Story
We adopted bear from this site when he was 1 year old. He is now 10, and still as beautiful and magnificent as ever. He loves the rivers and lakes. When it comes to security he's worth his wait in gold. He is extremely loyal. We moved from a 4.5 acer lot to a tinny apartment, and were not able to keep him. He has been living at a friends for the last 8 months, and now she has to move and can't keep him.

Story
Meet Toast! Toast is a tiny tornado of a terrier with a huge personality packed into a little body! This sweet, silly girl is bursting with energy and always ready to turn everyday moments into something fun. She may have had a rough start, having been found abandoned in a warehouse but thanks to our friends at Love Leo Rescue, Toast is now safe, loved, and ready to find her forever home. Toast is everything you’d expect from a terrier: active, playful, and just a little bit opinionated and sassy in the most entertaining way. Once she is comfortable she absolutely adores people and has a big, loving heart to match her spunky spirit.  Like many confident little dogs, Toast can be a bit sassy when interacting with other pups through barriers like fences and on leash but in open settings she does well and enjoys having a buddy. With proper introductions, she’s a great candidate for a multi-dog home and seems to prefer bigger dogs! We’re not sure how Toast feels about cats, but she may be able to live with them in a home that has experience, structure, and patience for proper introductions and boundaries. Toast appears to be potty pad trained and will need continued guidance and consistency to help her transition to pottying outside. This hilarious, high-energy girl keeps everyone at the rescue smiling and laughing every day. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate, and lively companion who will fill your home with joy, Toast is ready to be your new best friend! Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Toast's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines. Toast would do great in a home with...Cats : Dogs : Yep!  Kiddos :   ##2698477##

Story
Meet Garth! Garth is a resilient English Bulldog with a heart as big as his jowls. Garth was found in rough shape, suffering from a severe case of demodex mange, painfully infected ears and paws, and clear signs of long-term, untreated skin disease. Despite everything he’s been through, Garth has shown incredible strength and sweetness. Under the care of our dedicated veterinary team, his comfort has improved, his skin is healing, and his true personality is beginning to shine through. This boy is feeling SO much better.  Garth’s journey isn’t a short one. He will need continued veterinary care, including regular checkups, medications, and a committed routine to keep him comfortable and healthy. He will likely require lifelong managment of his skin. Because of this, Garth is looking for a special adopter, someone patient, compassionate, and prepared to partner with their vet to give him the quality of life he deserves. We will continue to care for him and are commited to his path of wellness but feel he would thrive even more with the right human and home. Garth is a super sweet boy who adores all his people and loves meeting new ones. He has done great meeting other dogs, going on walks and seems to prefer the ladies but can be a typical bossy bulldog when it comes to sharing a space and would be just fine as the king of his castle. Garth enjoys easy strolls where he can get his sniffs in, plays with toys and of course gets lots of naps in. Because he can sometimes be a typical pushy bulldog we don't feel he would pair well with young kids in a home. Cats are unknown. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Garth's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines. Garth would do great in a home with...Cats : Dogs : female dogs  Kiddos : 13+    ##2637066##

Story
Meet Grandma Croissant! Grandma Croissant is a small senior dog with a long history behind her and a much softer chapter ahead. She came to us after being found tied up outside, with severely matted hair that suggested years of neglect. Thanks to a kind passerby, she is now safe and receiving the care she always deserved. She has since had a full veterinary workup. Grandma Croissant is both blind and deaf, and she is currently living with advanced dental disease. She has a dental procedure scheduled, which we hope will bring her some much-needed comfort. Based on her condition, she is estimated to be between 14 and 18 years old. Right now, she is adjusting to a life of warmth, soft bedding, and regular meals. She spends most of her time resting and benefits from a calm, predictable environment. Because she cannot see, a small and consistent space will help her safely learn her surroundings. Grandma Croissant is looking for a home that understands the needs of a super senior dog. She will require patience, gentle handling, and a commitment to keeping her comfortable. In return, she offers quiet companionship and the opportunity to provide dignity and care in her final stage of life. She may be a good fit for a variety of homes, as long as they can provide the time and stability she needs. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Croissant's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines. Story
Meet Naila! Naila is a young Staffie/Boxer mix with a smile big enough to light up the whole room. Her start in life wasn’t easy — she was found abandoned in a hot car alongside a small dog friend and then spent six long months in a shelter with no adoption interest. But despite everything, Naila’s spirit never dimmed. During her shelter stay, Naila battled severe chronic ear infections that eventually required a TECA (total ear canal ablation) surgery in her right ear, leaving her deaf on that side. But don’t worry — this brave girl doesn’t let it slow her down one bit! She’s adapted beautifully and gets around with confidence, joy, and her signature goofy wiggle. Naila is pure sunshine. She loves people, leans in for affection, and greets everyone like a long-lost friend. She’s a silly, happy soul who enjoys playtime, belly rubs, and simply being near her humans. Naila does wonderfully with male dogs her size or smaller and would love a canine buddy who matches her friendly energy but would also be just fine as the only pet. Because Naila is a playful gal we think older children would best suit her.  Naila is looking for a loving home that will cherish her, celebrate her resilience, and give her the happy, safe life she has always deserved. She is working hard on her crate training, leash skills and basic obedience while she stays with us to help her be successful in a forever home.  Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines. Story
Meet Hannah Hannah is a gentle senior pit bull with a heart full of love and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. After spending nearly three years in a rural shelter, she’s finally getting the safety and care she deserves and she’s making the most of every moment. Hannah’s favorite place is right by your side. Whether you’re working, relaxing, or doing chores, she’ll happily and quietly keep you company, soaking in your presence. She thrives on connection and does best with someone who is home often. Hannah can feel anxious when left out or alone, so a patient adopter who can provide a consistent routine and a cozy, secure space for her when needed will help her feel safe and settled. She can be selective with other dogs and prefers calm companionship over high-energy play. A mellow senior male dog may be a good match with slow, thoughtful introductions, but she’d also be perfectly content as your one-and-only. Her history with cats and kids in unknown but due to her loving nature we think she would do just fine with older kids ( 10+). Hannah does have some mobility challenges due to arthritis and elbow dysplasia, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying life. She loves gentle daily walks and especially enjoys her stroller rides when she gets tired. She’s currently on pain medication and joint supplements, and we’ve already seen encouraging improvements in her strength and comfort. Soon, Hannah will undergo surgery to remove some concerning masses, along with a much-needed dental procedure. While her long-term prognosis is still uncertain, one thing is clear Hannah loves life, and she deserves to spend her days surrounded by warmth, kindness, and care. If you’re someone who believes in giving senior dogs the love and dignity they deserve, Hannah will reward you with quiet devotion and endless companionship. She’s ready to spend her golden years in a home where she can truly belong. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates!
