Story
We took Benny in at 5 months, he needed a home. We sent him to a trainer to help us. Benny is not your normal husky, he likes the outdoors but also wants to be indoors. Benny is very hyper, likes walks in the rain but doesn’t like to be alone when it’s raining. He gets very anxious. Sometimes you have to hang out with him. He does not sleep out at all. He does have a sensitive stomach, he walks a little crooked. We had X-rays taken of his lower back to make sure he was ok. We were told it’s probably how his previous owner had him tied up. He’s sweet, loves back rubs. My fiancé got sick and we can’t attend to Benny’s needs.. I love him and want someone to understand Benny is not your normal husky. My heart is sad but I need him to have a better home and to be happy and the attention he requires. Please reach out and we can talk. We do not feed him any table food. He eats Royal cane dried dog food.He eats twice a day. It’s very important to us that Benny finds a loving attentive home.

Story
Oreo loves to run, so she makes for a great running companion. She is a playful and gentle pup with both small and older children and loves to play fetch with a ball. Oreo loves cuddle time and needs a home where she can live inside as a close family member. She enjoys her time in the sun, but also loves relaxing and receiving tummy rubs. She is excellent during grooming time. She has basic obedience and is very well-behaved. She plays well with other dogs. She is potty-trained and crate-trained. If you need her to, she will step into the crate without trouble and sleep in a crate without whining. Oreo needs a secure yard with a large fence. Oreo has brought so much joy to our family, and she has been great with our children, family, and friends. Sadly, our youngest’s allergies have worsened, and it is with a heavy heart that we’ve decided to re-home Oreo. Oreo was born on May 1, 2019. We acquired her through Pet Land in Chicago Ridge in 2019. She is microchipped.

10-2023 Max is a 4 yr. old, male Husky - Pomeranian mix, aka a Pomsky. Max weighs 35 lbs. Max carries a lot of husky traits, one of which, he is an escape artist! Max is energetic, active, strong, and playful. He loves toys and going for walks. He can be dog reactive, particularly large breed dogs; we have been working on this, he is getting better. Max thinks cats are for chasing, not uncommon for a husky! Max would be OK for a family dog, but only older kids, teens and up, no children under 10 years old. Max is fine in the car as long as he is restrained by doggie seatbelt, or crate, otherwise he is jumping from seat to seat! Max would love to have a securely fenced yard, with a fence 5 feet or taller, to run and round and play, but a fenced yard is not a requirement. Max has the energy of a puppy, so be ready to take multiple walks, runs each day. A well exercised dog is a good dog! This is Hushy! We only met Hushy a few days ago, but he seems to be a pretty stand up guy to us. Hushy is an active dog who will need plenty of enrichment in his adoptive home. He's a bit of an escape artist as well, so if you have a yard, it would be best if it was fenced in, as Hushy might just be encouraged to explore the neighborhood if not. Hushy is also a Special Care animal, which means he needs a bit more love. Although he is asymptomatic at the present moment, Hushy is currently heartworm positive. But don't fret, Anti Cruelty is here to support you in his adoption! He will be eligible for his last two treatments starting on April 15th which will be taken care of by our on-site clinic. After the first treatment, Hushy MUST have only very limited exercise to reduce the chance of complications occurring. Adopters should be available to bring Hushy in for these treatments as close to that date as possible. He is also currently on an antibiotic which his adopters will be sent home with. Hushy is absolutely itching to meet you, but to be fair he was itching before he came to Anti Cruelty too. He has some patchy fur on his legs caused by excessive licking of the area. If this patchiness does not clear up with the antibiotics he is currently on or with regular use of flea and tick meds, adopters should be prepared to consult their private vet and consider the possibility of him having allergies. This would mean a special diet, sometimes made with alternative proteins or food that's been all scienced up to remove the majority of allergens. Well don't just stand there!
