Story
Hi, I`m Flint! I’m about 8 months old, full of energy, and always ready to GO! If you’re looking for a running buddy or an adventure partner, I’m your guy. I love heading out for runs with my volunteer friends and stretching my legs. The more we move, the happier I am!I’m still learning how to play with other dogs and building my confidence as I go. Sometimes I get a little excited or unsure, but every day I’m getting braver and better at understanding my canine friends. With positive experiences and patient guidance, I’m really starting to come out of my shell and improve my doggie manners. I’m not sure what I think about cats yet. I haven’t really decided!I’m a super smart boy and I love learning new things. I already know sit, paw, and down, and I’m excited to show you how fast I can pick up more. I take good care of my toys and don’t tear them up. I’m still working on my house and potty training, so I’ll need a little patience and consistency, but I promise I’m trying my best. What I really need is an active family who will help me keep learning, give me lots of exercise, and include me in all the fun. If you’re ready for a loyal, playful, energetic best friend, I’m ready to meet you. Let’s go on adventures together! Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Adorable Flora is ready to find her forever home! Flora came to us as a stray with her sister, Fauna. We’re not sure of her breed, but she’s definitely a big pup - already almost 70 lbs! Despite her size, she`s very gentle. While we`re working on her jumping up to greet people, she`s always gentle about it. Flora loves people and wants to hug and give face kisses to anyone she meets. Once she settles down, she`ll happily sit by your feet for pets and attention. She`s a lovebug who`s eager to please! She`s been in a foster home for a few weeks and has been slowly but surely learning house manners. Potty-training is still new to her but she`s made great progress! Her foster mom said that as soon as she figured out their doggie door, she never had another accident in the house. Flora`s also improving on her walking skills and already knows `sit`! Flora has done well with other dogs and has been getting along with several dogs in her foster home. We believe a home with an adult dog to show her the ropes would be a great fit for Flora. Story
Meet Zeus! This young, active boy is full of life and always ready for his next adventure. He loves a good game of fetch, enjoys car rides, and is happiest when he’s spending time with his people. One of his cutest quirks is when you scratch his back end, he’ll do an adorable little “happy tappy” dance with his hind feet!Zeus is a big fan of snack time, especially when apples and carrots are on the menu. He’s housebroken and already knows some basic commands, giving him a great foundation to continue learning and growing with his forever family.Zeus is a friendly, enthusiastic guy who truly believes everyone should be his friend. He can get excited when meeting new people and pups, and since he hasn’t had much experience with other dogs, he’ll benefit from continued socialization and guidance. He would do best as the only pet in the home, or with a confident adult dog who can help show him the ropes - not only teaching him good manners, but also helping him learn appropriate play skills and how to interact politely with other dogs.Because Zeus likes to follow his heart and his nose, a home with a fenced yard or one that can keep him safely leashed is ideal. He hasn’t been around children yet, but since he loves people and has plenty of energy, we think he would do well with older kids who can match his playful spirit. Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Tansy is heartworm positive! Tansy is a very sweet girl and even gives hugs. She loves to cuddle and be pet by her friends she has meet at the shelter. She enjoys going on sniffy walks and she loves a job for her nose. She loves her stuffies and treats as well. Tansy is sometimes scared of unfamiliar people and seems to prefer young adults. Tansy has your typical hound howl so apartment living may not be the best for this vocal lady. Tansy keeps her kennel clean through out the day but does have accidents at night when unattended. We think with some positive reinforcement and patience she would learn where it is appropriate to go potty. At this time we are seeking a foster home for Tansy to recover while she receives medical treatment. She will need to be kept separate from other dogs at this time or be the only dog in the home due to her heartworm diagnosis. What fostering involves: • Providing a quiet, low-activity environment • Helping keep them calm during recovery • Lots of love and encouragement • We cover medical treatment and support! Please note:- Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed.- Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Roman is seeking a foster for surgery recovery. Roman is a good boy with his toys and walks excellent on leash. He thrives with routine and seems to be able to make a friend of almost anyone. Roman seems curious about cats and we think he could coexist with a proper introduction. He seems to prefer female dogs over male dogs when picking his new playmates. Roman has gotten to visit with children who have came to the shelter and wanted them to be his friends too! Roman will need some time and patience while working on new skills.Roman arrived as a stray and was noted to have impaired balance. He was seen by the vet and they found a spinal challenge. We are seeking a foster home to help Roman recover from his back surgery to give him a long and comfortable life. What fostering involves:· Providing a quiet, low-activity environment· Helping keep them calm during recovery· Lots of love and encouragement· We cover medical treatment and support! Please note:- Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed.- Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Meet the one and only Scrumps! This big guy came to us as a transfer from Milwaukee and has quickly stolen the hearts of both staff members and volunteers here in Neenah. He`s got a big playful spirit and a loving personality. He loves to play and definitely shows off his puppy side through his exuberant and goofy playstyle. He does best with female dogs who are also young and energetic and don`t mind `rough and tumble` play. Outside of playtime, Scrumps loves soaking up all the attention he can get from his human friends. He enjoys going for walks, especially when he can stop to sniff around and snack on the snow. He’s doing well on leash and continues to improve, though he can still pull a bit when he gets excited.Scrumps also makes a great travel buddy and does well on car rides. He loves carrying his stuffies around and proudly showing them off to everyone he meets. He’s quickly learning “sit” and other basic commands and would be happy to keep learning more. While we’re still getting to know his potty and house-training habits, he always keeps his blankets and stuffies tidy in his kennel.Scrumps may do well in a home with older children who can appreciate his size and energy. He also may do well in a home with another female dog, but so far he hasn`t enjoyed meeting male dogs. We aren`t yet sure how Scrumps would do in a home with cats. Scrumps is currently available for a foster-to-adopt home while he waits for his upcoming ophthalmologist appointment. This appointment will allow a specialist to assess his eyes and determine whether any additional treatment or ongoing care is needed. In the meantime, he can settle into a loving home environment, and a foster-to-adopt arrangement gives potential adopters the opportunity to get to know him while we gather more information about his eye health. We will, of course, keep the foster/adoptive family fully informed after the ophthalmology visit and discuss any next steps if further care is recommended. If you’re interested in providing him with a temporary or potentially permanent home during this time, we’d love to hear from you. This sweet, affectionate boy is looking for a home that will enjoy his playful and big-hearted energy.
