Story
Meet Oliver or as we call him, Ollie! Ollie’s journey hasn’t been easy. When he was first rescued, he was nearly hairless and suffering from painful, mange ridden skin (see last photo). He had been on the euthanasia list at a municipal shelter. A volunteer and a foster fell in love with him, a rescue said yes, and hence started Ollie’s healing journey. Fast forward a few months, he is a handsome, happy, and full of life boy! Most of his fur has grown back beautifully, though he still has a bald patch around his neck and shoulders that may never fully regrow. But honestly, It just adds to his charm. His glow-up is truly something special. Ollie is one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. His fosters call him their “golden child” because he’s just about perfect. Ollie is fantastic with every person he meets, including kids, and he absolutely adores other dogs. Ollie is both potty trained and kennel trained. He loves playing with other dogs, chewing on toys, going on walks, car rides, and just chilling. His foster family absolutely adores him, and watching him blossom has been nothing short of heartwarming. Ollie does need weekly baths to keep his skin healthy but they are quick and easy, and he is very cooperative. He is estimated to be around 6-7 years old and weighs about 55 lbs. If you think Ollie is your next best friend apply today: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DSTR/Dog Ollie is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, but is available in many cities around the country. The adoption fee includes the cost of transport.

Story
Meet Dax!Breed: Teacup Shepherd/Pittie MixAge: ~1 yearWeight: ~30 lbsLooking for a sweet, snuggly sidekick? Meet Dax, a lovable Pittie mix who’s ready to steal your heart, and maybe your lap, too!Dax is a gentle, medium-energy boy who adores his people and loves nothing more than curling up for cuddles and giving soft kisses. He’s a bit shy at first, but once he warms up, you’ll see his goofy, affectionate personality shine through. He’s currently living with several other dogs (nine, to be exact!) and gets along great with them. While he’s shown a little food-guarding around human meals, he responds well to correction and has done beautifully with structured feeding routines.House & Crate Training:Dax is doing fantastic with his potty training — he knows to go outside and is great about holding it. He’s okay in his crate, though he’ll sometimes “chat” if he knows you’re home (he just doesn’t want to miss out on the fun!).Other Notes:Great with other dogsCats & kids: unknownWalks nicely on leash, no reactivity observedNo aggression or separation anxiety notedLoves toys, especially noisy ones (the crinklier, the better!)May indulge in a bit of backyard digging if left alone (he might have a little mole in him).Dax would thrive in a loving home where he can continue to build confidence and get plenty of affection. He’d enjoy having a friendly dog buddy to play with, but he’d also do well as the only pup if he gets lots of human attention. If you’re looking for a loyal, tenderhearted companion with a silly side, Dax is your guy! Dax is currently in a loving foster home in the Houston, Texas area. He is able to travel out of state!Adoption application: https://www.this-is-houston.org/adopt/adopt-application

Story
If you`re looking for a goofy lil sidekick, Fergus is your man! He`s estimated to be about a year and half - we think he`s pretty young still with his puppy-like characteristics at times. Fergus is a little guy at only 10 lbs - thinking he`s a teacup husky mix because he loves to show off his howling skills. He`s never met a dog he wasn`t fast friends with. His foster home has a variety to choose from, as he`s one of 7 in the house. When he`s not playing with his foster buddies, you can find Fergus cuddled up with his humans. He would do best in a home with another young, playful dog, as he isn`t a fan of being by himself. This sweet boy will be a great addition and bring plenty of entertainment to the house with his silly antics.

Story
Meet Honey! Honey is a 7-8 year old Pittie mix who’s all about the quiet, cozy life. At around 60 lbs, she’s got the perfect size to cuddle up next to you on the couch or nap the day away. Despite her past, she’s one of the sweetest and most tolerant dogs you’ll ever meet—especially once she trusts you.Honey gets along with all other dogs, big or small, though she’s more of a `chill companion` than an active player. Puppies can be a bit much for her (she’s not a fan of face-to-face puppy energy!), but she’s great with adults and older dogs. She’s not at all aggressive, and will happily move away from food or toys if another dog or person approaches—no guarding here! This lady is house trained, does well in her crate, and is very calm around kids (ages 7-17). While she’s gentle and patient with them, Honey would probably do best in a home with older children who are a little more mindful of her need for a calm environment. Loud, fast movements or sudden noises do startle her, and she might retreat to another room, but that’s just her way of saying, “I need a little space.” Honey’s energy level is on the lower side, so she’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a quieter, more relaxed dog. She’s not a fan of loud or busy environments, but with some patience and love, she’s really come a long way. Honey is a little more nervous around men but has made real progress, even initiating contact with her foster dad and older foster brother. Honey is looking for a family who understands her need for patience and kindness. With a stable, loving dog by her side to give her emotional support, she’ll continue to blossom and show her true, affectionate nature. If you’ve got a calm, patient household and a soft spot for a sweet soul who’s been through a lot, Honey might be the perfect addition to your family. Could Honey be your loyal, gentle companion? Come meet her today! Honey is in a loving foster home in the Houston, TX area. Adoption application: https://www.this-is-houston.org/adopt/adopt-application
