Story
Marcela’s story is one that breaks your heart and then puts it back together again. This beautiful girl was left behind after her owner passed away. Instead of comfort and security, Marcela found herself abandoned by the only family she knew. Alone, hungry, and confused, she was picked up by animal control and spent an entire month in a loud, overwhelming shelter. And then… her time was up. Marcela was placed on the euthanasia list. But we saw her. And we couldn’t let her story end there. Today, Marcela is safe and she is nothing short of amazing. Story
Enzo is an 80-pound gentle giant with a big body and an even bigger heart. He’s a sweet, affectionate boy who loves being around people and soaking up attention. Enzo is friendly, social, and enjoys connecting with his humans — whether that means hanging out, going for walks, or relaxing nearby. Enzo does great with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship. He’s also wonderful with people of all ages, including kids, and is known for his kind, easygoing nature despite his large size. His calm and loving personality makes him a joy to have around and a great addition to an active or family-oriented home. Enzo would do best in a cat-free home, as he is not good with cats. With that one exception, he is a very well-rounded dog who thrives on companionship and positive interaction. This big sweet giant is looking for a home that will appreciate his size, his gentle soul, and his loyalty. If you’re searching for a loving, people-friendly dog who gets along well with other dogs and enjoys family life, Enzo may be the perfect match for you.

Story
The Girl With a Heart of Gold Life hasn’t always been kind to Olive. The scars she carries tell a story of survival, strength, and unshakable spirit. Once living on the streets, Olive faced hardship alone — including an old leg fracture that never healed quite right. She sometimes bears weight on that leg and at other times will lift it up while walking, This is a small reminder of what she’s overcome, but it doesn’t slow her down. In fact, it only adds to her charm. Olive is truly beautiful — inside and out. Her eyes tell stories of wisdom and gratitude, and her calm, loving nature shines through every time she looks at you. She adores human company and has a tender, sweet habit of holding her person’s hand as if to say, “I’m safe now, right?” She’s wonderful with other dogs and would be a loving companion for children, too. Olive doesn’t need much — just a cozy spot, gentle walks, and someone who will see her for the amazing, resilient soul she is. After all she’s been through, Olive deserves a forever home where she can finally rest her heart. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will remind you every day what unconditional love looks like, Olive is waiting — paw extended — just for you. If you would like to be the loving family for Olive, please complete an adoption application.

Story
Shilah is quiet, gentle, easy, loving and smart Shilah has no qualities that need to be worked on Meet Ms. Shilah, a gentle spirit whose story begins in abandonment. On the streets for a while, Shilah made her way instinctively to the kindest person who would help her feel safe and loved. She was very timid at first, but cautiously trusted more each day. Foster offered just what she needed; kindness, nourishment, and safety. One day she decided it was time to go inside and meet everyone. Each tentative step moved her towards healing and since that time Shilah has blossomed. Shilah is a Shepherd/Catahoula mix. She is 8 years old, but don’t let that discourage you. This sweet girl has lots of life and love to give! She is spayed and HW negative. She has no health issues, other than some arthritis in her back legs. A good joint supplement has helped this tremendously. Shilah enjoys the company of her four housemates, their daily walk and a good run in an open field. She is not a barker, but instead will let you know if she needs something with a gentle howl or a paw asking you to listen. She likes retiring early for the night and laying her head on your knee for a pet. Foster says of Shilah, 'she is a sweet, super easy girl who’s very well behaved, social, and doesn’t have an ounce of aggression towards any person or thing'. If you are looking for a quiet girl to lay next to you or a gentle dog to add to your family, please reach out to meet this gem. Shilah would love a family who will offer cuddles, belly rubs and a happy home. Located in Houston, TX. Please contact nod2016dog@gmail.com for more information on this special girl.
