Story

Champ was originally found as a stray in Speedway and was not claimed. During his time at the Speedway Street Department he showed us he is a very good boy, who already knew commands, enjoyed time with humans, and was potty trained. He lives in a foster home with 4 other dogs, and is daycare-approved. He lives with small children, but may be best in a home with older kids. He certainly has a "bull in a china shop" personality, but has started working with a trainer to address habits, like jumping. Champ is a sweet boy who is patiently waiting for his forever home! He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and heartworm negative.

Story

Dublin is an 8 year old, 55 lb husky who is now ready to find his forever home. He was microchipped when he was found, and the owner on his chip stated they re-homed him. They provided info for the new owner, who stated they cannot keep him contained and asked if we could find a better home. Dublin is a sweet boy who gets along with everyone. He loves his orange toy. Like many huskies, he has seizures that are well-controlled with Keppra. He gets along with other dogs. We were told he gets along with cats - however - we have not tested that ourselves. He is crate-trained and potty trained, although he does not need the crate and is not destructive. He is also potty trained. He is a typical husky and will lock you out of your car, like he did to our foster, when you turn your back. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, dewormed, on prevention, and has had blood work that shows he is a healthy dog. As a senior, his adoption fee is 100

Story

Oli is a special boy who joined our family 3.5 years ago as a mischievous pup. We had recently lost a (female) dog, so we welcomed in as a companion for our older (male) dog. They bonded pretty quickly. We were in the country at the time, and they both LOVED having lots of room to play. Circumstances arose, however, forcing us back into the city, and Oli has struggled a bit in that transition... practicing his evasive maneuvers whenever possible. Aside from his bad-boy tendencies, he's full of personality, super snuggly, and loyal to a fault. He recently started to display some aggressive tendencies, so we had him neutered in April. He has lunged at visitors in our home, so we've been training to improve that behavior. He has attacked our other older dog twice causing injury both times, without provocation. He would probably thrive best in a 1-dog home.

Billy’s Mom entered the hospital and Billy found himself left alone in the house. He was confiscated by Animal Control and was lucky enough to become part of Furever We Love. He is blind and hard of hearing but you would never know it.

ax is an approximately 2-3 year old, 50 lb boxer mix. He is a sweet, human-oriented boy. He lives in a home without other dogs or cats, but he has done well being around dogs and we think he would do just fine in a home with other dogs. He is crate-trained and potty-trained, and working on learning to ring bells when he wants to go outside. He's a high-energy boy, but does well using an overhead running line in his foster's yard. Nala, who was adopted from us in November of 2022, is being returned. Although she lived peacefully with other dogs, the recent arrival of a new baby has made Nala protective and is resulting in fights with another dog in the home. Although she is good with dogs (submissive ones are best), I am questioning whether a home without other dogs would be best to prevent a similar situation in the future. I think we will likely need to evaluate on a case-by-case basis. Nala is approx 5 years old. She is 60 lbs and UTD on all vetting. Here is what her foster says: She loves to cuddle with her person and a blanket. She is free fed. She knows sit and paw. She loves having the sliding back door open and looking outside/watching the birds and squirrels She loves sunbathing She loves hiking at Turkey Run She pulls on a leash until she gets worn out, but I have been working on this and she is getting better. With consistency, I have no doubt she will easily transition to not pulling. She is anxious. Follows people around/needs to know what’s going on. She loves being included. She runs to loud noises to see what’s happening instead of running away. She has been in a house with two big dogs that were both submissive and did great until the baby was born. She has lived with two older children She is leery if people move too quickly or try and hug her. She will give a warning bark asking them to stop. She loves belly rubs. She enjoys car rides. Potty trained. Can hold her bladder for a while. She doesn’t need to go out overnight and would rather sleep in than to get up and potty. Not a fan of baths but will let me bathe her (she will not let my husband) Sometimes she will growl, but it’s actually her talking, not being aggressive She enjoys wearing clothes She likes treat puzzles and toys with squeakers, specifically taking the squeakers out of the toys
