Story
Hi… I’m Max.I’m a gentle-hearted guy who’s still learning that the world isn’t as scary as it sometimes feels. I’m the kind of dog who watches first, thinks second, and maybe comes over third—especially in new places. I try my best, but new faces, new rooms, and new routines take me a little time to understand. When I’m nervous, I might hesitate, step back, or hide for a moment… but if you speak softly and give me space, I start to melt. Once I know you’re safe, I’ll slowly lean in, sit by your side, and even nudge my head under your arm to ask for more affection. I may look unsure on the outside, but inside I’m hoping for someone kind and patient who sees the sweet dog trying his best.I’m still working on feeling confident out in the world—sometimes I pull or get a little panicked on walks—but I listen well and redirect easily. I’ve met calm dogs and gentle people and done just fine once I’ve had a moment to settle. I warm up to men too, I just need them to go slow and let me approach on my terms. What I want most is a quiet, understanding home where I can decompress, take things one step at a time, and bond at my own pace. Give me patience, reassurance, and a little time, and I’ll give you all the love I’ve been holding onto. I really do want to trust—I just need the right person to help me get there.

Hi. Hello. Sup. I’m Biggie.I’m short, stocky, built like a coffee table with legs, and I cruise through life in full low-rider mode. I may look like a tough guy (I am), but don’t be fooled—I’m mostly just vibes, enthusiasm, and a single brain cell doing its best. When we first meet, I might act a little standoffish. New people and new places? Suspicious. I need a minute to assess the situation. But once I decide you’re cool? Oh buddy. I love you. Deeply. Loudly. With my whole body. Prepare for full-contact affection and zero personal space. At heart, I’m a wild child. When I’m comfortable, I turn into the life of the party—zoomies, goofy grins, and “watch this!” energy included. I’m very high-energy and need an active human who’s ready to keep up with my antics and help me burn off all this enthusiasm.I’ve lived with older kids and cats before and did just fine. I really light up when another dog is around, so I’d love a canine friend to hype me up—though it’s not a dealbreaker if you’re ready to be my main entertainment. If you’re looking for a funny, affectionate, meathead low-rider who starts off cool and ends up obsessed with you… congratulations. You found me.

Story
Ahh… come sit with me a moment, won’t you? My name is Bowser, and I am an old soul in a very large body. A senior gentleman, if you please. The kind who prefers a slow introduction, a soft voice, and a bit of patience before opening his heart. I may seem a touch unsure at first—new places and new faces make me pause—but give me time, and I promise you’ll see just how sweet and tender I truly am.Now, I should clear something up right away: I am an XXL fellow. A grand, towering lad. My photos try their best, but they simply cannot capture the presence of me. When I stand beside you, you will understand. With this size comes strength, and when I go for my beloved walks, I can be a bit… enthusiastic. The leash and I are still negotiating our relationship. I do love my strolls, though, and nothing makes me happier than fresh air and the world passing by.Despite my silvering years, I still have plenty of wiggle left in these old bones. When excitement strikes, I may forget my manners and pop up to say hello—purely out of joy, I assure you. And yes… I do have opinions, especially when treats are involved. If I feel I am being ignored, I may politely (or not-so-politely) remind you with my voice. A gentleman must advocate for himself, after all.I am looking for a home that understands both my size and my heart—someone strong enough to handle my body, patient enough to earn my trust, and kind enough to love a big, silly old boy who still believes life has good chapters left to tell. If you have room in your home—and your heart—for a towering gentleman like me, I would be honored to spend my golden years by your side.

Story
Hi, I’m Levi, and I’m 3 years old. Once I feel safe, I’m an incredibly sweet, wiggly, and affectionate boy who loves spending time with my people. I’m smart, playful, and very food-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. I enjoy my walks, I’m good on leash, and I absolutely love car rides—adventures are one of my favourite things. I’ve got plenty of energy to burn and would thrive in a home that’s ready for walks, training, enrichment, and quality time together. Apartment living isn’t the right fit for me; I do best with space, routine, and a person who’s committed to helping me continue building confidence. I’ll be honest right from the start: I can be a bit of a shy guy when I first meet new people. New humans—especially the ones wearing hats (seriously… what are those?)—can make me unsure, so I might bark while I take a moment to figure things out. I just need time, patience, and kindness to feel safe. When I first came to the shelter, I was pretty nervous, but I’ve made great progress since then, and my personality continues to blossom with consistency and trust. I can be a bit vocal at times, whether it’s with people, other animals, or objects that definitely moved when I wasn’t looking. I’m still learning how to feel confident in the world, and with continued socialization and a human who understands sensitive pups like me, I know I can really shine. Loud, unpredictable, chaotic homes aren’t my favourite. Tiny, boisterous kiddos can be overwhelming for my sensitive heart, so I’d do best in a calm home with respectful teens or adults who appreciate structure and predictability. If you’re patient, understanding, and ready to give a loving dog the chance he deserves, I promise I’ll repay you with loyalty, affection, and plenty of goofy moments. I am an Overlooked pet, which means I have been here for an extended period of time (longer than most of my friends) waiting for my forever home. For this reason, my adoption fee is up to you ($30 admin fee still applies)!

Story
R-ruh… h-hi there. I’m Scooby. Y-yes, that Scooby… but I’m a little quieter than the cartoon guy. I came in as a stray and, r-really, the world was super scary for me at first. New noises, new people, new smells—zoinks, it was a lot. I’m still a bit shy in new places and around new folks, so sometimes I’ll freeze up or quietly scoot away until I feel safe. Good news though! I’ve been living in a foster home for a few weeks now, and even though it took me some time to warm up, my foster says I’m doing r-really well. Once I know you, I turn into a big softie. I love cuddling, going for gentle walks, and when I’m feeling brave, I like to run around and play too. I just need patience and calm vibes so I can show you my best Scooby self. If new people come into the house, I might go “ruh-roh” and hide until I know everything’s okay. And if I go home with another dog, they need to be calm, respectful, and willing to let me take things slow. No rushing this Scoob—I need time to sniff things out and feel safe. I don’t exactly love my crate… r-reah, it’s not my favorite. But I’ll tolerate it when you go to work or have to leave me alone. And once I’m comfortable? That’s when my mischievous side comes out. I might steal a sock or two—r-rooby-snacks, right? If you’ve got patience, a gentle heart, and room for a shy Scooby who just wants to feel safe and loved… I think we could be r-really great together. A generous donation was made by Oma`s Gift that paid for Scooby`s adoption fee so the adopter only has to pay their $30 admin fee!

Story
Hi hi HI—I’m Honeydew and I’m basically sunshine with legs. If you’re looking for a happy, bouncy, tail-wagging best friend who thinks every day is the BEST DAY EVER, that’s me. I love people (like… really love them), and when I meet new friends my whole body wiggles with excitement. My tail? It like...never stops moving! My voice? I might woohoo at the highest pitch imaginable when I`m REALLY excited...which is most of the time. I might jump up to say hello because I just can’t contain how thrilled I am to see you! I’m a smart girl with lots of enthusiasm and an even bigger appetite for treats. Snacks are my love language. I already know some basics and I’m always eager to learn more—especially if you’re holding food. Walks are SO exciting that I sometimes pull a bit, but I promise it’s just because I’m thrilled to be out exploring the world. I also enjoy being pet everywhere and will happily crawl into your space for attention and cuddles. I’m playful, silly, and full of energy, but I also have a sweet, soft side. I like toys and fun, and I enjoy having dog friends around, especially once I feel comfortable. I can be a bit of a “mine!” kind of girl with my special snacks or treasures, so I’ll just need a family who’s ready to help me with some good habits and set me up for success. Fair trades are totally my thing. Overall? I’m a joyful, food-loving, affectionate wild child who didn’t always get to see much of the world—but I’m ready now. If you’re active, patient, and excited to build a life full of walks, laughs, and love together, I think we might be perfect.
