Story
He's a 5 1/2-year-old good boy who can't help but smile at the thought of someone adopting him! 😄 About Jackson: 💖 Super sweet and affectionate with people — he adores attention and cuddles. 💖 A calm, steady companion — enjoys walks, car rides, and relaxing in the shade. 💖 Dog‑selective, meaning Jackson does best when he is the only dog in the home (or with very carefully matched canine friends). What Makes Him Great: ⭐ All‑around good boy — trustworthy, house‑trained, and reliable. ⭐ Medium energy — he loves his walks and playtime, but also enjoys downtime. ⭐ Loyal and sweet — he wants a person (or family) who gives him patience, love, and consistency. What Jackson Needs in His Forever Home: 🐶 A calm environment where he can be the only furry companion (or under supervision with other dogs). 🐶 Someone who understands what it means to be “dog‑selective” and can help him adjust. 🐶 A family who will give him some time to warm up, love on his terms, and keep up with basic training/routine. If you're interested in adopting Jackson, contact our Humane Services division at 281-316-3709!

Story
Melly is a sweet, loyal 4-year-old intact female with a big heart and lots of energy. She bonds closely with her people and thrives with structure, exercise, and companionship. Melly does best as the only pet, as she has no experience with other dogs or animals or children. She has some food guarding with her meals and mild separation anxiety, so she’ll need a patient, understanding home that can give her space while eating and help her feel secure. Overall, Melly is a kind, loving dog who will be a devoted companion in the right home.

Story
I actually acquired her through a vet after she was brought in from being hit by a car. I took her home with a cast on her leg and have had her since which was about 7-8 years ago. She loves to snuggle, but also loves to play as if she is still a puppy. She is great with other animals and children, but as I am working full time I do not have to spoil her as she deserves.

Setting You & Your New Companion Up for Success We are committed to long-term success for both adopters and animals. When you adopt from Lifeline, you also receive: Ongoing support from our team Access to our adopter community and resources Guidance on decompression, slow introductions, and adjustment Rescue pets often need time, sometimes weeks or months, to fully settle in and show their true personalities. We look for adopters who understand that patience, structure, and love make all the difference. Our Impact Since opening our adoption center, Lifeline of Galveston County has helped over 1,800 pets find loving homes, and we’re just getting started. When you adopt from Lifeline, you don’t just save one life, you make room for the next animal who desperately needs help.
