Story
Meet Rainy 🌧️ | 5-Month-Old Australian Shepherd Mix (aka “The Worm”) If love could wiggle, it would look exactly like Rainy. Rainy is a 5-month-old Australian Shepherd mix who has earned the affectionate nickname “the worm” — not because she’s sneaky, but because when she loves you, she worms her entire body toward you. Belly low, tail wagging, whole body in motion, Rainy greets the world with pure devotion and an open heart. She is incredibly loving and deeply submissive, always eager to please and happiest when she’s close to her people. Sometimes her excitement gets the best of her — she’s been known to do a little happy piddle when she just can’t contain how thrilled she is to see you. It’s not bad manners, it’s just a baby dog with a heart too big for her body. Rainy loves to play and explore, but her favorite place will always be right by your side. Whether you’re walking from room to room or settling in for quiet time, she wants to be included in every moment. She’s the kind of pup who makes you feel chosen. With other animals, Rainy is still learning. New friends can make her unsure at first, but she’s doing the important work of discovering her confidence and learning how to set healthy boundaries. With continued socialization, patience, and guidance, she’s only going to grow into a well-rounded, emotionally intelligent dog. Rainy is still very much a puppy — sweet, impressionable, and full of potential. She’s looking for a home that will nurture her confidence, laugh at her wiggles, and help her grow into the incredible companion she’s meant to be. If you’re ready for unconditional love, constant companionship, and a dog who will happily follow you anywhere (possibly wiggling the whole way)… Rainy is waiting for you. 🐾💕 If you think you would be my perfect forever home, my friends would love to hear from you!  Contact them at: info@handsnpawswa.org  Health & Safety  All our animals are: Microchipped Up to date on vaccines Dewormed and flea treated Spayed/neutered and given rabies shots (if age appropriate) FELV/FIV testing available upon request (at adopter’s expense)  Where to Find Me  Our pets are located in foster homes, Hands 'N Paws Othello Shelter, or at PetSmart in Union Gap.  Adoption Process First come, first served unless a hold is placed Holds require a $25 non-refundable fee per pet or full adoption fee Holds last up to 7 days After 7 days, unclaimed pets and fees are considered donations  Adoption Fees  Listed under each pet’s photo on their biography page.

Story
Are you looking for a giant velcro dog? Want lots of furry snuggles? Have a large fenced yard or property? Choo is your fella! Choo came to live with our family (3 adults and 5 other dogs) a little over a year ago. I rescued his 2 sisters and momma about a year before that. They came from a neighbor situation where they were fed but ignored otherwise. Not abused but not really taken care of. The reason I ended up with Choo was because he started getting into trouble around our tiny little town. He was laying in the middle of the road, chasing vehicles, fighting with neighbor dogs, and killing cats. I have a fenced yard and offered to take him in. He is a wonderful dog but mouthy and this is not the ideal home for him. He is really having a jealousy problem with one of his sisters. His mom and other sister have been ganging up on him as well. His best friend is our 12lb chihuahua mix. Let's chat!

Story
Meet Dancer 💫 | 1-Year-Old Border Collie Mix Dancer is a quiet soul with a gentle heart — the kind of dog who watches the world carefully before deciding it’s safe to step forward. This sweet 1-year-old Border Collie mix is a timid little girl who is still learning that the world isn’t a big, scary place. New sights, sounds, and situations can feel overwhelming for her, and she looks to her people for reassurance that everything is okay. With a calm presence and kind encouragement, Dancer gains confidence one small victory at a time. While we don’t know much about her past, we do know who she is at her core: loving, affectionate, and deeply comforted by closeness. Dancer adores cuddling and being near her person — it’s where she feels safest. When she’s beside you, her worries melt away, and you’ll see her true self begin to shine. On leash, Dancer does well, sticking close and moving thoughtfully through the world. She just needs gentle reminders that passing cars, new people, and unfamiliar noises aren’t monsters — just part of the journey. A patient home that understands confidence-building will help her blossom into a dog who feels secure and brave. Dancer is looking for someone who will move at her pace, celebrate the small wins, and show her every day that she’s safe, loved, and never alone. If you believe the best relationships are built slowly, with trust and tenderness — Dancer is waiting for you. 💛  If you think you would be my perfect forever home, my friends would love to hear from you!
