Story
Meet Sophie! Sophie is a 4.5 year old sweetheart who lives to make her humans happy. She has a beautiful tri-color coat, and weighs around 43 lbs. Sophie would be best suited to be a companion pet. Her entire day is centered around her humans and how to get affection from them. She is a mild-mannered dog and doesn't have the high energy that is typical of Border Collies. She is perfectly content with moderate paced walks and light games of fetch. If you throw too far, she will give up early and come jogging back to you! She doesn't really have the desire to run as fast and far as she can. She doesn't want to wander too far from her humans. Sophie would do best in house that does not have small children or excessive noise. She was surrendered to HUNAH because she was having increased anxiety when small children came into the family. She has some sound sensitivity. Her previous home had chickens that were penned up, but her foster home has free-range chickens which blows Sophie's mind! She isn’t sure about her role when chickens are freely scattered around the yard and is still trying to figure it out....cautiously, and on leash. Sophie likes her foster’s cats and wants to be as close to them as she can. Some cats can just tune her out and she relaxes. The other one is annoyed by this and hides away, which peaks Sophie's interest even more, but she has never shown any aggression towards them! She has gotten along ok with her foster dog siblings but has shown resource guarding behavior when toys are in the picture. She will play with her human adjacent to the other dogs but isn't interested in playing WITH them. She would do best as an only dog. She is trained to simple commands, house trained, and has pretty good recall. She is somewhat leash trained and currently working on learning not to pull. She is not crate trained yet but has been working with her foster family for short stints in the crate without showing any distress. Sophie is a smart dog. She is loyal and has so much love to give. She wants to please her human above all else. Could she be the right fit for you? Breed: Border Collie Age: 4.5 years old Weight: 43 lb Gender: Female Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Dog friendly: OK. Some resource guarding issues. Would love to be an only dog! Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Older quiet kids OK. Crate trained: In progress House trained: Yes Sophie is currently being fostered in Brownsville, OR. We have volunteers who can help with transportation. Her adoption fee is $400. If you are interested in adopting Sophie and are pre-approved, please contact the adoption team at hunahapps@gmail.com. Good with kids, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
Lady was bought from a litter off a private seller with purebred German Shepherd parents. She is an amazing girl who is very intelligent and just needs a family with more time than we have to offer her. She has always been very excited to say hello to people and meet them and it can take her a little bit to calm down. She does have a small prey drive so it is recommended that you not have her around any cats or small pets. She is very much a loving dog with a very playful and silly mentality. She does understand voice and hand commands and is a quick learner.

Story
Dankster (Danky, Baby Dank, Danky Doodle) originally adopted from Rocket Dog Rescue in San Francisco, CA and brought to Oregon when he was about a year old is 6.5 yrs old, sweet, smart, smiley, loving, playful, goofy, medium energy, and thinks he’s a lap dog. Gives sweet kisses and nose boops. Very food motivated; loves to show off all the commands he knows. Mix of independent and a barnacle. He has a high prey drive, so no other types of animals, nor dogs with bully/alpha personalities. He’s a hit/miss on kids of all ages, so best to not be in a home with kids (also a less stressful transition). Reactive on leash and at barriers (fence, house, car); he has been improving. Walks well on leash when not triggered. About 10 lbs overweight (under-exercised, not overfed) and would benefit from regular walks (with someone who has the strength for his pulling or lunging when triggered); it’s challenging to get him to engage in exercise thru play long enough to make a difference.

Story
Meet Mary Ann and Ginger, an adorable bonded pair of medium-sized rescue dogs who are searching for their forever home. These super cute girls have spent their entire lives on their own until they were recently rescued. Despite their rough beginnings, Mary Ann and Ginger are incredibly sweet and are now learning to enjoy the comforts of a loving home. Both Mary Ann and Ginger get along wonderfully with other dogs, though they haven't had the chance to meet any cats yet. They need a patient adopter who will give them the time and space they need to adjust to their new surroundings and discover the joys of being cherished pets. Ginger, who bravely underwent heartworm treatment, is now healthy and heartworm negative. Both dogs are fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and on preventatives. They even tolerate baths and absolutely love being petted. Currently, Mary Ann and Ginger are being fostered in Seguin, TX, where they are receiving the care and love they deserve. If you have a kind heart and a gentle hand, these two sweethearts will surely reward you with endless affection and loyalty. Adopt Mary Ann and Ginger and give them the loving home they've always dreamed of.

Story
Meet Boone – A Gentle Soul Ready for a Fresh Start Boone is a striking Great Dane and Black Mouth Cur mix at 65 pounds with soulful eyes and a quiet, thoughtful demeanor. Rescued after being abandoned on the roadside, Boone's past suggests he was used as a hunting dog and likely spent much of his life confined to a kennel. This history has left him shy and cautious at first, but with time, patience, and kindness, Boone reveals his deeply affectionate side. Once he begins to trust, Boone becomes a devoted companion who craves gentle affection and enjoys peaceful moments with his person. He thrives in a calm environment and takes comfort in the presence of other dogs—he gets along wonderfully with canine companions and would benefit from a home with another friendly dog to help boost his confidence. Currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, Boone is looking for a foster or forever home in Central Texas only. He needs a loving, understanding family who can help him continue to blossom at his own pace. His ideal adopter would be someone familiar with hounds or someone who appreciates the gentle, loyal nature of these incredible breeds. If you're a hound enthusiast or simply someone with a kind heart and a quiet home, Boone may be the perfect match for you. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for someone who sees his potential and will offer the love and patience he’s never known before. Boone is ready to start again. Hazel – 9-Week-Old Heeler Mix | Tiny Explorer with a Big Personality Hazel is pure puppy joy wrapped up in a tiny, speckled package! This adventurous little Heeler mix is so entertaining to watch — she bounces, pounces, and zooms after anything that moves like it’s her full-time job. Leaves, toys, shadows… if it runs, Hazel is on it. She’s curious about everything and always ready for her next “mission,” which makes her a blast to have around. Hazel would love a home that enjoys an active, playful puppy and will help channel her smart, energetic brain with training, toys, and fun adventures. After she’s done conquering the world for the day, she’s happy to crash and recharge for her next round of puppy shenanigans.
