Story
Shaka is a pit bull terrier mix who will be 9 this July. My husband and I adopted her when she was 3 and have had her for 6 years. She is incredibly sweet, full of personality, and a high-energy girl who loves attention and walks. She is great with our toddler, newborn, and two cats; never, ever aggressive. She is house trained, crate trained, spayed, up to date on vaccines, and only takes heartworm prevention. Shaka does have mild food possessiveness (growls if hovered over while eating) but has never acted on it; even with our cats near her bowl. Due to my husband and I working full time and long hours and having two young children, we can't give her the time and exercise she deserves. We are hoping to find a home that has a big yard for her to run in and where someone can take her on multiple walks a day and give her lots of love. Supplies are available if needed. I would be happy to answer any questions about our sweet girl. We want to make sure she finds her forever home. 💛

Good with dogs,
Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Autumn! She is a beautiful 3-year-old cattle dog mix who has just finished raising her puppies and is now ready for a fresh start of her own. After being such a devoted mama, it’s finally her turn to be cared for and loved. She can be shy and a little skittish when meeting new people, but with patience and gentle reassurance, Autumn blossoms into a loyal and affectionate companion. Once she trusts you, her sweet nature truly shines. True to her cattle dog roots, Autumn is smart, alert, and full of energy. She thrives with activity and purpose, whether that’s long walks, hikes, exploring a yard, or engaging in enrichment games. She absolutely adores other dogs and gains confidence from having canine companions around. Autumn is looking for a standalone home outside of the city where she can feel safe and have space to stretch her legs. She is not suited for apartment or condo living. A fenced yard and possibly another friendly dog would be a huge plus for her confidence and happiness. Autumn has already given so much as a mama. Now she deserves a peaceful home where she can continue to grow, gain confidence, and be someone’s devoted companion. With the right environment, she will reward her family with loyalty, love, and that wonderfully spirited cattle dog personality. Autumn is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Meet Grille!  Grille recently traveled from Texas to find a new home in the PNW area. Grille is brand new to our rescue and is currently getting settled into a foster home to begin potty, crate, leash, and obedience training. During this period, we will also be learning more about Grille’s personality, so be sure to check back for more information! In the meantime, he will be spending his days romping, cuddling, getting lots of playtime, love, and going on new adventures with his foster family, all while growing into a healthy pup! We are currently taking applications for Grille, who will be able to go home with an adopter after his neuter surgery. Grille is currently located in a foster home in Spokane, WA, and can be transported to your area! (See information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).   What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!). Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family (the process may differ slightly for long distance adopters). Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.  Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.  Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. About Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.  Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process. ##2657666##
