Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Badly Abused'Yay!  Rosco is ready for his furever home! If you are looking for a loving, smart, playful four-legged companion that loves daily walks and eventually someone to go jogging with. Rosco is looking for his forever family.  He needs a family that will love him with calm leadership and continue his training by giving him guidance with rules, boundaries, and limitations. He is not perfect; he has had a very rough start to life. However, the amazing thing about dogs is that they move forward if we lead them in that direction.  Rosco is a dog you cannot pity despite the cruelties he has survived. He still trusts but requires leadership and structure, as he will test limits because he is a brilliant little dog. He is an active dog, but can not do strenuous exercise until he completes his heartworm treatment and his deep injuries are totally healed. Rosco's vet (Safari in League City) thinks he is two (ish) years old. He is crate trained but needs more work on house training. He does have a high prey drive, so a house with other small pets(cats/chickens/birds/rabbits/etc...) would not be a good idea. Rosco's Story:This little guy walked into a shop. Someone had taped his mouth shut. He was out back eating rocks. So, Harvey, his savior, at the shop he walked into, went down to Paleo Pet Supply, and got him some soft dawg food. He gobbled it down. Their FedEx driver stopped by today and saw the little guy, told us he had seen him running down El Dorado yesterday with his mouth taped shut and a guy chasing him. Wonder if that was the evil one. When he showed up here at the shop, we had no problem calling him to us. So he wasn't trying to help him, I don't think. He (now named Rosco) is available for adoption, and Paws Animal Rescue will be responsible for his Vet Bills, which are going to be extensive. He has a severe muzzle injury, a slight separation of his left front shoulder, soft tissue injuries, and Heartworms. We encourage you to fill out an adoption application if you want to adopt or sponsor him, helping cover some of his medical bills.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 12, 2026, 7:32 pm

Lexie came to us as a street mom, doing everything she could to care for her pups — and now it’s finally her turn. Smart, fun, and impossibly sweet, this adaptable girl is ready to trade the pavement for a couch and the chaos of survival for the quiet joy of belonging. Story
Meet Oatmeal, a sweet, shy soul looking for a loving and patient forever family. This handsome boy has been on an incredible journey—he started as a terrified street dog, but he has blossomed into an amazing adventure buddy who loves life and the people he trusts!Oatmeal is the definition of a slow burn. While he might bark at new faces visiting the house, he comes around quickly once properly introduced. Once comfortable, his true personality shines: he's incredibly goofy, playful, and will follow his trusted people anywhere! He has even advanced to letting strangers pet him while out on walks or in dog-friendly stores.Oatmeal thrives with a canine companion. He is wonderfully dog friendly and does best when he has a four-legged pal to help him be brave. His favorite thing in the world is to play with other dogs—he can happily go for hours!Oatmeal is a great houseguest and is otherwise perfectly behaved around the house—he doesn't get into anything he shouldn't! Because he is still overcoming his past, he does not do well when kenneled or separated from his dog friends. If he gets highly stressed by a lot of new people, he can regress and have accidents, so he needs a calm environment and a family who understands his need for gradual introductions.Oatmeal's favorite activities are hikes and anything outdoors. He is ready for new adventures with the people he loves!Oatmeal is looking for a home that is:-Patient and understanding of his shy nature.-Ready to include another dog as his brave buddy.-Committed to helping him continue his incredible journey. Please visit our site at https://www.jennisrescueranch.org/adopt for more information on how to adopt.
