MARTINA NEEDS FOSTER UNTIL WE CAN FIND HER FOREVER HOME. She is also available for adoption Martina is an very energetic, happy as can be 5mo old puppy that constantly has her little nub tail wagging! She currently weighs 25lbs and should be 40-45lbs when she’s full grown. She is a very social girl so an active home is a must. She loves to run, run, run so a fenced yard is also required. She would be the perfect companion for a family that does a lot of camping, hiking and maybe even some jogging. A farm where she can help coral the goats or livestock would be perfect! She loves meeting new people so a socially active home would be great, too. Martina is extremely smart so she must have lots of training games to help her become a model k9citizen. She is doing great with her crate and house training, as long as she has frequent potty breaks. Martina thrives on her doggy play dates so another dog in the home or frequent play dates is a must . A heeler experienced home is also best. Overall, Martina is a great tempered, friendly dog that is ready for a home of her own and lots of adventure!

Hello! My name Poppy. I am not at the shelter as I am currently staying in a foster home. Once I'm comfortable with you, I'm very playful and fun-loving. I can take a minute to warm up to men. I really like other dogs and have enjoyed playing with other pups. I take corrections well and seem to have good dog-social skills. I would love an active family who can get me out regularly for exercise and play time. If you are interested in adopting me, please email frontdesk@auburnvalleyhs.org to learn more about me!

Hey Instagram fam, meet Jackie! This adorable 7-month-old heeler mix is a bundle of energy and fun! She's the perfect companion for all your adventures, from hiking trails to beach days. Jackie absolutely loves socializing with other dogs and enjoys spending time with her pup friends. However, she would thrive as the only pupper in her forever home. So, if you're looking for a loyal and devoted companion, Jackie might be the one for you! Due to her heeler nature, Jackie would be most comfortable in a home without children under the age of 15. But don't worry, she's potty and crate trained, and as smart as a whip! If you're ready to give Jackie the loving forever home she deserves, reach out to us today! Story
Hello! My name is Winnie. I came to RASKC as a stray and now I`m looking for a new home! I`m a very shy little girl, easily scared by fast movements or loud noises. Once I`m sure I can trust you, I`m very sweet and politely seek affection from my person. I`ve shown a little interest in squeaky toys but I`m a little too scared to really let loose yet - I`m sure I`ll get more playful in a home. I would do best in a quiet, predictable home where I can settle in and learn to trust my people. I`m more likely to succeed in an teen/adult home. I am 43lbs which makes me a medium size dog. My personality color is BLUE. I am a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might take some time to warm up. Once I get to know you, I will be a very devoted friend!

Story
I adopted Socks in December of 2021 from the Humane Society of the Black Hills in Rapid City, SD. She was a stray, and it's suspected that she went through abuse from whoever she was with. She was 7 months old when I got her, and her estimated birthday is May 16, 2021. She is a mutt. Socks is a sweet dog, but she struggles with severe separation anxiety. She will bark when left alone (if there is another dog in the household, she's less likely to bark), she is partially housetrained, but because of her anxiety, she has a lot of accidents inside, so she's best being somewhere where she can be an outdoor dog. It is suggested to kennel her when left alone, as she will destroy things. She is not aggressive at all, and gets along with children and other animals. She loves to snuggle, and she is a couch potato. I unfortunately can not take care of her any longer due to her behavioral issues. I live in an apartment, and it's not the best environment for her.

Story
Dog Name: Fossi aka Mr. Ears Age: Approx 4-5 years (as of 4/11/23) Gender: Male Breed: Australian Cattle Dog / Boxer Mix Good with dogs? Yes, very! see notes Good with cats? No, see notes Good with kids? Unknown, not recommended What is Fossi's rescue story? The adorable Fossi aka Mr. Ears was saved from the euthanasia list in New Mexico in April and arrived in WA at the end of September. While he had completely shut down in the shelter environment, he has blossomed in his foster home. Temperment/Personality: He is extremely curious, smart, and playful. Our best guess is he is between 4 and 5 years old. He is a wonderful companion and wants to be a part of everything you do...whether that's running, cooking, going on errands in the car, or cuddling and napping.Fossi is AMAZING with other doggoes. The owner of the boarding facility he stayed at while his foster parents were traveling for the holidays said he was "her go-to dog who could be introduced to and play with any of the other dogs!" He would really love another pup in his forever home to show him the ropes. He can get overexcited when another dog is on leash, so his adopters will need to be willing to work with him on his fear and stress response to that specific type of interaction. What does Fossi's ideal home look like? Fossi deserves a patient forever family who is comfortable taking people introductions slowly. While his foster dad immediately gained his trust, some men are scary to Fossi upon first meeting. He has great leash manners and LOVES going for walks and runs. His best life is with someone who works from home, is home often and can provide him with lots of mental and physical stimulation, or someone who is willing to take him on all their travels! He would thrive with one or more dog siblings.Kids are currently unknown. He has also not been cat-tested, but shows an interest in chasing small animals; outdoor cats, squirrels, chipmunks, etc. Apply to meet this silly, resilient, athletic red heeler.  Adoption fee $350 www.northwestwagrescue.org ##1695137##

Star is a little shy when she first meets you. She loves going for walks. She would make a great companion for any outside activity. She loves to play fetch and run in the yard. She gets along with most dogs so proper introduction is a must. She would be best in a home that doesn't have young children. She loves to snuggle and get rubs. She is very loyal and loving. Story
MUST LOVE CUDDLES! Big, beautiful Buck is a very affectionate guy that will cuddle with any person he meets. When standing outside , talking with the neighbors he’ll wait patiently while leaning against you for a head rub. In the evening he won’t try to lay in your lap, but he does want to lay next to you with his head in your lap. He needs a touchy / feely kind of person! Buck is approx about 18mo old and weighs a whopping 80lbs. He does still need some leash and recall training, but he’s very food motivated and really wants to please so he’ll learn all his manners in no time. He is a very silly, playful, very sweet puppy that would make an excellent running partner. And then he’s ready to come home and relax for the remainder of the day. One more walk for the evening or running and playing fetch in the yard for a bit, then Buck is happy to curl up in his blankets for the night. He has been between a foster home and boarding for 3 months now, so he’s eagerly waiting for his own, forever home. Buck loves to play with other dogs but does not like to share food or treats so he must be the only dog in the home. Even though he won’t live with other dogs, he should at least have plenty of play dates. Buck loves to meet new people so a socially active home would be best. He’s also wonderful with kids, although he’s very big and doesn’t really know his size so he might knock over the little ones. Kids must be over 10yrs old. He must have a 6ft or higher securely fenced yard. Although Buck is house and crate trained, he’d rather use a doggy door or be let out on a regular basis by a work from home person. He must have a large breed experienced person to help continue his training. He loves car rides so he would even be a great companion for someone that drives for a living. He is a little too intense with the kitties so no cats please. We’re not quite sure of his breed mix. But we do know he is a very sweet, social, athletic guy that deserves a loving forever home of his own.

Story
Born 10-22-2016. We picked her up on 1-1-2017. She is an anxious dog, does not like fire works, thunder or sudden movements. She likes to go for walks and run around the dog park. She has not been brought up around kids or other dogs or cats. We had some renters who teased her and she has started nipping at us. We are in the process of getting new renters and can’t take the chance she will nip at them.
