Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Piper is a very sweet 2 year old girl.  She is a parvo survivor who loves to give kisses, play in the snow, and eat. Piper still has some puppy energy and needs to be able to run around and play. She is a very smart girl who learns quickly. When Piper came into foster, she was very timid. She has learned that she can trust people but does startle at times. Her ideal family would be one who would provide consistent positive reinforcement. She has met a few kids and thought they were pretty cool. She loves to play with her canine foster brother. She thinks the foster kitties are very interesting and loves when they spill their tasty food. She would need supervision when meeting new cats as she's a bit too forward for the liking of some felines. Piper is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All animal breeds and ages are a best estimate May 9, 2024, 11:17 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Woody is about a year, maybe a year and a half old. Weighs roughly 15 lbs.  He is a good mixture of super playful and binge watch t.v. shows energy with his humans. When it comes to playmates he can play ROUGH. i need to stress this as he will growl and bark and some dogs could easily read him wrong. BUT, I really think he needs a young playful dog to hang with and has made a few doggy friends in the past couple of months that match his energy  He can be a little hoarder with new toys and it takes him a little while to want to share them. He was quite a bit sheltered in his previous life and new things can be scary to him. With some redirection and patience he has been doing great. He is still scared of the dark and small children. He LOVES to play with older kids and Im thinking maybe 6/7 and up would be good for him. He does not like to be in his crate and would require someone who maybe is a stay at home parent or works from home? When left for long periods he can get stressed which can lead to throwing up. He has always liked our cats and even gets along with our old grumpy one. Its been a non issue from the get go. He does pretty well on a leash but will bark at people outside (bikes, passers-by, neighbors). So that needs to be worked on still. I think a fenced yard would be great for him but he would be able to climb a chain link and he will dig given an opportunity so he will still need to be either walked on a leash or someone will have to watch him outdoors. He is potty trained but does not alert when needing to poop so we have kept him on a schedule of pottying after meals which has worked well for the most part. He does have some barrier aggression when there is a dog outside a gate or his crate. It has never gone further than his growling/barking but It sounds super scary when he is doing it which has made for interesting introductions to new dogs. (He will still growl at his best friend if she approaches when he is in his crate) (it is completely workable just wanted to prepare any new adopter to this behavior). He usually warms up fast to new people in the house. He is a little lover boy. Car rides. We haven't been able to do much with car rides with him. My only concern here would be that he was secure before any doors open as he moves very fast and I would be concerned he would bolt out a door. Car seat and seat belt maybe? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Here is his bio: Rex is a lover and teddy bear. He finds his one human and follows that person around all day. He likes to run around the backyard, nap on the softest blankets, and get belly rubs. He is discovering his love for toys and will play by himself with them. Rex is still working on not marking in the house, begging, and jumping on the counter for food. Also, Rex will need a secure yard and be watched when he is outside as he is a digger and a jumper. Rex is best suited for a home with other dogs as he has separation anxiety, a home that can give him the love and attention he deserves, and place to call his furever!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All animal breeds and ages are a best estimate May 9, 2024, 11:17 am

Story
Chorizo is a total goofball that absolutely loves water and doing outdoorsy things, like rolling around in the grass and getting his paws dirty! He loves a good game of fetch and will do quite literally anything for a piece of food! He loves going on car rides and will guarantee to make you laugh. He is very smart and knows sit, down, stay, place, heel, and spin! This chunky guy is quirky, funny, and thrives off of routine. He is looking for a semi active home where he is not around other animals. Chorizo would do best with older humans since he is a lot of dog and needs people that continue to help him be the best version of himself! He would prefer a home with a privacy fence but it is not mandatory.Chorizo is looking for someone willing to believe in him. Someone willing to uncover the "diamond in the ruff" and give him the chance he desperately needs. Are you that someone? Contact us at dgrisham@lenhumanesoc.org or give us a call at 517-263-3463 to learn more about Chorizo and sign up to adopt him at lenhumanesoc.orgP.S. Ted Aranda is offering several free training sessions to help set you up for success and to help Chorizo acclimate to home life with you! Even if you aren't local, we'll make sure you have his phone number!

Story
Odi is a very loving dog, he is 2 years old and he will be 3 in May. he is full of energy and loves to run a lot. He can get separation anxiety when left alone for long periods of time, but I feel like with the right person and enough space he will grow out of it. He’s house trained and knows basic commands like sit and shake. Odi would like to go somewhere that has a lot of room for him to run and maybe even a friend, he loves to play with other dogs.

Story
Bella first found herself homeless when she was only a few weeks old. Now, 6 years later, this poor girl is back in our shelter and she isn't having the best time. When out of the shelter, Bella just wants to be with people! She loves to push against you for a butt scratch and is absolutely obsessed with playing ball! Bella is a volunteer favorite because she is such a great walker and love to just hang out. Here is a little bit more about this special girl:· She LOVES car rides ?? · She is housetrained. · She is good with other dogs ?? · She is medium energy. She likes walks and playing but can also curl up on the couch and chill. · Knows her name and comes when called. · Tennis balls are her fav ?? · Knows basic commands! · Scared of loud noises and linoleum floor. · Talkative girly that will howl at you ?? · Prefers a low traffic, quiet home because she can get overwhelmed quickly!Bella is currently in the limelight, which means her adoption fee is only $50! Sign up to foster or adopt Bella at lenhumanesoc.org!Can't adopt? Share this post to help Bella girl find her new family!
