Story
Age: 11 years Weight: 30lbs Good with dogs? Would like to be the only dog Good with cats? No Good with kids? No Energy Level: Moderate Adoption Fee: ** 100.00 ** Comes with a free training session with our amazing in home trainer! Any other info: Meet Bo - one of our longest term residents at the shelter. Bo is an 11 year old beagle/terrier mix with scruffy wire fur, soulful eyes, and an irresistible toothy smile. This senior gentleman has had quite the journey. Adopted as a puppy, he found his way back to the shelter at 10 years old when life in a high-traffic home became too overwhelming for him. Now, Bo has been waiting nearly a year for a quiet, loving home where he can finally enjoy the peaceful retirement he deserves. Though Bo can be protective of his space, he's also incredibly sweet and loving once he trusts you. He just needs the right environment—a low-traffic home where he can truly relax, unwind, and be spoiled in his golden years. He’s looking for a family with no kids, cats, or dogs to ensure he can be the sole focus of your love and attention. To help him find his perfect match, our trainer is sponsoring half of Bo's adoption fee and offering a free in-home training session to help his new family and Bo start off on the right paw. We adore Bo here at the shelter, but we know he deserves so much more than these walls and shelter life can offer him. Bo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and kept on prevention here with us. Our hearts are breaking as we watch him quickly approach an entire year sitting in a cage in the shelter watching all the other dogs get their chance at a family. If you have a calm, patient, and loving home, Bo is ready to be your loyal companion. Let’s give this sweet senior the retirement he’s been dreaming of. Please apply through the link below. https://form.jotform.com/201977724595065 Once your application is processed and approved, our adoptions team will reach out to schedule an in person meet and greet with Bo. ------------------------------------------------ Our adoption fees include the pets spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines, heartworm/tick disease testing and fecal check. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Because of his high energy and playful personality he is in need of a place where he can run and play. He is very healty, neutered and fully vaccinated. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hello! I’m Tanbo (now named Snoop). I was adopted from Last Day Dog Rescue as a pup and now see myself back here due to family issues. I’m a very inquisitive pup and like to find my way into many things, but I’m learning that I’m not allowed to do so.  Anything to do with treats and I’ll be right there with you, but if you have your own food, I may sniff it. I really like to play with toys. As long as the toys are not stuffed, we won’t have a mess. I shred them within minutes, so harder chews would be best. I like to go for walks, I’m leash trained with slight pulling but I’m learning how not to do that. While we are out on our walks, I like to sniff everything I can because it’s all so interesting to me. After our long walks I like to curl up on the couch next to my humans and sleep. I enjoy being under the covers with them as well! When meeting new people, I do bark. Once I get to know them, I’m fine. I do get along with other dogs, I just bark a lot. However, I also resource guard my toys, so being an only dog may be best for me. I do chase cats, so I might not be the best with them. My current humans think I may have some separation anxiety, so for now I will have to be in a crate until I calm down and learn they will come back. I was just recently diagnosed with Cushing’s disease so I will be medicated for the rest of my life, but that doesn’t make me any different to love. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 15, 2024, 9:15 am

Attributes Dog friendly Housetrained Playful Snuggly Bonded Medium energy Good with kids over 4 Will potty on leash Good on car rides Get ready to welcome double the love into your life with these two inseparable best friends! This bonded pair is looking for a forever home where they can stay together and continue their adventures. Meet Zoey, the Cautious Explorer: Zoey is approximately 1 year old and 22 pounds. She is quite shy and a bit skittish at first, but once she is comfortable, she is a bundle of playful energy with a tiny bit of mischievousness. She loves toys, balls, and bones, and likes to take them to her own personal space as her prizes. She also likes paper and cardboard. Zoey is very good with other dogs and enjoys running and playing with them. Zoey is experiencing lots of new things, which can be scary sometimes. She looks to Dolly for confidence and security, and she also likes to have a den-like area where she can retreat to when she needs a little extra time to feel safe. Zoey is a very cute, sweet, and happy girl who will meet you with lots of tail wagging and ball playing! Meet Dolly, the Sweet and Gentle Protector: Dolly is approximately 2 years old and 23 pounds. She is the picture of sweetness and affection. She loves snuggling up on the couch for a good cuddle or following you around the house like a devoted shadow. Dolly watches over Zoey and is her silent protector. Dolly is very good with other dogs. She enjoys being part of a pack, running at the dog park, chasing balls, and exploring. She can be a bit cautious and skittish with new things,s but gradually gets acclimated. Dolly greets her people with pure joy, tail wagging and wonderful, gentle hugs. These two are true buddies. They love cuddling up together and exploring the world side-by-side. Adopting them as a pair means you get to experience the double dose of love and companionship that only a bonded pair can offer. These girls would do best in a patient and loving home where they can gradually be introduced to new things. They would love a yard with a fenced yard for safe playtime, exploration, running, and gaining confidence in their surroundings. They would do fine joining a larger pack, and they would welcome lots of belly rubs, affection, toys, exercise,e and most importantly, being with a family that will love them forever. NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
