Story
Ted (also known as Teddy, Tedward, and inexplicably, Zachary) is a 25-pound mixed breed boy with a big personality packed into a compact frame. At heart, Ted is a rough-and-tumble guy who loves to run, wrestle, zoom, or simply co-exist depending on the vibe. He matches well with other dogs and feels more confident and at ease with a canine companion, so a home with an existing dog is a must. Ted is still learning that the world — and humans — are safe, and he grows braver every day. He’s the perfect balance of adventure buddy for afternoon hikes and cuddle partner for bedtime snuggles. Ted does have some mild stress-related hair loss, but his skin is under observation with our veterinary team and is already improving. Take a chance on Ted — whatever name you choose, he’s ready to be your loyal, goofy sidekick.

Story
Meet Petunia 🌸 Petunia’s story started with hardship, but you’d never know it from the way she looks at the world now. She was found as a stray by a couple on vacation — severely underweight and covered in bite wounds from other dogs. Since coming into Sarge’s Animal Rescue, Petunia has received the medical care, nutrition, and gentle support she needed to heal. Through it all, she’s kept her heart wide open and her eyes forward. Petunia is a total people-lover who dreams of being the spoiled lap dog she was always meant to be. She bonds quickly with humans, loves attention, and is happiest when she’s snuggled up close to her person. She walks nicely on a leash, enjoys staying cozy in a warm sweater, and never says no to a good Kong. Because of her past experiences, Petunia can be avoidant with other dogs. However, she does well with calm, polite, and respectful pups who give her space and move at her pace. She hasn’t met cats yet, but with slow, thoughtful introductions, we believe she could adjust well. Petunia is still discovering what it feels like to be truly loved and safe — and she’s more than ready to give that love right back. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will cherish every cuddle, Petunia is your girl.

Story
Meet Ginny, a sweet 5-year-old girl who has officially completed her heartworm treatment and is ready to find her forever family! Throughout her recovery, she has been soaking up all the love and attention in her foster home, and it’s clear how much she enjoys being around people. Ginny is gentle, laid-back, and impossible not to fall in love with—she’s the kind of dog who makes every day feel a little brighter. Ginny is amazing with kids and has lived with other dogs and cats, making her a truly adaptable companion. She has a soft spot for plush toys, and you’ll often find her happily snuggling with one (or trying to sneak it into your bed!). Despite her love of toys, she’s well-behaved, only begs a little, and enjoys quiet time as much as playtime. She’s house trained, crate trained, and a dream on car rides, making her an easy addition to almost any household. Ginny’s calm demeanor paired with her playful side makes her a perfect balance of sweet and fun—she’s just the kind of dog that makes you feel at home the moment she’s around. Ginny is currently living in her foster home, so scheduled appointments are needed to meet this lovable lady. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who will bring joy to your life every day, Ginny might just be the perfect match!

Story
Jolene is an 8-year-old hound who is more than ready to finally start her life in a home of her own. She’s a big, beautiful lady at around 65 pounds, complete with oversized ears, extra neck skin, and all the classic hound charm you could ask for. True to her breed, Jolene experiences the world through her nose. She loves following scents wherever they lead and isn’t shy about using her beautiful singing voice to let you know what she’s thinking. Around other dogs, Jolene is calm and mostly indifferent—happy to coexist without the drama. Where Jolene truly shines is with people. She loves every human she meets and soaks up attention like it’s her full-time job. With her mellow energy and affectionate nature, she’s past the puppy chaos and ready for a life full of cozy naps, sniffy walks, and a family who appreciates a soulful hound with plenty of personality. Story
Meet Cher — a petite pitbull mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart 💖 At just 2 years old and 32 pounds, Cher is smaller than she looks in photos but packed with charm, love, and playful energy. Cher’s story began when she was found as a stray while pregnant. She spent time in a caring foster home where she safely raised her puppies and proved what a devoted, resilient mama she is. Now that her babies have grown, it’s finally Cher’s turn to find the forever home she deserves. Cher is crate trained, housetrained, and highly food motivated, which makes continued training fun and rewarding. She settles in nicely once she feels comfortable but still has plenty of playful spirit — expect zoomies, toy time, and happy bursts of energy. When playtime is over, Cher’s favorite place is right next to her people, curled up and cuddling. She does well with cats and can be dog selective, so dog meets are recommended to ensure the right fit. Cher would thrive with a family who will give her both affection and outlets for her playful side. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly companion who’s ready to love with her whole heart, Cher is ready to steal yours.
