Everyone who meets him immediately falls in love with this special dog. Wally has overcome so much in his few years. After losing his front leg following an attack by another dog, he has bounced right back to his happy, playful self. As he adjusts to tripawd life, he does well with stairs and prefers carpeted surfaces. He loves to go outside to sniff and explore in the backyard. Despite everything he’s been through, Wally gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He politely invites them to play, always respects their boundaries, and takes corrections from both humans and dogs very well. He’s even won over our cranky resident dog and would benefit from another confident dog playmate in the home. Wally is fully house-trained and trusted with free rein in our home, as he is not a fan of the crate. He is very quiet and hardly barks, even when our resident dog is on security patrol. He’s still working on commands, but his calm, eager-to-please nature makes him easy to live with. Wally has proven to be great with babies and young kids thanks to his calm, sweet temperament. He spends his days playing with chewies, napping, and happily cuddling up on the couch. He is happiest and most comfortable right by his people. Wally would thrive in a loving home where he can continue to be close to his humans as he settles into this new way of life — surrounded by the care, comfort, and affection he so deeply deserves. Story
This handsome four-year-old Great Dane has a big bark that might surprise you at first—but don’t let it fool you. Underneath that booming voice is a sensitive, thoughtful soul who just needs a little time to feel safe. After all, these gentle giants have the most sensitive souls.  He can be nervous when meeting new people, especially at first, but with patience, a calm approach, and lots of treats he slowly shows his true personality: sweet, loyal, and deeply devoted to the people he trusts. Once you’ve won him over you’ll have a shadow who wants nothing more than to be near you. He would thrive in a home that understands large breeds and is willing to guide him as he builds confidence. A quieter home and consistent routine would help him shine.  Dax is great with other dogs but most comfortable playing with dogs smaller than him. Remember, he’s a sensitive guy who lacks confidence.  If you’re looking for a loyal companion and believe the best relationships are built on trust and patience, this gentle Great Dane may be your perfect match. Dax is fully vetted, crate trained and bell trained to potty breaks. His only behavioral quirk is his stranger danger. ##2627425##

Story
Meet Mocha – A Gentle Soul with Special Needs Mocha is a 5-year-old spayed blue Great Dane with the softest heart and one of the most trusting, gentle temperaments you’ll ever meet. She truly adores people; whether you’re family or a brand-new friend, she greets everyone with quiet affection and complete trust. If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion who bonds deeply with her humans, Mocha is your girl. Mocha is incredibly sweet, mild-mannered, and emotionally tender. She enjoys gentle play, short games of tug or chasing a stuffy for a few minutes at a time, but she’s not overly energetic. She is happiest being near her people and soaking up love. While Mocha is wonderful with humans, she does not enjoy high-energy, in-your-face dogs. Calm, respectful dogs with slow, structured introductions, especially senior or low-energy companions are welcomed. She gains confidence once she knows a dog.  Special Feeding Needs Mocha has a history of intestinal struggles, so her diet is extremely important. She does not need expensive prescription food, but she must remain on a very low-fat diet (5% fat or less).• She does best on soaked low-fat kibble (“mush”) paired with low-fat canned food• Food must be fully soaked for several hours or overnight• She currently eats 4–5 small meals per day• Most canned foods are too high in fat for her—only specific low-fat formulas are safe Because of her condition, Mocha will need an adopter who is committed to:• Careful food selection• Multiple daily feedings• Consistency and monitoring Home & Lifestyle NeedsMocha requires a home where someone is present most of the day to maintain her feeding and potty schedule.• She needs to go outside every 3–4 hours• While she is now housebroken and understands not to go inside, she physically cannot hold it too long• With proper water management and frequent potty breaks, she can stay accident-free Mocha is incredibly smart and resourceful, especially when food is involved, so secure food storage is a must!  The Ideal Home Mocha will thrive in a home that offers:• A calm environment• Low-energy or possibly no other dogs• A structured feeding routine• A flexible schedule for frequent potty breaks• A family that understands medical management and is ready to continue her care The Heart of It All Mocha is truly one of a kind—a soft, soulful, deeply trusting dog who just wants to love and be loved. Her needs are unique, but so is the bond she offers in return. For the right home, Mocha will be an extraordinarily loyal, gentle, and devoted companion. If you have the time, patience, and heart to give this special girl what she needs, Mocha will give you everything she has in return.  ##2627397##

Story
Meet Pixie! This petite, pretty blue girl lives up to her magical name! At just 2.5 years old, Pixie has already been on quite an adventure—several homes, a stray in the Twin Cities, and finally rescued thanks to her microchip. Now, she’s ready for her happily ever after!  Pixie is sweet as sugar and playful at heart. She LOVES toys, enjoys a good nap on the couch, and is happiest when she has a family to call her own. She’s already house-trained, kennel-trained, and knows some basic obedience—but she’d thrive with a family willing to keep teaching her new tricks. Because Pixie thinks the best treasures are hers to keep, she’d do best as the only pet in the home. That way, she can soak up all the love, snuggles, and attention she deserves.  Now spayed, fully vetted, and full of hope, Pixie is ready to bring joy, laughter, and love into the right forever home. Could that be you?  ##2506654##

Story
About Lola Lola is a joyful, playful girl who brings equal parts fun and heart to every day. She loves zooming around the yard, fetching her favorite toys, and showing off her silly personality. Once she’s decided fetch time is over, she’s back to her signature zoomies, they’re her favorite way to celebrate life! When it’s time to wind down, Lola enjoys cozying up in her room on her dog bed. She sleeps in a gated space with her foster’s other dogs and loves being tucked in with a blanket at bedtime (especially since her foster likes to keep the room chilly). Home Life Lola is crate-trained and walks right in when it’s time, though she’ll give one gentle whine to share her opinion before settling quietly. She does best when crated for up to about four hours at a time and has shown no barking or destructive behavior while crated. She’ll give a friendly bark when the doorbell rings but is easily redirected to a calm “sit” and “stay.” Lola enjoys watching the world go by from the front window or through the yard gate, and she’s impressively quiet while doing it, zero barking at passersby or neighborhood noise! Out & About Lola is a dream travel companion! She rides calmly in the back of the SUV and doesn’t bark or fuss at drive-thrus or people nearby. On walks, she’s made incredible progress, remaining non-reactive to other dogs, people, and squirrels, and learning to relax and enjoy sniffing at her foster’s side. Vet & Social Skills Lola is a star at the vet! She’s had full exams, ear cleanings, and even her anal glands expressed with ease. The staff loves her calm, friendly demeanor. She’s also had a successful playdate with a male Great Dane, showing that she can enjoy canine companionship with the right match. Personality Sweet, smart, and affectionate, Lola is the perfect balance of playful and gentle. She’s the kind of dog who will make you laugh during the day and melt your heart at night. Whoever adopts Lola will be incredibly lucky to welcome this loving, loyal girl into their family. ##2570322##

Story
Hey there, I am Gordy aka Gordon (when I’m not listening) and Gordito Crunch (when my foster mama is playing with me)! I am a 5 year old Great Dane/Great Pyrenees mix. That just means I’m extra great of course! I have the Great Dane height and body but a Great Pyrenees head with the Pyrenees shedding.  I was originally surrendered as a puppy due to having special back legs. I was adopted to a wonderful family but returned back to rescue because of my sensitivity to frequent visitors. I get that from the Great Pyrenees side - I feel the need to protect my home and yard.  I love hard and love attention from my humans but don’t enjoy people I don’t know initially when they enter my home. I take my job of protecting the home seriously and need my humans to prove to me that they can control and protect the house so I don’t have to worry about it. I really respect boundaries and expectations that are presented to me by my humans!  I  graduated a 5 week board and train program  in 2023. I have strong obedience skills and am looking for a home who can hold me accountable to those skills. I know how to walk well on leash, the place command, heel, come and all of the other skills I need to be a well mannered boy. I am trained with an eCollar and a prong collar for walking. My future family should be comfortable with those training tools.  I really love to play with toys and other dog friends. I’m a total goofball but have shown resource guarding over food with other dogs. I prefer to eat my food and bones in my kennel or in a separate room from other dogs however, as I get older I am much more relaxed. I am also good with cats though have never lived with one.  I really love my kennel. I will sleep there at night, when my foster parents are gone or when there are visitors at the house. I can also be left out to free roam at night though I prefer to sleep next to my foster parents bed or in the hallway so I can keep a watchful eye on my humans.  Remember how I was surrendered as a puppy due to having special legs? Well, I still have special back legs. I was born with slightly twisted femurs so I walk a bit differently and have arthritis in my back knees. I love to run and play but can be sore after playing all day long so I occasionally take gabapentin to help. I also require daily joint supplements to help my bones stay healthy. I have a pet insurance policy that will be transferred to a potential adopter - they will be expected to continue to keep that in place after adopting me.  Foster Mama Here:Gordy is the bestest boy. We fostered him when he was a puppy as well. We do not let him greet new visitors at our house and require him to stay on his bed in a “place” while visitors are here or in his kennel. He does like to meet people slowly and at a good pace. We would walk his adoptive family through the intro process that he is successful with. Once he knows and trusts you he will forever welcome you as a family member of his.  Gordy has so much potential and loves so hard. But he will require owners who can set strict boundaries in the home and hold him accountable. His breed and genetics make him want to protect his home and people but if you a set boundaries he is such a great listener. We walk him on a prong collar and he is eCollar trained. His adopters will need to commit to continued use of these training tools and also meeting with his board and train trainer to learn about everything he knows. Gordy is muzzle trained. He is great at the groomer! Gordy loves the snow and playing outside. His favorite is his doggy pool in the summer. We have 4 other dogs in our home and he plays with all of them.  Gordy lived with kids in his first home. He was very protective over them so we do not recommend he go to a home with children under the age of 12. He could thrive in the country as he will bark when he sees humans and dogs walking by the home. ##954057##

Story
Meet Rocky!  Rocky is a lovable 1-year-old, 40-pound doodle/wolfhound mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He recently made his way from Arkansas after being saved from a high-kill shelter, and he’s been showing everyone just how special he is ever since. Rocky is mostly potty trained and already knows to go to the door when he needs to head outside—such a smart boy! He walks nicely on a leash, does great in the car, and slept well in a crate overnight, making him well on his way to being a fantastic, well-rounded companion. With a little time and consistency, he’s only going to keep improving. This happy guy loves other dogs and is super playful, always ready for a fun romp with his canine friends. He adores kids and people of all ages and truly just wants to be everyone’s buddy. Rocky can get excited and may jump up to say hello, but he’s already learning boundaries and eager to please. He has met a cat and shown interest in wanting to play, so continued supervision and introductions would be best. Rocky would do best with another dog in the house or with his human around more often than not - when left alone, he is often very vocal about missing his people! Rocky is affectionate, energetic, and full of joy—he’s the kind of dog who brings smiles wherever he goes. If you’re looking for a young, friendly pup who’s ready to grow into an amazing family dog, Rocky might just be your perfect match.    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
