Story
This saddens me as I’ve had Shamus since he was a baby pup. It has been very difficult for me to find a home to rent who will accept him as well. He’s 11 years old. He absolutely loves people and their attention of course. I believe sometimes he thinks he’s human. He doesn’t really like to play dog games like fetch or even play with dog toys. He’s very content just hanging out with people. Shamus did grow up with other dogs and a cat. It’s only been the last 3 years that he has been the only dog in the house. He always got along with his family dogs, but I’ve noticed he’s not as friendly to stranger dogs on the streets. For e.g, walking on a leash, his hair will stand and he’ll become very attentive in the presence of another dog and tend to pull toward them. Some of it is normal dog behavior, but he doesn’t warm up so easily. He has always been a loving sweet dog towards people. Shamus will do well with either family or individuals who love giving him their upmost attention.

IDGSR Welcomes DAKOTA into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN MASSACHUSETTS & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Hi there! My name is Dakota and I’m a handsome 5yr old Shepherd mix. I’m originally an IDGSR dog and have been welcomed back into the rescue due to some life changes with my current family. I know my forever family is out there, I hope it will be with you! *PERSONALITY* I’m a super great dog. I’m friendly with all people that I meet, I’m house & kennel trained, I love to play but don’t have all that crazy puppy energy. I like to go on adventures, play tug, and go anywhere with you. *TRAINING* I already know several commands: paw, off, & wait. I’m very smart and think it would be so cool to learn some more advanced obedience commands. Doing this will help me bond to you & make sure I’m the bestest boy. *IDEAL HOME* My forever home will be with a loving person or family, one that will give me a lot of love and attention. I’d like a yard to play in, a comfy bed to lounge on, and to take walks or go on outings. If you are looking for a loving, mature, smart, and handsome best friend - I’m you guy! IDGSR Welcomes TOBY into the safety of the rescue!! ************** Howdy! The name is Toby & I'm a handsome & polite 5-yr male German Shepherd. I am located near the Greenville, Tennessee area but am available for transport. I'm affectionate, loving, and have decent manners. I have a very nice personality, I love to have my ears and chin scratched. I could benefit from some obedience training just to make sure I am very respectful. I am a good listener and pretty smart so I'm sure I'll catch on quickly. I do well with other large dogs. It would be best if I was around a large female just to be safe. If you have kids in your home, it is best they be 12-yrs and older. If you are looking for a handsome, active, loving, and awesome boy - I'm your guy! ************** ***IMPORTANT ADOPTION INFORMATION*** -ALL dogs are fostered in TENNESSEE unless otherwise noted -We do transport dogs to the east coast; a transport fee will apply -All dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations, heart-worm testing, monthly preventatives, & are spayed or neutered -Puppies under 6-months of age will require a SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT, a portion of the adoption fee will be refunded upon documentation of the spay/neuter -An application must be submitted before scheduling an appointment to meet a dog -Dogs are introduced to prospective adopters BY APPOINTMENT ONLY -Due to the high volume of emails we receive, first priority will be given to those with submitted applications -All rescue work is done by dedicated volunteers, please be respectful of their time -Not able to adopt? IDGSR Welcomes JAZZ into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Hiya! My name is Jazz and I'm a loving 1yr Shepherd/Malinois mix gal. I'm medium in size, about 50pounds, and sweet as can be. I am located near the Greeneville, Tennessee area and am available for transport to my forever home. I was rescued from a scary shelter in Memphis and have learned what love in a foster home is. I am looking for active home, one that will play with me and get me the exercise I crave. Also, I love to snuggle & I hope you do too! My foster mom says I'm a sweet pea, energetic, loving, and a bundle of fun. I play well with both male and female dogs. I hope you have a nice doggo for me to play with. Since I am a young girl, I will greatly benefit from obedience training. I'm super smart & quick on my feet, I'll learn anything you can teach me! If you have a ball or yummy treats, I'll do anything you want! If you are looking for a medium size, affectionate, loving, energetic, and adventurous new bestie - I'm your girl!
