Story
Meet Piper. 5.5-6 yrs old. She’s been fully vetted and is ready for adoption. Piper came from a local shelter as a stray. Her medical has been lengthy and expensive as she went through heartworm treatment and had entropian surgery for one of her eyes. That’s where they fix the eyelashes from rolling inward and scratching the eye causing it to weep from irritation. She’s all healthy and feeling great. Piper is sweet, playful and mostly obedient. She is completely housebroken. Though Piper likes to play with other dogs she needs to be in a no other dog home since she resource guards her food. She would just love having a person she can snuggle on the couch with. We had Piper DNA’d and she is 50/50 smooth collie & husky. You may apply for Piper at https://houstoncollierescue.org/ado.../adoption-application/We adopt anywhere in Texas, OKC and Louisiana.

Story
This is Kali she does great with commands, she is a house dog but loves to be outside. She is very playful always wants to play with other dogs and kids. We have a bell on our door and she will go and hit it whenever she needs to go outside, she will let you know when she wants to eat or drink water. She is 9 months old. We just want her to be able to have a new loving family who loves her and will be able to take great care of her. We unfortunately want to give her a new home because we have a newborn and it’s just too much on us having two dogs.

Story
Lily is an 18 month old Collie / Australian Cattle Dog mix who loves learning with her person! At just 41 lbs, she is agile, fine boned, and petite with velvety-soft short fur and the sweetest eyes. Lily would prefer a home without cats and small animals. She would like to be the only object of her person’s affection, or have a dog friend who is bigger than her and doesn’t mind some rough-and-tumble play at times. She likes to rule the roost, but will accept redirection from dogs who are larger than her. Lily loves to sit in your lap, but won’t smother you with kisses. She just wants to be close to you. Since Lily is 50% Cattle Dog, she is very intelligent but also cautious of new situations, choosing to observe and settle in with her person rather than burst into the room with gusto. She is enrolled with AKC Canine Partners which means she can use her excellent brain to compete in a variety of AKC events. She has even already started Scent Work training! Lily is so smart, she knows how to open some gates and wire crates to let her friends out to play with her, or get the remaining tidbits of food they left over. A simple clip keeps that from happening. Lily is crate trained, but instead sleeps in a doggie-safe room at night and while unsupervised. She walks well on a leash and sticks close to her person. She prefers treats over toys (especially those with stuffing…she operates on them quite quickly!) and is very food motivated. Her current family will help make the transition successful and give you tips on keeping Lily’s mind sharp and engaged. Ready for a loving companion who will watch a movie with you, but also get you off your feet to train and play? Apply to adopt Lily at houstoncollierescue.org.

Story
I have had him since he was about 3 months old, originally purchased from a breeder. After about a year, he stayed with my mother when I moved out. Due to my current living situation (I have cats at home) and my mother moving into an apartment that does not allow pets, we are unfortunately no longer able to keep him. We want to make sure he finds a safe and suitable home for his senior years. the dog prefer eatting chicken meat instead dry dog food.

Story
Meet the life of the party — Kenny! Kenny is a friendly, medium-sized rough coat male collie with a heart as big as his beautiful smile. At seven years old, this handsome sable and white boy is healthy, happy, and ready to find the loving forever home he deserves. After being surrendered when his elderly owner was hospitalized, Kenny has shown nothing but resilience, sweetness, and an incredible love for people and other dogs alike. Kenny is social, well-adjusted, and always eager to make new friends. He greets his foster parents and strangers with bright eyes, a wagging tail, and joyful enthusiasm. He truly thrives around others and gets along wonderfully with every dog he has met. Whether he’s joining the fun or simply soaking up attention, Kenny brings warmth and happiness everywhere he goes. This sweet boy enjoys walks and does very well on a leash. He loves keeping an eye on the world from the window — especially watching for deer or the latest Amazon delivery — and he’s always ready for a car ride adventure. One of Kenny’s favorite things in the world is having his ears scratched, and he will happily lean in for extra affection. Kenny’s gorgeous full rough coat makes him especially striking, but it’s his loving personality that truly shines. He is neutered, fully vetted, crate trained, and recently learned to be house trained. He currently sleeps comfortably in his crate at night and has adjusted beautifully to life in foster care. Kenny would likely thrive in almost any environment. While he could do well as an only dog, his social nature suggests he would love having another canine companion to share life with. Although he hasn’t been around cats in his foster home, his gentle and accepting temperament indicates he could likely coexist peacefully with them if introduced properly. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a social butterfly, and a gentle soul wrapped in a fluffy collie coat, Kenny may just be your perfect match.
