Story
Meet Gypsy! Gypsy is a 2 year old mixed breed who weighs about 60 pounds. According to the DNA test done by her previous family she is a mix of Siberian Husky, White Swiss Shepherd, Anatolian Shepherd, Rottweiler, Boxer, Tibetan Terrier, Korean Jindo, American Staffordshire Terrier, and Great Pyrenees. She originally came from a high kill shelter in Alabama, at just 8 months of age. Gypsy is an extremely intelligent dog who loves everyone she meets. She is house trained and great with other dogs that she knows. She is able to play rough with her large dog friends, but also gentle with the small dogs she once lived with. Gypsy is an active girl who would love to be your outdoor activity buddy and would be down for any adventure you would include her in (hiking, running, camping, you name it!) Like most dogs, once she has had her exercise she is an all star snuggler and will happily chill on the couch with her family. Due to her exuberant happiness she would do best in a home without young children (10+). Gypsy has won over all of our hearts with her big smile and love of life...something we all could use more of. Consider adding this ray of sunshine to your life. Gypsy is spayed, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and fully vetted. If you're interested in being considered for gypsy please apply on our website www.angelsretreat.org

Story
COCO came to us after she had a cluster of seizures in her newly adoptive home. She was adopted only a month before from a rescue in Tennessee which did not respond to our inquiries regarding her previous history. Coco is a SWEET girl! She is currently in a foster home with a Chihuahua and several cats and does well with all! She enjoys her walks as much as she enjoys her couch time! Coco is a beautiful red brindle! she is 110% housebroken. Great with meeting new people! Coco is in Keppra and phenobarbital to control her seizures. She has had a couple of clusters since arriving in her foster home and we are working In fine tuning her meds. Coco will need more frequent vet visits than the average dog her age. With excellent care, we feel she can live a relatively normal life and will make an excellent companion for some lucky family. Coco has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. Adoption $200. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org if you are interested in adding Coco to your family! September 2, 2024, 4:38 pm

Story
SKYLAR Is a 5 year old husky who was found as a stray in Baltimore. Being bred to run across the frozen tundra, he does like to test his boundaries so a secure fence and lots of exercise is a must for this guy! Skylar loves his walks and loves to be petted. Rides well in the car! He does have some issues with handling his neck/collar area - he may have had a bad experience with rough handling at some point. He does easily let us hook a leash to his collar but was a little mouthy with the volunteers at the shelter where we got him from when they were putting on and off a slip lead over his head. He was very polite about it and didn’t bite down but because of this we prefer him to have a home without small children. We would love Skylar to go to a family with husky experience! He ha shown some resource guarding with toys so we are recommending he be he only pup where he can soak up all the love and attention. Skylar is neutered and has been vaccinated, 4DX tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting this handsome boy please fill out an application at www.companimals.org. Story
Meet Dasher - a dashing four year old Siberian Husky who is looking for an active home that can keep up with his Siberian antics. Dash has been with us for a couple of years. We're never in a hurry to "settle" for just any home and we knew Dash had some very specific needs. He had no manners when we met him. He liked other dogs but had no dog skills so his reactions were often misleading. Eventually, with the patient guidance of his breed experienced foster family he learned how to be a dog other dogs would want to be around. With that said, he would probably do best in a home where he receives all of the attention. Dash is mischievous so he'll require a vigilant home willing to keep treasured items out of his reach. This handsome guy has an overabundance of energy that needs to be well managed by a Siberian experienced adopter. He'll need to be exercised daily but that could eliminate your need for the health club membership! Due to his intensity, he cannot be placed in a home with children. With all of that said, Dasher has improved tremendously in his foster home. He is now appearing at various public events and is always a fan favorite. If you would like more information about this great dog please submit an application and his foster home will contact you. We have no doubt Dash will thrive in the right home that is committed to keeping him busy! Story
This two year young beauty is ready to find her forever home. Lainey is a typical Husky and will do best with a family prepared for those young Husky antics. She loves people and makes friends wherever she goes. She gets along well with other dogs of similar size and energy level. No small dogs, cats, or critters though, please! Lainey likes to be the center of attention so she’ll do best in a home where her canine siblings will let her be in charge. At times she can be possessive of toys so supervision will be required. Huskies are known to be escape artists and Lainey is no exception. We’ll be looking for a very secure six foot fence that will keep her home safe where she belongs. She will quickly use toys or outdoor furniture to hop over the fence if left unsupervised and will dig under or climb over a fence to go on an adventure. Her family will need to be vigilant and willing to take precautions to keep her home safe! Lainey loves her bed and will happily settle in for a nap if she’s with her people. She’s still working on her crate skills but has made great progress. We highly recommend continuing with that to keep her safe and out of trouble inside your home. Lainey will waste no time to explore and swipe your treasures. Foster Dad’s wallet was amusing! Despite her young Husky mischievousness she takes correction well and is learning how to be a good girl. With positive reinforcement and patience, she will continue to make progress. Lainey has a lovely Siberian voice and loves to sing so your neighbors will need to have an appreciation for her music. An attached home or apartment might not be ideal. Lainey is microchipped, spayed, and fully vetted with current vaccinations. She is so much fun and has a bright future in front of her. She will make a wonderful addition to the right family. WE PROVIDE ADOPTIONS TO THOSE WITHIN A 100 MILE RADIUS OF OUR WEST CHESTER, PA OFFICE. IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE OF THAT AREA PLEASE CONTACT A SHELTER OR RESCUE GROUP IN YOUR AREA. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, microchipped, vaccinated, and evaluated in a private home. YOU WILL FIND DETAILS REGARDING OUR ADOPTION POLICY, PROCESS, FEE, AND APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE (arcticspiritrescue.org). PLEASE BE SURE YOU MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS WE HAVE LISTED FOR EACH PARTICULAR DOG BEFORE APPLYING. No exceptions are made regarding the dog's requirements and we take our time to find the perfect home. No dogs are shown without an approved application. We do not have a kennel facility. All of our dogs are fostered and evaluated in experienced private homes.

Story
We prefer applicants within 1 hour drive of Delaware 19703 area, if farther than this please email us first to see if we can make an exception and please read entire bio before completing an application. Thank you. Skye is one gorgeous pup so we have no doubt that he will have many admirers. Our goal is to find Skye a furever family that has just as much energy as he has and is willing and able to make the commitment to ensure Skye stays happy & healthy, both physically & mentally. At 8 months old and with a family for 4 months, they were moving and unable to take him. They were able to find a rescue to take him as opposed to bringing him to an overcrowded shelter. Skye is a humongous sweetheart. He is a tiny bit caution for about 5 seconds when meeting new people and dogs, but once he gets a sniff he will acts as if he has known you forever . Skye’s previous ppl said Skye is housebroken. Foster mom hasn’t given Skye the opportunity to show her otherwise. As of now he stays in the same room where foster mom is. Skye is still a puppy with puppy behaviors so an eye needs to be on him. His favorite thing is to chew. He has already made great progress, but he’s smart. Any opportunity he thinks he’s going to get away with something, game is ON. He does know ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’, it just depends if he is in the mood to listen. Skye has been introduced to crate training, and he disliked it so much at first. But now he knows foster mom comes back. Once in awhile he still may tinkle in it but we are thinking it’s the heat combined with water intake. Right now Skye is crated when foster mom isn’t home and still at bedtime.skye likes to be outside even in this heat. He’ll find a shaded area in the grass or dirt and lay down. He has learned to love the water too. A small doggie pool to cool the paws, or a spray of the hose is fun too. He enjoys chewing toys, meaning destroying them, but atleast he's not into eat them, and will leave the squeaker for another pup.He definitely needs a yard and 6 foot fence, but he also needs to be walked. He will start pacing to be walked. He loves to be out walking mostly so he can see everyone, he loves people. The minimum right now is in the morning and evening, an hour each. He loves to roll on the cool shaded grass too. He’s not horrible on leash, but definitely needs to ease up, especially in the morning. He would really enjoy to play with a bird, a squirrel or an outside kitty cat. He totally forgets ‘leave it’ in these situations. It’s difficult to get a pup at 8 months who already has been permitted to do things his way and try to reteach everything at once. But he is definitely a smart boy, and tad stubborn. This is foster moms first husky foster and she’s surprised at how much he is like a bill in a China shop, but she is used to little dogs, he’s really not bad, just a big puppy. As far as the shedding, Skye has been introduced to the vacuum so with the right attachment it will be a lot easier to vacuum him than to brush him. He stays a lot more still for the vacuum as opposed to being brushed. He’s really not a big boned male. He’s not done growing but maintaining 40ish pounds. If you would like to meet this handsome pup, please email us for an application, we need to approve your application before setting up a meet. We are a foster based rescue, we don’t have a shelter for you to visit. Skye was neutered, UTD on vaccines, checked for Heartworm and Lyme disease-both are negative, and he is chipped. He’s a thief, just meet him and he will steal your heart! AOLanimalrescue@gmail.com
