Story
Hello World!  I have a story to tell and my name is connected to my life story that almost ended in my death.  You see my name River is a name with a meaning as to how I came in to the rescue.  When you hear this story I hope that you will never forget the miracle that my living and surviving the heartless act of a human who once owned me.  About 2 years ago it seems that my owners couldn’t take care of me anymore and they must have been too embarrassed to turn me into a local shelter.  What they did instead was take me down to the river  close to one of the boat docks and they tied me to a tree and left me there.  Unfortunately it was a time of year where not many people were coming to spend time on the river, so I waited. I waited a very long time and all I could access was the water and there was never any food. I was so hungry, cold and wet staying there on that chain.  I waited and waited with no shelter and no food.  When I was about to give up and die, this kind man discovered me there and untied my chain and put me in his truck. I was so weak and hungry I can barely remember the ride. Next thing I knew I was being carried into this really nice place and everyone was petting me and talking to me, telling me not to give up. There was food and fresh water every day. I got to go outside to a big playground and run!  They took great care of me and I was happy for once.  I was safe. Turns out I was heart worm positive and they took  care of that too and treated me and now I am free of heart worms.  Gosh they fixed me up just right and I am fully vetted and even have a microchip! A lot has happened in my short life.  I was two when I arrived but now I am about 4 years old and weigh 65 pounds. I have been in this wonderful place that is kind of remote in Alabama.  Critter Cavalry Rescue has offered to get me some extra special exposure to the world and to introduce me to people that might recognize how special that I truly am.  I try so hard to be a good girl. I know how to sit and be still for treats and be gentle when they give me my food. Yes...I am a Pitbull mix and that seems to get in the way of people considering me.  I really don't know why but it does.  I have the most special spirit but for some reason I really don’t like to be around other dogs and that kind of stops some people from taking me.  I guess I will never forget being so hungry and I feel like other dogs might want to take my food.  I just want a home where I can be the only girl that will lavish all my love on the family or person.   Lots of people are afraid of dogs like me because I am Pitbull mix.  But I am super sweet and will give you tons of kisses if you will just give me a chance.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.   Sorry, we cannot adopt to MA residents.October 2, 2023, 11:51 am

Story
Are you a lady who lives alone or maybe it is just you and your dog who would love to have a sister dog?  Our girl Sister Sybil,  loves to play and buddy up with other dogs.  She also would make a great guard dog for a lady who may live alone.  Sybil is not a barker unless an unfamiliar person shows up at your door and she is ready to warn you.  She hides from children, not aggressive to them at all, just unsure of children, so she avoids and hides from them.  She is a sweet baby girl who loves to cuddle, give kisses, run after a ball and just be close to her person.  She is house trained but will need a fenced yard when let out to potty.   She doesn’t have recall to just come back in. Our sweet Sister Sybil might be shy at first but she is submissive being a beagle/bulldog breed with brindle leg stockings that are beautiful. She is one and a half year old weighing around 35 pounds. When she knows that you love her and she understands that you just want to be kind to her she will be all about you. She has a unique little underbite that gives her a special smile and She has gold splashes on her feet, legs and undercoat as though she was splashed with God’s special paint brush. Sister Sybil is a diamond with a wonderful soul and if you feel you have a home for her,  please do not hesitate to inquire with us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 2, 2023, 11:51 am

Story
Mojo was found as a stray and we made every effort to find his owners but to no avail. He is an Aussie mix and of course with the breed comes high activity. I will say that he loves his down time though! He is NOT an apartment dog. He needs a good sized fenced yard. He is not great in a crowd of dogs but will do well with a sister or brother to play with. He hasn't been tested with cats so we don't know about that. The vet believes his age to be about 6 years. He's neutered, vaccinated, crate trained and heart worm negative. He is more than ready for his forever home! ADOPTION FEE $400 PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION!

Story
Baba and Xenia are two special needs girl puppies that are the most adorable twosome you will ever meet.  When you meet special needs rescued dogs and cats you wonder how they will ever find someone to love them just the way they are.  There are people out there and we know that these two girls will have God send them someone that is up for the unconditional love and extra care.  They were born sometime around the first of October from what we can tell and currently they weigh 22 pounds and headed maybe to be a 30 pound adult dog.  One is mostly blind but not totally and sister will guide her and totally makes sure she is never lost or stressed out.  They have a condition called Cerebella Hypoplasia and it affects their motor skills because of the neurological dysfunction.  They fall over easily but they always keep getting right back up and living their best life.  They are so loving and easy to have around for the love that glows from their soul.  They might not have a long life and just how long they have cannot be determined…only guess at.  We know that whatever time they have will be one that their family of either a foster or an adopter will be blessed to have loved them.  They don’t have any medical expenses in the way of care.  They are completely vetted and up to date on shots and spayed.  They just need to be able to go in and out of a home with ease to enjoy a yard and to have some rugs around that make walking and traction easier for them.  Each day with them is a gift and our original foster mom being in an apartment, knows that they need more access to the great outdoors.  She is going back to work and school also and they need someone home more hours than she can give.  We are looking for a new foster home or a forever home.  Whichever God sends their way will be the next step.  If you have a place in your heart and a desire to have a greater purpose in the life of two little rescued puppies.  Please consider these two precious angels and helping them in their wobbly life. Story
Meet our boy Best Friend Pete!   This handsome boy has a ready smile that says that he wants to be your friend.   Pete is an Aussie mix boy that is one year old and 55 pounds.   He came from a sad home situation where There are too many dogs, cats, farm animals and not enough food to go around to feed them all.  The first year of his life he was tied to a broken down pickup truck bumper and had to crawl under the truck for shelter in the hard clay dirt where with no grass grew. He was so shy and timid when we first brought him to the foster home and he just didn’t know about all these sights and sounds of the outside world that he was experiencing.   He has come to love the time and loving attention and inside comforts of a home. He is a blessed dog that was able to escape a very poor and sad living situation. He has learned about being crate trained, housebreaking, and would be best with a fenced yard.  He needs to be given the time and attention that he deserves and a strong dog leader.   He loves going for car rides.  He is an Aussie mix we think and he is very smart and sensitive to direction from people. We think this handsome boy would be a great running partner, hiking companion and beach comber.  A fenced yard is a must.  If you are interested please step up with an email to us:  Ccrnewengland@gmail.com He is in New England now and ready to move to a new home with a fenced yard.  Pete is a dog that will always appreciate each kind word and love that he gets from a family in the years to come. He will need a strong leader and someone who will show him they are in charge.  He loves running    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 2, 2023, 11:51 am

Story
Sparkly Sabrina is magical!!! Can you believe that his sweet, beautiful Husky mix girl was abandoned....the people just moved away and left her to starve. It doesn't take long till you realize this dog is an exceptionally smart girl.  She appears to be young at just approximately 2 years and 60 lbs. Always smiling, she is quick to please and equally quick to learn.  Being playful is her happy quality. Sabrina loves to go for walks (or runs!) and is wonderful riding in the car. Her one wish and desire in life to to be with a family or an individual person who will cherish her. She seeks attention, love and reassurance as you might expect an abandoned dog to do.  She adores kind words, pats on the head and belly rubs. In fact, belly rubs are magic to her. She does okay with other dogs but can be a little snarky at times. Her rope is her favorite toy, flinging it gleefully. At time, she is just plain smiley and silly. One of her quirks is her magicical disappearing/escape tricks to get out of an outdoor kennel or fenced yard when alone outside.  She just truly wants to be inside all the time. She is super special and needs an owner   experienced with Huskies.  They are sensitive and devoted dogs with special qualities.  If you are interested please contact us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 2, 2023, 11:51 am
