Story
Meet Rossi! He has been waiting for his family since 2017! This young adult boy is ready to join your active lifestyle.  He had a tough start in his life, vet said that he had a broken leg at some point, but you would never know it.  He is extremely happy and so loving.  Rossi has basic obedience training and is already house and crate trained.  If you are looking for a handsome running companion -- he, is it!!  Rossi currently lives with other dogs, but he would be best as a solo dog as he takes time to warm up to other 4-legged friends.  He loves attention and is selective as to who he shares it with. Why would he not— look at him, a ladies' man for sure!   Rossi's  adoption fee is $100 in Houston, Tx or I can be transported for $350 out of state, which includes neuter, current vaccinations, health certificate, transport fees and microchip. He is heartworm negative.  Apply to adopt  him at  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=DCMHRQZTApril 18, 2024, 10:05 pm

Story
My name is Ember and I'm a Staffie mix. I am sweet girl that likes to go for long walks, cuddle with my human, and play with my doggy friends. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, tennis balls, whether a human is throwing them for me, or I am tossing them around myself. They are sure to entertain me for a while. I would do best in a home with older children as I can get a bit wild when playing and wouldn't want to knock over a little one on accident. I know basic commands like, sit, stay, leave it, and come here. I am super smart and even know how to put my own toys away. My adoption fee is $100 local, or I can be transported for $350 (includes transport fee, adoption fee, and health certificate). Story
Hello. My name is Roux B. (It's pronounced like Ruby, but with a little flair). I am a 5-year-old adventurous girl. My perfect person is someone who is an assertive leader who can keep my sass at bay. I am currently in a foster home with other dogs my size, but I am dog selective so I do better with neutral or submissive dogs with a slow introduction of course. I can also be your one and only pet because I love all the attention on me.  I also am not a fan of cats or small dogs. I love car rides and am ready to be your co-pilot any day. I am great in the car! I am ready for any outdoor adventures you want to do, but I am also ready to just hang out and chill. I would be perfect for someone who is a 1 dog type of family. Teenagers are cool too since I like to follow them around the house. I am potty trained, crate trained and love to play with toys. My favorite thing to do is lay on a soft bed. I am a power chewer so I prefer strong chew toys over stuffies. I know sit, stay, down, shake and I will wait for a command to eat or go outside. I am spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested heartworm negative. My local adoption fee has been graciously sponsored by a volunteer. She can also be transported out of state for $350.00! Apply for Roux B at www.soca-fbc.org/adoptables.   April 18, 2024, 10:05 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Gia doesn`t seem to have spent much time around people before and was very scared and nervous when she first came into the shelter. We`ve been working with her and are slowly showing her that humans are her friends. She`s already come so far - we`re so proud of her! She`s still wary of people and tries to back away from them at first, but if you`re gentle and patient and go slowly with her she`ll let you pet and touch her now. You can tell she has no idea what to make of the gesture , and she`s very nervous about it. Despite her fear she`s never shown any signs of aggression. We`re also working with her on the leash - she`ll let you put it on now, but has no idea what she`s supposed to do after that, and she`s too nervous to walk on it. She still doesn`t feel comfortable taking treats from your hand, but you can bet as soon as you leave her kennel she`s eating them. She loves treats! Gia is thriving in her current short term foster home. Her leash skills are improving, and she has started trusting her fosters enough to take treats from their hands. She`s living well with other dogs and is slowly gaining confidence!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Raulie looks like the kind of dog that would enjoy a good dad joke. He`s always smiling and looking like he`s laughing at something anyways! He has a great sense of humor and would laugh at your jokes for sure. He`s a pretty laidback kind of guy. He doesn`t need constant attention, but he does enjoy some company. He especially likes being pet and will return the favor with a kiss or two. Raulie has an average energy level. He doesn`t know any tricks yet, but he`s very happy to get a treat from you. He`s done well around other dogs in shelter playgroups, but he`s not much for actually playing. He just prefers to mind his own business and likes to keep it calm and low key. With a handsome boy like this, you wouldn`t be able to resist spoiling him…and that`s no joke!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Dawson is both clever and playful - those two traits combined always make for an interesting time! He`s sure to keep you on your toes! Dawson came into the shelter on 7/19/22 with some skin issues. Those issues have since cleared up nicely. Now when you look at him all you`ll see is a handsome happy 2YO boy! Dawson is an active boy who loves to run. He has a tendency to trot around like a pony, too. It`s adorable! His favorite thing in the world is to have you playfully chase after him. He`ll run up to you and grin, then dart away - just to tempt you into chasing after him! He`s just wanting to make sure you stay active too! Squeaky toys and treats are two more `likes` of his. Both are great ways to get his attention and make him come to you (without playing keep away). He takes those treats from your hand very gently, despite his playful nature. Dawson`s not all jokester, though. He`s got a sweet side too. He really enjoys and appreciates being pet. He`s a very happy boy who likes to act silly to make you happy too!
