Story
Onyx is a 2.5 year old Rottie pup who is a really sweet but shy boy. He loves to play with his rottie foster brother, and have zoomies, He would do great as a single child. Onyx still has a lot of puppy behavior. He is very strong, and needs a strong handler who will not mind occasional pulling on the leash. He is very affectionate and loving. When his foster mom is standing next to him outside and tells him to sit, he immediately does so and then he'll offer his paw if she says "shake". Then if she asks "pets?", he puts his head up against her leg and he gets pets. By then he usually melts to the ground and ends up upside down, seeking belly rubs. He is very smart and sensitive. Positive reinforcement in the form of treats and verbal praise is highly effective to teach him replacement behaviors. A home with a fully fenced yard is mandatory, as well as a parent who has had rottweiler experience. Onnie came from a high kill shelter where he was surrendered by his previous owner. He was very scared when we first got him, but with decompression, he has now settled down. Onyx is currently about 80 lb and growing, fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative, and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. Sweet Onyx is being fostered in Houston, and can be adopted in a radius of 200 miles. To be considered to adopt Onyx, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.

Story
Justice is an extremely loving and loyal pup, who is hungry for love and longing for his own parents to bond with. He needs an experienced adopter, as he is quite big and protective. Justice is extremely smart and soulful. He is very obedient and eager to please. He is great with commands. He is extremely velcro and will follow you everywhere and protect you fiercely. He will love to play fetch with you and go for a swim whenever you want. He is very, very intelligent and very low maintenance. He prefers laying at your feet or sitting with you more than anything. When he’s active, Justice loves playing fetch, his favorite game! A fully fenced yard will be mandatory in his life. We do not know how he is with kids as he has never lived with children. But he is big, so he can knock them down. Therefore we prefer a home without young kids. Justice is a very affectionate dog who loves being pet and adores all toys, although he doesn’t care to share them with his doggy friends. He does resource guard food from other dogs, so he will need to eat in a separate room or kennel. Justice enjoys walks but is wary of other people. He loves his people with all his heart and is definitely a protector. He gets along with some cats but not all, so that needs to be taken into consideration. This big baby loves to try and sit in his foster dad's lap, which is quite endearing! He loves playing, showering love, and is generally a happy pup. Justice gets along with most dogs but prefers those who do not jump on him. He would be great with older pups or dogs his age that are docile. Hyper dogs can annoy him sometimes and make him grumpy. Snacks need to be given separately since he doesn’t like to share them with his friends. Overall, Justice is a big love bug who thrives in a loving environment Justice weighs 75 lbs, and is fully vaccinated for 3 years, neutered, and microchipped. Justice has completed 6 months of board and train, and his trainer will offer complimentary training for life now, either in person or by facetime or video chat. He is a great pup, full of love. He loves car rides. He needs a strong parent who he can look up to, and he will be the best child forever. Yards must be fully fenced to adopt Justice. To meet this lovely boy, please send an application via savesomesouls.com or email savesomesoulsrescue@gmail.com

Story
5 yo Axel and his sister Canada were rescued by their foster mom from a backyard breeder, and it was clear that they have gone through a lot in life. They are now looking for their forever home, where they can chase each other and play in a fully fenced yard. Axel and Canada are very calm and quiet husky -malamute pups. They both enjoy being outside and going on car rides. They know the leashes very well. They get very excited, so they will pull when walking them. They need a dog owner with active lifestyles and plenty of time. They know to shake before going into the house. They know their beds. They know to sit before taking a snack. They both enjoy being outside chewing on a rawhide-free toy under the sun. I know they’re huskies, but they do like sun-bathing. Canada is the female black and white Siberian Husky. She is about 60 lbs. She enjoys lower back scratches and being brushed. Canada likes to watch and stare at anything you do. She is a curious girl. She is still hesitant about humans. So please be easy and slow with her. She likes to start by smelling your hands. I guess that’s her way of knowing if their evil hands or good hands. She does not do well with children of all ages, just adults. She doesn’t mind meeting other dogs. Axel is the white malamute/husky mix. He is about 50 lbs, and he is a jolly boy. He will greet anyone with a big grin, a wagging tail, and the happy energy that only a husky can emanate. He will sit with his back against your two feet and wait for pets. He is smart. He knows the drill. Once you have a routine, he will get it quickly. He likes to get on furniture. His personality is lively. He is a toy hogger. He likes to have access to all the toys. He doesn’t like meeting other dogs. He prefers to only play with his sister, Canada. He loves getting his belly rubbed. He enjoys cuddles, too. These two need positive reinforcement after what they have been through. They deserve a chance to live the other half of their lives being huskies. Canada and Axel both really have the best of hearts. They just need love. They are fully vetted, fixed and chipped. They would do good with anyone with previous husky experience. They are bonded, so they have to find a home where they can be adopted together. They are not tested with cats, and they do get excited upon seeing dogs. trying to play. They need a home without other pets, and kids. They are both heartworm negative and is kept on heartworm and flea preventative. The pups are being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. Their adoption fee and transport fee together is $600 for USA. To meet these gorgeous pups via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.

Story
This DoberDane, Lucas, is a gentle giant! He is sweet, loving, and so handsome! Our big, gentle boy’s story will tug at your heart.Lucas was found wandering around a gas station in North Houston, doing what he had to do just to survive. He wasn’t begging for attention — just food. Every day, he hung around the pumps, hoping someone might toss him a bite or simply notice him.And someone did.Lucas had been surviving on scraps and kindness from strangers, but what he really needed was safety, love, and a full belly he didn’t have to fight for. Now, he’s finally getting all of that and more. He’s safe, he’s warm, and he’s learning what it means to be part of a family. After some TLC from everyone who brought this boy to safety and some grooming it’s clear that he is unique with his Doberman + Great Dane mix. A gentle gentleman who loves everyone he meets. We don’t know how long Lucas was out there on his own, but we do know this: he never gave up. His strength and resilience are something to admire — and now, he’s showing his gratitude every day with tail wags, big eyes AND ears and the kind of love only a rescued dog can give.Lucas, you’re home. And the best part of your story is just beginning. To adopt: Apply to adopt him at hadr.orgApply to Adopt or Foster at www.hadr.org.

Story
Hi my name is Chandler. I guess the official name is HADR Chandler, since I’m the newest rescue at HADR. This might be the first time I’ve had a name and it feels great! The streets were not very nice to me. And most humans turned away when they saw me. You know they say that Dobermans have a sixth sense. We can read people, and we know who is good and who has issues. One day I was wondering about looking for food and shelter. And I came across this one house that just seemed so peaceful, so safe. I thought this would be a nice place to stay for a while. Nice fenced yard and I could see the other dogs playing. Then this lady came to the gate and let me in. My spidery senses must have been really strong that day. She tells me she is a foster to dogs who don’t have any home. And she can help me find a home. A real forever home! Now I’m still trying to understand all of that. But I sense it’s something really special. I will keep you posted on how it goes. So far it’s been pretty amazing! The HADR humans say I need to gain some weight, get stronger. But so far I’m doing just fine.Apply to Adopt or Foster at www.hadr.org.

Story
ALWAYS UP FOR AN ADVENTURE DOB 5/1/22, weight 58 pounds Hey there, everyone! I’m Xena, a sweet, incredibly friendly, spirited Siberian Husky mix gal whose heart is as big as my beautiful blue eyes. Due to my congenial nature, I love making new friends, whether they’re hooman or other dogs. I’m always up for an adventure – whether it’s a hike, a run, or just a fun day at the park. When the day is done, though, I’m an affectionate gal who just wants to relax and cuddle with Foster Mom. Since I’m quite smart and eager to please, she’s had a joy training me. It’s hard to believe that I was hanging out as a stray with no collar, tags, or chip outside of a game shop. Who would not tear the neighborhood apart searching for me -- unless I was abandoned because my owner couldn’t afford to keep me as their pet anymore? Ah well, I’m not looking back! I was making a homeless man very agitated because the game store was "his territory." Thank heavens Foster Mom brought me home to foster me when she was alerted to my situation, and she promises to find me the fantastic forever home that I deserve the second time around. If you’re looking for a loyal, lovable, playful, and energetic companion for your active lifestyle, I’m ready to be your new best friend. Arrange to meet me today. I think you’ll find not only that am I stunningly beautiful eye candy, but also that spending time with me will a complete joy to your heart. HOPE ID: D24-0817-0033 If you are interested in Xena and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt from us but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.
