Story
Meet Red! 🐾Red is a handsome 5-month-old Labrador cross who is ready to find a family of his own. Surrendered alongside his littermates due to unexpected medical costs, Red has already overcome a few challenges in his young life. After an early exposure to parvovirus, he went on to develop Demodex. The good news is that he is currently receiving treatment and poses no health risk to other healthy animals. With all the intelligence, energy, and enthusiasm Labradors are known for, Red is an eager young pup who is ready for adventure. His striking coat colour helps him stand out from the crowd, but it's his cheerful personality that will truly steal your heart.Red is currently learning leash manners and house training and is making excellent progress. As with any young puppy, he will benefit from continued training, consistency, and plenty of positive reinforcement as he grows into a well-mannered companion. If you're looking for a smart, active, and unique young dog to join your family, Red may be the perfect match. Come meet him and see if he's the missing piece of your family! ❤️🐾Do you think you could be Red's person? Here are some ways to find out:1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday 12pm to 5pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or2.)Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs.*Side note: the more you add to your application about you and what you are looking for in a canine companion, the better we can match animals with adopters! Story
Meet Stanley! This big boy came to us after uncertain circumstances in his past. He has a goofy personality and enjoys spending time in the yard, going for walks, and being with his people.Stanley is a strong boy who will need an adult only family that can confidently manage his size and continue working on his manners. Like many giant breeds, he doesn't always realize just how big he is and will benefit from ongoing training and guidance. When Stanley arrived in our care, he was struggling with matted fur. After a much-needed haircut and brush, he's feeling much more comfortable. His future family will need to be committed to regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and looking its best.Stanley is not the biggest fan of other dogs and would likely do best as the only pet in the home. Stanley has been through some big life changes, and can understandable feel a bit anxious a times. He is looking for a family that will take things at his pace and give him the structure, care, and companionship he deserves.Do you think you could be Stanley's person? Here are some ways to find out:1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday 12pm to 5pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or2.)Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Story
* Adopter must be able to transport Ice to upcoming veterinary appointments at SPCA Hospital in Vancouver*Hi my name is Ice!I am an 8 year old French Bulldog, and I am also a very good boy. I am already excited to meet you, sometimes I get so excited I jump with joy! I love saying hi to new friends, dog or human! Sometimes I have a hard time being left alone, it makes me anxious, but I just need time to settle in and feel comfortable. Please don't let my age fool you, I am full of energy!!! I love to go for walks, and not to brag, but I am a great leash walker. The vet has told me that I need a dental and ear cleaning, along with a neuter... I have accepted my fate. So my new family must be able to transport me to these appointments. I also require a hypo-allergenic diet, so I can continue to look and feel my best. I am just so handsome and I want to keep it that way!I have discovered that I can be a bit too much to live with other animals. Although I may be able to make doggy friends out in the world, I would prefer to be the only furry friend in the home. Little kids can get me a bit too riled up, so a home with older kids or teens would be ideal. I look forward to meeting all my new fans!Do you think you could be Ice's person?
