every small step forward is a victory. He is looking for someone who will celebrate those moments and give him the time he needs to blossom.Because Houdini has a history of running and remains a significant flight risk, his future home must have a securely fenced yard. Extra care will be needed whenever doors or gates are opened to keep this little escape artist safe.Houdini`s history with children and cats is unknown. Due to his timid nature, any children in the home should be calm, gentle, and respectful of his boundaries. Older children or teenagers who understand how to give a shy dog space would likely be the best fit.Houdini may not be the dog who runs into your arms on day one. He may watch from a distance, quietly deciding whether the world is safe. But for the person willing to earn his trust, the reward will be watching a frightened little dog discover that he is finally home. Alongside his beloved Minnie, Houdini is ready to start the next chapter of his story—with patience, love, and a family who sees the brave heart behind those cautious eyes.

Story
Atlas here. The tall, handsome shepherd with the intense stare and the dramatic “stranger danger” commentary package included at no extra charge. I take my job of supervising the world very seriously, and sometimes I can come in a little… strong. Okay, very strong. But underneath all the barking and tough-guy energy is a smart young dog still figuring out that not every new person, sound, or situation is actually a top-secret security threat. The truth is, once I decide you’re one of my people, I’m loyal to the core. I want to be near you, learn with you, and tackle life as a team. I’m active, intelligent, and always paying attention, which means I’ll thrive with someone who understands shepherd brains and appreciates that I’m not the kind of dog who comes pre-programmed and effortless. I need guidance, patience, and someone confident enough to help me feel safe while I learn the world isn’t quite so suspicious.I can be particular about certain handling and I appreciate people who respect my space and listen to what I’m comfortable with. Building trust with me is important, and when you do, you’ll see a completely different side of me emerge. I’m not looking for someone to “dominate” me — I’m looking for someone steady, experienced, and kind who can help me channel all this big shepherd energy into being the best version of myself. If you’ve got an active lifestyle, are shepherd savvy, and has room in your heart for a young dog with huge potential and an even bigger personality, I just might be your guy. Bonus points if you appreciate a loyal shadow who will proudly patrol the house like it’s his full-time career.

Story
If you’re looking for a dog who will treat you like the greatest celebrity on Earth, allow us to introduce Tasha.Tasha is a one-year-old mixed breed sweetheart whose heart is much bigger than her confidence. New situations, hallways, and doorways can be pretty suspicious in her opinion. Is that hallway safe? Where does that door go? Why is that trash can suddenly over there? These are the important questions Tasha believes deserve careful consideration.Thankfully, while the world can be a little scary, people are absolutely her favorite thing. Tasha warms up quickly and once she decides you`re a friend, get ready for full-body wiggles, enthusiastic kisses, and a level of devotion usually reserved for loyal sidekicks in adventure movies. She firmly believes that pets, cuddles, and telling her she`s a good girl should be a full-time job.Tasha is looking for a patient family who can help her build confidence at her own pace and show her that new things aren`t quite as terrifying as she thinks they are. Because hallways are one of her biggest worries, she is not suited for apartment living and would do best in a home where she can avoid navigating shared corridors. She is also too fearful of other dogs to share her home with one and would prefer to soak up all the attention herself. Her history with cats is unknown. While Tasha hasn`t been around children that we know of, her love of people makes us think she could do well with dog-savvy kids who understand that sometimes brave girls need a little extra patience and encouragement.Tasha is searching for someone who will help her face the world one baby step at a time, spoil her shamelessly with affection, and celebrate every little victory along the way. In return, she`ll provide endless wiggles, sweet kisses, and the unwavering love of a dog who thinks you`re the best thing she`s ever discovered.

Story
Hi, I’m Saeris, I came to the shelter a little worse for wear—underweight, unsure, and keeping a close eye on everything around me. Despite my rough start, I`ve come a long way. I was a bit nervous about meeting new people when I first arrived at the shelter, but now that I`m more comfortable here I make fast friends with everyone I meet! I’m very food-motivated (honestly, food is my love language), which has made training a big success. I know my basic commands, I’m housetrained, and I’ve been working really hard on my leash skills—I’ve come a long way and continue to improve every day. I do have a bit of a “help yourself” attitude when it comes to unattended food (old habits…), so keeping counters clear is part of my continued training plan. But hey, I’m smart, eager, and very willing to learn. I love car rides—windows down, ears flapping, main character energy. I also love a good cuddle session. If you’re sitting, I’m probably trying to be as close as physically possible. I’m the kind of dog who just wants to be loved, and if you give me that, I’ll give it right back tenfold. I’m a volunteer favourite for a reason—they’ve seen how far I’ve come and just how sweet I truly am. I love to show off my goofy side and could even live with another friendly dog that matches my play style!

Story
Meet Stevie, an 8-month-old mixed breed with big feelings, big energy, and an even bigger zest for life!Stevie approaches every day like she`s just discovered that fun exists and she intends to experience all of it immediately. Toys? Amazing. Treats? Incredible. Adventures? Sign her up. This young girl is full of enthusiasm and is looking for a dog-experienced family that can help guide her through the final stages of puppyhood. When Stevie first arrived, she was a shy and nervous youngster who wasn`t quite sure what to make of the world. Since then, she has blossomed into a friendly, affectionate dog who is eager to meet people and even more eager to earn snacks. Stevie is highly food motivated and loves learning, making training both rewarding and entertaining for everyone involved.Like many teenage dogs, Stevie can sometimes get a little too excited about life. When her enthusiasm overflows, she may become jumpy or mouthy, so her future family should be prepared to continue teaching her impulse control and appropriate ways to express her excitement. The good news? Stevie is not a perpetual whirlwind. With proper exercise, enrichment, and opportunities to use her busy brain, she settles nicely in the home and is happy to relax after her needs have been met.Stevie enjoys the company of other dogs and could potentially live with a canine companion, but they should be playful, tolerant, and willing to put up with her enthusiastic `best friend on day one` approach to socializing. She is currently unknown with cats. Because of her mouthy puppy habits, she would be best suited to a home with teens or adults. If you`re looking for a fun-loving, toy-chasing, treat-earning sidekick who is ready to learn and grow with you, Stevie might just be your perfect match. She brings the energy, the personality, and the entertainment—you bring the treats and the patience, and she`ll meet you halfway.
