Story
5 yo Axel and his sister Canada were rescued by their foster mom from a backyard breeder, and it was clear that they have gone through a lot in life. They are now looking for their forever home, where they can chase each other and play in a fully fenced yard. Axel and Canada are very calm and quiet husky-malamute pups, weighing 60 lb. They are not socialized much, so we would like to find them a home with no other pets. Axel and Canada used to live in a crate 24 hours and used for breeding only. They came to us sad and depressed. They only had each other, therefore we are unwilling to separate them, as they really need each other after going through so much. They were going to be put down, as the landlord of the place where they live, is threatening to take them to the pound, and the neighbor threatens to poison them. But this is very Texas. Their foster mom lives in fear for that and we hope we can find them a great home. They both enjoy being outside and going on car rides. They know the leashes very well. They get very excited, so they will pull when walking them. They need a dog owner with active lifestyles and plenty of time. They know to shake before going into the house. They know their beds. They know to sit before taking a snack. They both enjoy being outside chewing on a rawhide-free toy under the sun. They do like sun-bathing. Canada is the female black and white Siberian Husky. She is about 60 lbs. She enjoys lower back scratches and being brushed. Canada likes to watch and stare at anything you do. She is a curious girl. She is still hesitant about humans. So please be easy and slow with her. She likes to start by smelling your hands. I guess that’s her way of knowing if their evil hands or good hands. She does not do well with children of all ages, just adults. She doesn’t mind meeting other dogs. Axel is the white malamute/husky mix. He is about 63 lbs, and he is a jolly boy. He will greet anyone with a big grin, a wagging tail, and the happy energy that only a husky can emanate. He will sit with his back against your two feet and wait for pets. He is smart. He knows the drill. Once you have a routine, he will get it quickly. He likes to get on furniture. His personality is lively. He is a toy hogger. He likes to have access to all the toys. He doesn’t like meeting other dogs, especially small breeds. He prefers to only play with his sister, Canada. He loves getting his belly rubbed. He enjoys cuddles, too. These two need positive reinforcement after what they have been through. They deserve a chance to live the other half of their lives being huskies. Canada and Axel both really have the best of hearts. They just need love. They are fully vetted, fixed and chipped. They would do good with anyone with previous husky experience. They are bonded, so they have to find a home where they can be adopted together. They are not tested with cats, and they do get excited upon seeing dogs. They are both heartworm negative and is kept on heartworm and flea preventative. The pups are being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. Their adoption fee and transport fee together is $500 To meet these gorgeous pups via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.

BOOSTS YOUR MOOD, MAKES YOU SMILE  Est. DOB 1/7/15, WEIGHT 12.7 lbs. Arf! Arf, everyone! I’m Sammy, a sweet, friendly, quiet, and affectionate white Maltipoo (Maltese/ Mini Poodle mix) fella who is, in my humble opinion, the world’s greatest little dog. I think my foster mom agrees because she loves it that I curl up and settle in her lap whenever I can. There are two resident dogs and a cat in my foster home, but I’m much rather interact with beloved Foster Mom than play with them. I have a comical idiosyncrasy: I like to burrow under anything I can move and get under. You name it – bedcovers, blankets, pillows, throws. Foster Mom thinks it’s adorable that a cute little thing such as I am likes to excavate my own little lair like a mole. Let me tell you a little about Maltipoos. We’re gentle, social dogs who love people. Our happy, cheerful dispositions are guaranteed to boost your mood and make you smile. We can even be good therapy dogs because of the comfort we provide. And I’m no exception to this profile! I really looked like a mess when my foster mom first rescued me! Oh my goodness – I weighed only 10 pounds! You could see every bone on my vertebrae, plus I had no hair on my back. My eyes were practically glued shut with “goop” from an infection; I also had an ear infection; and my mouth was a mess from neglected preventative dentistry. Thank heavens Foster Mom and the vet have transformed me into a new man! With a steady diet of nutritious food, I’ve gained 2.5 pounds, I’m filling out nicely, and my fur is growing back! I’m eating a soft diet that’s appropriate after all of the diseased teeth (that hadn’t already fallen out) have been pulled. I look and feel so much better! And the silver lining about having no teeth is that I don't need any future dental cleanings! Medications have cleared up my original eye and ear infections. The vet also diagnosed that I have a condition called “dry eye,” which means that I don’t produce tears like I should. So Foster Mom puts drops in my eyes twice a day and cleans out any “goop” once to twice a day Thanks to the hair around my eyes being clipped, Foster Mom can clean out my eyes easier. I have cataracts in both eyes so I have very limited visibility and bump into things, but get around once I've learned my way! I generally move slow so I don’t hurt myself ! Even though I sleep a good portion of the day, I am quite aware of sounds and scents. I will sound the alarm at unfamiliar noises. I will track Foster Mom down if she has moved from where I left her using my superior olfactory senses. My ideal home would be one that has a doggie door to a small fenced back yard and someone to keep me company.  I’m so grateful for all the love and attention that I’m getting! In return, I snuggle and cuddle like you wouldn’t believe! I’ve learned how to use the doggie door, and I’m now crate-trained. If you’re looking for a cozy lap dog and can look past my limitations, I’d really like to be your dog! Half of my life is still ahead of me, so let’s spend it together! My heart has so much love to give, all that’s missing is YOU! HOPE ID D22-1129-0031 Sammy's $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas. To apply online:http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site Sammy will be this weekend, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com, and a volunteer will get back to you. Story
2 year old Nana is one of the sweet and loving pups we have in our care. She is good with dogs, cats, and kids. She will really do good in a home with children, she loves hanging out with kids, and listening to their commands. Kids have to be respectful of dogs and be familiar with dogs to adopt our pups. Nana was found by her foster mom when she was picking up her kids from school. Incidentally, a lady reached out to her claiming that she used to feed Nana and her brother and two other dogs when the family was dropped off to her neighborhood. Her description and identification matched Nana to the T. The lady requested our rescue to take her brother and the two other pups she is feeding, as she wants them all to find great homes, away from the outside stray lives. Nana knows a lot of commands and is extremely well behaved. She is very quiet and is one of the easiest pups her foster mom has cared for. She walks well on leash with her foster siblings and hangs out with them, without any problem. She is also kennel trained and has no resource guarding tendency, as you can see from the video, how she eats with other dogs. Nana lives with 2 other dogs and a kitty, and 2 kids in her foster home and gets along with everyone. Nana is about 2 years old, and currently weighs 52 lb. She will become a medium size dog. She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. She is currently being fostered in Houston but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. To meet this amazing pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Nana's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and Transport Fee to several states in the United States. Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
Mocha is a handsome 16-month-old Husky with a wonderful balance of calm and fun. While he’s more easygoing than most Huskies, he still has a playful, goofy side that shines through and will keep you smiling. He loves to enjoy his zoomies and silly moments just as much as he enjoys relaxing and hanging out with his people. Mocha is sweet-natured, affectionate, and enjoys being part of the family. He’s well-mannered, friendly, and has a gentle personality that makes him a joy to be around. Whether he’s playing, being silly, or just laying nearby soaking up attention, Mocha brings happiness wherever he goes. If you’re looking for a Husky who’s the perfect mix of calm, playful, and lovable, Mocha could be your perfect match. 💙🐾 Mocha was only 4 months old when his former owner tried to give him away. We requested him to hold Mocha for a couple days while we were trying to find a foster home for him. But he was given away within a day to a person, who neglected him and mistreated him. Mocha was often found roaming the streets, looking for food and good Samaritans. Then at 15 months, he was found by one of our street feeders, all ribs and bones, and was brought to our rescue. Despite everything, Mocha is a super sweet, loving, trusting, happy boy and will make someone an amazing companion. Mocha is only 45 lb at this time, and is completely vaccinated and kept on heartworm and flea preventatives. He is neutered and chipped. Mocha is currently being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. Mocha's adoption fee of $500 includes their vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and leash. GETS ALONG WITH EVERYONE!  DOB 5/1/25, weight 32# Hey there, everyone! I’m Nataly, a sweet, spunky, friendly, and affectionate wire-haired Border Terrier/ Wheaton Terrier mix gal who has lots of energy and bags of character. I’m always up for fun and am very playful. My Border Terrier ancestors were first bred in Scotland to be the quick, agile, energetic, and tireless dogs needed for fox hunting, and I’m no exception with my stamina, intelligence, and sturdiness. When I was about seven months old, I was found abandoned at a post office in Spring, and I’m so grateful that Foster Mom welcomed me into her home with her other rescued animals. I get along great with everyone – children, cats, as well as large and small dogs. I love to spend time in the great outdoors with Foster Mom, although I’m still working on my leash-training. Now I’m ready to bring my bubbling energy and easygoing congeniality to grace my forever home. Could that be you? Because I’m so compatible with everyone, there are lots of households where I’d fit like a glove. Arrange to meet me today as I can’t wait for us to become devoted lifetime companions. HOPE ID D25-1227-0056 Nataly’s $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas.
