Story
Meet Birdie! Birdie is a young senior sweetheart at 10 years old who’s ready to trade rescue life for a cozy couch and a forever family. Found as a stray and waiting in an overcrowded shelter, this lovely gal never let it dull her sparkle. Birdie is a happy, social girl who truly enjoys making friends—both human and canine—and greets the world with a warm, gentle enthusiasm. When she’s not charming everyone she meets, Birdie proudly reigns as the queen of cozy. Blankets are her specialty, and she’ll happily burrow herself deep for the kind of epic naps only a seasoned snuggle expert can achieve. Birdie has had a full senior wellness workup and will soon be getting a much-needed dental cleaning along with a small mast cell tumor removed so she’s on track to feel her very best. She could be a wonderful addition to a family with respectful kids, other dogs, and possibly even a cat. If you’re looking for a loving, easygoing companion who balances social butterfly energy with expert-level snuggling, Birdie might just be your perfect match. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Birdie's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines. Story
Meet Naila! Naila is a young Lab/Boxer mix with a smile big enough to light up the whole room. Her start in life wasn’t easy — she was found abandoned in a hot car alongside a small dog friend and then spent six long months in a shelter with no adoption interest. But despite everything, Naila’s spirit never dimmed. During her shelter stay, Naila battled severe chronic ear infections that eventually required a TECA (total ear canal ablation) surgery in her right ear, leaving her deaf on that side. But don’t worry — this brave girl doesn’t let it slow her down one bit! She’s adapted beautifully and gets around with confidence, joy, and her signature goofy wiggle. Naila is pure sunshine. She loves people, leans in for affection, and greets everyone like a long-lost friend. She’s a silly, happy soul who enjoys playtime, belly rubs, and simply being near her humans. Naila does wonderfully with male dogs and would love a canine buddy who matches her friendly energy. Because Naila is a playful gal we think older children would best suit her.  Naila is looking for a loving home that will cherish her, celebrate her resilience, and give her the happy, safe life she has always deserved. She is working hard on her crate training, leash skills and basic obedience while she stays with us to help her be successful in a forever home.  Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines. Story
We need to rehome our 7 year old, 15lb corgi/pomeranian dog. Her name is Ruby and she is a very lovable dog who would love nothing more than snuggling and playing fetch all day. She's super athletic and loves to run, and be around adults. We have had her in our family for 5 years. I don't know her full history. She obeys extremely well and knows basic commands. She loves car rides and adventures. She is a very happy dog but doesn't really like other dogs or cats, although, I have seen her play with male dogs. She's quite territorial with her food and will attack our other dog and cat if they get near her food. My co-worker also said she doesn't do well with kids. We have tried for 5 years to assimilate her into our family, and for the most part, it has gone well, however I feel she would be better in a home without other animals. Please reach out if you're looking for a fun, loving, athletic, attentive dog and if she would be your only pet. Thank you!

Story
Meet Penny! Penny is a young Chihuahua mix with a tender heart and a quiet curiosity about the world. She didn’t have much early socialization, so she’s still learning that humans can be kind, predictable, and safe. While she’s not quite comfortable with hands-on handling yet, Penny makes progress every single day—and it’s wonderful to watch her confidence slowly bloom. Penny is looking for a patient, understanding family who will let her move at her own pace and celebrate the small victories. She’ll benefit from working with a trainer who can help her learn the basics of life in a human world and continue building her trust and confidence through positive reinforcement. She would love having another gentle, social dog in the home to show her the ropes and help her feel secure. With proper introductions, Penny could likely learn to live peacefully with cats as well. A home with respectful teenagers would be fine, as long as everyone is committed to her training and socialization journey. Penny may not be the kind of dog who runs up for cuddles right away—but for the right family, earning her trust will be incredibly rewarding. If you have patience, compassion, and room in your heart for a shy pup learning to shine, Penny just might be your perfect match. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Penny's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Story
Meet the New Years pups! These precious puppies had a rough start to life. Their sweet mama, a stray black Lab, gave birth to them outside before being found and brought to safety. Despite her circumstances, she has been an incredibly gentle, loving, and good-natured mom—and her puppies are just as wonderful. Mama stayed with her rescuer and has a potential family lined up. We believe their dad was a bulldog and maybe shepherd type based on the puppies’ looks, giving them an adorable mix of sturdy builds and soulful expressions.  Each pup is affectionate, people-loving, and full of that irresistible puppy charm. They enjoy cuddles, playtime, and soaking up all the love they can get. These babies are looking for families who are ready for the joys and responsibilities of raising a puppy—training, patience, and lots of love included. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as one of their forever home, be sure to submit an application!  ##2626310##
