Story
Meet Piper—a truly special little lady who’s been waiting far too long to find her forever home. This sweet Miniature Pinscher mix has quite the story. She arrived at Misty Eyes Animal Center from a shelter with her litter of eight puppies, and after lovingly raising them, it’s finally her turn to be cared for and cherished. Piper will be a bit timid at first and can be shy around new people, but with patience, kindness, and a little time, she blossoms into a devoted and affectionate companion. Once you’ve earned her trust, she’ll happily curl up beside you and show just how loving she truly is. At around 3½ years old and 30 pounds, Piper has a playful side—she especially enjoys chasing her favorite ball and letting her joyful spirit shine. Because she can be sensitive to loud noises and unfamiliar situations, she would do best in a calm, quiet home where she can feel safe and secure. Piper finds comfort in her people and forms strong, loyal bonds. With the right family—one that understands her gentle nature and is willing to go at her pace—she will be an incredibly rewarding companion. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this deserving girl, please submit an adoption application at: https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.

Story
Layla is a very pretty Goldendoodle who came to Misty Eyes from a puppy mill, where she was a breeding machine. She is somewhat shy and anxious at first. Despite her fear and anxiety, Layla is good natured and friendly, once she relaxes. She gets along with other dogs well and enjoys back scratches and ear rubs. Layla will need continued training to overcome her fear of entering and exiting the car and to understand what life as a family dog is all about. She has made great strides on leash walking, trusting and following humans with practiced commands. She is crate/potty trained. She has experience being around various dogs, cats, and children. She thrives with a confident dog companion, following their cues to learn dog life. Because of her anxiety, Layla is a flight risk, so will need to be treated with extra caution until she feels comfortable in her new life. Due to her extreme anxiety and inclination to flee, Layla will need a securely fenced yard and an adopter who can commit to working with her to overcome her fear. She may never be an extremely social dog, but can be a great companion to her immediate family and familiar friends. If you have the patience and willingness to help Layla achieve her potential, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication

Story
Honey is a sweet, adorable little Shih-Tzu who was found as a stray and brought to Misty Eyes when an owner could not be found. She weighs around 10 pounds and is estimated to be about 6 years old. We don’t know Honey’s background, but she is an extremely shy and anxious little dog who likely had very little socialization. She is wary of people, other dogs, and new environments. Despite her fears, Honey is very sweet and completely non-aggressive. She will simply need a patient, understanding adopter who can help her slowly learn to trust.Honey appears to be potty trained, whether going outside or using potty pads. She is not crate trained, but she is not destructive when left to free roam in the house. She accepts gentle pets and affection, though she is not yet comfortable seeking attention from people on her own. She tolerates other small dogs but doesn’t really interact with them, and cats frighten her. Because of her anxiety and timid nature, Honey would do best in a calm home without small children. Older, respectful children who understand she needs gentle handling may be a better fit.If you have the patience and kindness to help Honey blossom into the little lap dog she was meant to be, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.

Story
Meet Buck: A Loyal Snuggle Buddy Buck will be 7 years old this year and has been our beloved companion since he was just 8 weeks old. He has grown up with our family and has always been incredibly patient and gentle with our two young children. Buck loves walks, playing fetch, and most of all snuggling. He truly believes he’s a lap dog and is happiest curled up close to his people. He thrives on love and attention and would do best in a home where he can be part of the family. He has lived with cats and done wonderfully with them. He also plays well with other dogs, especially those his size or smaller. Larger dogs can make him a bit nervous, but he has never shown aggression. Rehoming Buck has been a very difficult decision due to our son’s allergy and health issues. We hope to find him a loving home where he can get the attention he deserves. 🐾

Story
Meet handsome Copper, a striking 5-year-old pup with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life! After the sad loss of his owner, Copper was surrendered to a shelter. He’s now safe in a Misty Eyes foster home while he waits for a loving forever family to call his own. Weighing 52 pounds, Copper is believed to be an Irish Setter / Border Collie mix — a combination that often brings together intelligence, athleticism, and enthusiasm. True to his heritage, Copper is friendly, outgoing, and full of energy. He gets along well with other dogs, especially those close to his size, and would thrive with an active family. He is somewhat anxious and becomes distressed with too much activity in the home. He would do best in a quiet home without a great many visitors and noise, but with owners able to provide the physical and mental stimulation he needs. If you’re looking for a loyal walking buddy, hiking companion, or adventure partner, Copper may be the perfect match for you. If you’re ready to give this wonderful boy the fresh start he deserves, please submit an adoption application online at: https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.
