Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Max is a big mush who will brighten your life with his smiles and big paws. He's a sweet guy who's eager to please. With medium energy, he enjoys a day full of attention from his people, and many naps. He’s good with female dogs - he’d adore having a lady Pyr in his furever home! He knows "sit" and is more than willing to do so at your command - just watch his videos! Max is a very smart pup and a little training will go a long way to making him the perfect Pyr companion. Max is housebroken and learning to walk on leash. This pup is good-natured and happy to oblige your commands, but having treats on hand will make him sit faster. He prefers to be inside, and is a cuddle-bug who will hang on your every word. He’s a breeze to groom, as he loves being brushed (it’s just more attention, after all!). Max’s ideal home will be in a quieter setting, have a 6-foot fence, a female Pyr to pal around with, and strong, loving leadership from people who are experienced in working with large, intelligent breeds - he needs a dog/Pyr-savvy human to provide him structure and routine. Fill out our online application below if you'd like us to arrange a meeting with Max! Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.  March 7, 2026, 10:15 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Krissa is a playful, sweet-natured Great Pyrenees who lights up every room she enters. With her bright smile, playful energy, and gentle heart, she’s the kind of pup who makes you fall for her without even trying. She came to rescue with her siblings and has quickly shown just how loving and eager&#226&#128&#145to&#226&#128&#145please she is. She appears to be housebroken, settles quietly in her crate, and loves dragging her blanket around to create the perfect nap nest. On leash, she’s friendly and curious, happily greeting people and dogs, and she’s learning to take treats politely. Playtime is Krissa’s love language. She’ll run, leap, and wrestle with any willing dog and lights up when you toss a rope toy or ball. She needs a 5-foot securely fenced yard where she can safely stretch her legs, play, and do what Pyrs love most—patrol her space with pride. When introduced to cats, she was gentle and respectful, lowering her head to let them rub on her nose. She hasn’t met children yet, but her sweet, social nature suggests she’d be a wonderful companion for respectful kids. Indoors, she’s gone from unsure to enthusiastic explorer, heading straight to the toy box and then settling in close to her people for affection, conversation, and all the love she can soak up. She’s also a dream for grooming—an absolute gift for a fluffy Pyr. Krissa would thrive with a playful dog buddy but would also be perfectly happy as an only dog with regular playdates or doggie daycare. What she wants most is a family who will enjoy her joyful spirit, keep her toy box full, offer plenty of treats, and give her a soft bed and a heart full of love. If you’re looking for a young Pyr lady who brings sunshine, silliness, and endless affection, Krissa is ready to be your girl!   NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Krissa in KY  Age: 10 mos old as of March 2026  Color: White  Dew Claws: Yes, Single  Estimated Adult Weight: 80 lbs  Current Location: NGPR approved foster in Richmond, KY  Medical: Spayed, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Are you looking for a sweet, friendly, eager-to-join-in-any-fun companion? Milo the Pyr/Husky mix may be the pyrfect boy for you. Milo's cuteness is seriously over-the-top, and he brings his A-game to every interaction, every chance he gets. If you are bored with muttering to yourself with no response, Milo will happily chime in and give you his opinion! In fact, the second thing on Milo's wish list is to have his own radio show for all things pup-related. What is the first thing on Milo's wish list, you ask? - His very own furever family, of course! This playful boy has the most delightful pyrsonality, and he will thrive in a home where he is engaged in every aspect of the household. Milo would also love it if his furever people are willing to teach him all kinds of tricks, because he is VERY EAGER to learn and show off his skills. He is already crate trained and knows “sit,” and “down.” He gets along with both male and female dogs of all sizes, from the tiniest Mini Dachshund to the biggest Great Pyrenees! Milo’s ideal home will have a big, 6-foot fenced-in yard (don’t worry, he doesn’t dig!), and an active family that has Husky experience. He’d be happy with or without other canine companions. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Lillie is a stunning Great Pyrenees girl with that classic Pyr look everyone adores, and a wonderfully soft fur coat that begs to be petted! This sweet girl has mastered her crate training and knows basic obedience commands including “sit,” “down,” and “wait,” and she's working on perfecting her leash manners. With a medium activity level, Lillie is a lovely balance of playful and relaxed, and she's content in a 4.5-foot fenced yard with no desire whatsoever to escape. She gets along with other dogs (she calmly ignores the neighbor pups) and has proven herself wonderful with new people on her many walks—she even handled being passed to a stranger with grace when her foster had a fall. Lillie keeps her barking to a minimum, though she'll happily join in an appropriate howl session when the trains race by on the nearby tracks or planes fly overhead (she's convinced she can catch them both!). This charming girl enjoys both indoor and outdoor time but prefers to have her people nearby when she's outside. She's a bit hesitant about hopping into the car and needs some coaxing, but once she's in, she's perfectly fine. Lillie has a preference for dining solo before rejoining the fun, and she's absolutely crazy about Peanut Butter Ritz Bits, which make excellent training treats. Her very best quality? - This loving girl adores being loved on and would happily sit in your lap all day if you'd let her! An active home where she'll get plenty of attention and affection would be absolutely perfect for this Pyr princess. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Frosty, a gentle giant with a heart as pure as his name! This sweet Pyr boy has come such a long way from his difficult start—he was found wandering as a stray in Louisiana, suffering from a badly broken leg and weighing just 57 pounds, about half of what he should have been. But thanks to dedicated rescue efforts and wonderful foster care, Frosty has blossomed into the lovable, laid-back companion he was always meant to be! Now fully healed and thriving, this medium-energy boy is completely housebroken, leash trained, and crate trained. He knows basic commands like “sit” and “come,” and he's proven himself to be an absolute sweetheart in his foster home where he peacefully coexists with five cats and five other dogs of various sizes, both male and female. Frosty is a bit shy when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly once he feels safe. He's not a digger and barks when he needs to go outside. This handsome boy enjoys lounging outside in cool weather, but is equally content relaxing indoors. He enjoys the occasional brushing session and absolutely melts for head scratches and belly rubs. True to his Pyr heritage, Frosty loves to act as your protector on walks, trying to herd you to keep you safe—it's completely endearing! His ideal home is a quiet, peaceful environment where he can continue his favorite activity: being wonderfully lazy! Frosty just wants to be your devoted companion and champion cuddler. He has an enormous capacity for love and snuggles. A 5-foot fence and people who love to dish out the rubs are the top things that this sweet boy needs to live his best life!
