Story
Adorable Flora is ready to find her forever home! Flora came to us as a stray with her sister, Fauna. We’re not sure of her breed, but she’s definitely a big pup - already almost 70 lbs! Despite her size, she`s very gentle. While we`re working on her jumping up to greet people, she`s always gentle about it. Flora loves people and wants to hug and give face kisses to anyone she meets. Once she settles down, she`ll happily sit by your feet for pets and attention. She`s a lovebug who`s eager to please! She`s been in a foster home for a few weeks and has been slowly but surely learning house manners. Potty-training is still new to her but she`s made great progress! Her foster mom said that as soon as she figured out their doggie door, she never had another accident in the house. Flora`s also improving on her walking skills and already knows `sit`! Flora has done well with other dogs and has been getting along with several dogs in her foster home. We believe a home with an adult dog to show her the ropes would be a great fit for Flora. Story
Meet Zeus! This young, active boy is full of life and always ready for his next adventure. He loves a good game of fetch, enjoys car rides, and is happiest when he’s spending time with his people. One of his cutest quirks is when you scratch his back end, he’ll do an adorable little “happy tappy” dance with his hind feet!Zeus is a big fan of snack time, especially when apples and carrots are on the menu. He’s housebroken and already knows some basic commands, giving him a great foundation to continue learning and growing with his forever family.Zeus is a friendly, enthusiastic guy who truly believes everyone should be his friend. He can get excited when meeting new people and pups, and since he hasn’t had much experience with other dogs, he’ll benefit from continued socialization and guidance. He would do best as the only pet in the home, or with a confident adult dog who can help show him the ropes - not only teaching him good manners, but also helping him learn appropriate play skills and how to interact politely with other dogs.Because Zeus likes to follow his heart and his nose, a home with a fenced yard or one that can keep him safely leashed is ideal. He hasn’t been around children yet, but since he loves people and has plenty of energy, we think he would do well with older kids who can match his playful spirit. Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Meet the one and only Scrumps! This big guy came to us as a transfer from Milwaukee and has quickly stolen the hearts of both staff members and volunteers here in Neenah. He`s got a big playful spirit and a loving personality. He loves to play and definitely shows off his puppy side through his exuberant and goofy playstyle. He does best with female dogs who are also young and energetic and don`t mind `rough and tumble` play. Outside of playtime, Scrumps loves soaking up all the attention he can get from his human friends. He enjoys going for walks, especially when he can stop to sniff around and snack on the snow. He’s doing well on leash and continues to improve, though he can still pull a bit when he gets excited.Scrumps also makes a great travel buddy and does well on car rides. He loves carrying his stuffies around and proudly showing them off to everyone he meets. He’s quickly learning “sit” and other basic commands and would be happy to keep learning more. While we’re still getting to know his potty and house-training habits, he always keeps his blankets and stuffies tidy in his kennel.Scrumps may do well in a home with older children who can appreciate his size and energy. He also may do well in a home with another female dog, but so far he hasn`t enjoyed meeting male dogs. We aren`t yet sure how Scrumps would do in a home with cats. Scrumps is currently available for a foster-to-adopt home while he waits for his upcoming ophthalmologist appointment. This appointment will allow a specialist to assess his eyes and determine whether any additional treatment or ongoing care is needed. In the meantime, he can settle into a loving home environment, and a foster-to-adopt arrangement gives potential adopters the opportunity to get to know him while we gather more information about his eye health. We will, of course, keep the foster/adoptive family fully informed after the ophthalmology visit and discuss any next steps if further care is recommended. If you’re interested in providing him with a temporary or potentially permanent home during this time, we’d love to hear from you. This sweet, affectionate boy is looking for a home that will enjoy his playful and big-hearted energy. Story
At just 3 years old, Lou has already mastered the art of spreading joy. This sweet, snuggly boy greets every day (and every human!) with a full-body wiggle and little snorts that could brighten even the cloudiest morning. He adores cuddles, scratches, and curling up beside you (or on your lap) the moment you sit down. He believes love is a full-contact sport!Lou is a toy enthusiast through and through, and balls are his absolute favorite. Whether he’s proudly trotting around with one in his mouth or inviting you to play, he’s always ready for fun. Despite his playful streak, Lou is wonderfully well-mannered. He’s fully potty trained, takes care of his toys and bedding, and eager to please. On walks and out in the world, Lou is calm and non-reactive when passing other dogs who don`t enter his space. But at home, he prefers to be the star of the show - he wants to be the only dog in the household. He also needs a home without cats so he can relax, play, and thrive without temptation or stress. We believe he may do well in a home with older respectful children.Lou is currently located in a Foster Home. Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Bruna is a 6-month-old mixed-breed sweetheart with a whole lot of potential packed into a young, wiggly body. She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, she warms up quickly and shows her affectionate, snuggly side. She loves curling up close to her people just as much as she loves playtime. When it’s time to have fun, Bruna is all in - especially if balls are involved! She enjoys chasing toys and would happily play alongside other dogs, whose company she truly enjoys. Having a canine friend may even help boost her confidence as she continues to come out of her shell. While we’re not sure how she would do with cats, Bruna has met children ages 4 and up and has done well with them.Like any puppy, Bruna is still working on building confidence and mastering potty training, but she’s eager to learn and will thrive with patience, consistency, and lots of encouragement. With the right home, this gentle, playful girl is sure to blossom into an amazing companion. Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website.
