Story
Welcome boxer and senior dog lovers! This handsome, salt-and-pepper fellow is Pierre, a 9-year old boxer patiently waiting for someone to love and share his golden years with in his forever home. Pierre is a people-oriented guy and adores his humans. While he is living in a multi-dog foster home and has made several canine friends there, he would very much enjoy being the center of attention as an only dog in his forever home. When he came to the rescue, Pierre was a bit frail and underweight. As his weight, muscle tone, and overall health improved, so did his strength. He is in excellent condition and health for a dog in his season of life. Pierre walks well on leash and also enjoys moderate hikes. He adores a good car ride, snuggles on the couch, or just chilling on the floor while the humans do their thing. Pierre is crate-trained and rests nicely in crate when his foster family is at work. Pierre would benefit from a schedule where he can have pottery breaks during the day. He would be excellent for someone who has a flexible schedule. Pierre is microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, is on tick/heartworm preventatives. He had senior bloodwork done before receiving a dental to freshen up that cute mouth of his. Pierre is being fostered in north-eastern Lancaster county/edge of Berks and potential adopters should be willing to travel to meet him. If Pierre sounds like the guy for you, head on over to www.zoeshouserescue.com and complete an adoption application through his profile. Please note: We do not always receive applications submitted through adoptapet or petfinder. Kennel license 9117 Reading, Pa 19608

Story
Meet Bogie! Bogie is a purebred black Labrador Retriever who was surrendered to Zoe’s House Rescue after his owner passed away. He knows basic commands like “sit”, “paw” and “here”, and is fully housebroken and crate trained! Even at 7 years old, Bogie is in tip-top shape and would love to go on adventures with his new family. After a walk or run at the park, Bogie can be found cuddling his humans- he is 100% a Velcro dog and a 10/10 snuggler. He is kid, dog, and cat-friendly! He’s a big fan of a comfy couch and will rest his head on your lap to watch some television, so be prepared to share your furniture. Bogie has a friendly, playful, and sweet demeanor, and is submissive with other dogs. He’s the best combination of active and chill, and would be the perfect addition to any family. If Bogie sounds like the perfect fit for you, apply to adopt him! 📍 Bogie is being fostered in Manayunk, PA and potential adopters would be required to travel to meet him. Story
Meet Flora 🌸 Flora is a beautiful 4-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog with a gentle soul and a heart full of quiet hope. She is spayed and up to date on all vaccines and preventatives, ready to begin the next chapter of her life in a safe, loving home. Flora is very timid and shy, but beneath her soft, cautious nature is a dog who truly wants to blossom with patience, kindness, and consistency. She is currently underweight and has been shaved due to severe matting, so she has a long journey ahead as she regains her strength and her signature fluffy coat. A calm, understanding home will give her the time and space she needs to flourish. She does well with other dogs and cats, and would thrive in a home with respectful, older children who understand the importance of giving her space as she builds trust (12 and up please). Flora is known to jump fences, so for her safety she must be kept on a leash at all times and in a secure environment. Flora is currently being treated with an anxiety med and it should be continued in her new home under vet discretion. If you’re looking to open your heart to a sweet, sensitive girl who just needs someone to believe in her, Flora is ready to grow by your side. 💛 Before applying please take into account: Adopting a farm dog is life-changing, for you and them. For these dogs, everything is new and often overwhelming: people, houses, stairs, leashes, food bowls, collars, toys, TVs, ovens, doorways, pavement…the list goes on. They need adopters who can move slowly, be patient, keep expectations reasonable, and provide the understanding and tools they need to grow into happy, confident companions. Patience, positive reinforcement, and understanding are key! Kennel #9117 Sinking Spring, PA

Story
Emmett is a small, senior dog with a big personality and a strong sense of independence. He’s looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can feel safe and respected. Emmett does not like to be handled or picked up, so his ideal adopter will be someone who understands his boundaries and can give him the space he needs to thrive. While Emmett lives with other dogs, he isn’t interested in close canine relationships and prefers to keep his distance. He would do best as an only pet. A securely fenced yard is essential for this independent pup, giving him a safe place to explore and decompress. Emmett is potty trained but may mark in the house if another dog isn’t fully housebroken. He’s great on a leash and enjoys slow, steady walks, making him a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a relaxed pace. Emmett’s favorite activities include burrowing under blankets, playing with anything that squeaks, relaxing in his crate, and occasionally curling up nearby when he feels ready for affection. Emmett does have advanced dental disease, which cannot be treated surgically due to his grade 4 heart murmur. He is on lifetime medication to manage his condition, and his adopter will need to be committed to ongoing care. Despite these challenges, Emmett is full of spunk and ready to enjoy his golden years in a loving home. If you’re an experienced dog owner with a calm, patient home, no other pets, and a securely fenced yard, Emmett could be the perfect match. He’s neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and ready to find his forever family. Apply today to give this special senior the understanding and comfort he deserves!
