Story
This beautiful boy is looking for a home that understands him.Juno was kept as an outside dog for his whole life and never really got any training to help him learn how to contain his excitement when greeting people. This made his owners surrender him because he was too excited to play with the small children and tended to knock them over trying to give them kisses. He was also never shown the proper ways to play with cats and can get a little overzealous which most cats can't handle. He could potentially learn to play more gently with training but we can't say for sure. He appears to be incredibly smart and praise-motivated, already getting the hang of the command "spin" during his intake exam. He hasn't had any other commands taught to him but he will enjoy getting the chance to learn!Does Juno seem like the perfect pup for you? Fill out our adoption application and if approved we will reach out within two days to set up a 30-minute meet-and-greet/adoption appointment. All dogs adopted from us receive one free week of training through the service GoodPup. Story
Oakley is just the hunk you need this Valentine's day! This beautiful pup is less than a year old and full of energy. We were told he is a mini Austrian shepherd although he looks more like a miniature collie to us. He can be full of energy and jumps up a lot but he was also kenneled for 12 hours a day at his previous home so with more exercise and training, this behavior should be manageable if not fully trainable. He is not fully house-trained and has had very few encounters with other animals. He has been around older children and was very playful with them but we are unsure of how he would do with younger children. He can be a bit skittish and nervous and was giving us a submissive grin during his intake so he will need an adopter who is willing to take their time adjusting him to a new home. Oakley walks really well on a leash and knows how to sit and take treats nicely. He is also highly food-motivated. He appears to be reactive to other dogs in the kennel but he may do better with dogs when introduced in a more relaxed setting. He has never been around cats.Do you think you could show Oakley a little love this Valentine's day and every one thereafter? Fill out our adoption application and if approved we will reach out within two days to set up a 60-minute meet-and-greet/adoption appointment. All dog adoptions include one free week of virtual training through the service GoodPUP. Story
Meet Cotton Candy! Meet the sweetest, funniest, goofiest boy around. Cotton is a little over a year old and full of Aussie energy. Cotton is looking for a family that has a great sense of humor and an understanding of the needs of this fun breed.Cotton is a double merle as is evident by his fluffy, white coat. It also can impact vision and hearing. In Cotton's case he is completely deaf but does have some vision- mainly shadows. But this has ZERO effect on this boy and the wonderful life he will live!Cotton loves playing with other dogs and is generally fantastic with them- he is still a young, male Aussie that can't always read other dog's signals. Occasionally, he irks his companions but he's a quick study and rarely repeats a misstep. He has been as respectful as he's able to with the resident cats. Cotton loves all humans he meets- big and small!Cotton is a good boy in his crate and has (knocks on wood) figured out house training like a champ. Cotton loves to go for runs with his foster dad and is great at it. He'd be a wonderful training companion. Cotton is an active boy and needs to keep his brain and body busy. He's smart and willing. Training him is a joy!Cotton is looking for a family that will encourage, train and help him continue to live a wonderfully full life. Herding dog knowledge is helpful but not necessary if you are willing and able to provide him the stimulation he needs. He does need another, welcoming dog in his new home. The give him a familiar, easy way to learn his new environment.Cotton will be endless laughs and the occasional head shake for his new family. They will truly be the lucky ones!So cute! Super cute!Cotton has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his vaccinations. He has also tested negative for heartworm disease. His adoption fee is $450.00 plus sales tax. Please submit an adoption application if you have questions about Cotton or would like to meet him.

Story
Ethan finds great places and positions to sleep in, leading the foster to take a whole lot of sleeping dog pix. Regardless, he is darn cute and a foster favorite. Ethan appears to be a Shepherd cross who was born 11-21-23. Mommy is a German Shep x and is pictured. The adult dog Ethan is snoozing with is a friend, not a relative. Ethan had to have had a different daddy from the rest of the litter as he doesn’t look like any of them. He even has rear dew claws and none of the others do. Who was daddy? We have NO clue. We believe Ethan he will be in the upper end of mid-sized or lower end of large breed when full grown, likely 50-60#. He is white with black and tan markings and is quite handsome. Ethan and 5 siblings were surrendered because the owner wanted them to get good homes and felt she would not be able to find suitable owners. Puppy arrived in good health and well cared for. The little dog family had been living in a remote rural area and spent much of their time outdoors. Ethan is outgoing, friendly, and is used to being around other dogs and puppies. He loves to cuddle with the adult dogs and pups in the foster home. He is reliably using newspapers for his house breaking and is starting to go outside to do his business. He is learning to walk on a leash. We are making best guess about breed. DNA testing from Dogs from the area often have 20 or more breeds in their lineage. Common breeds in the area are German Shepherds, Kelpies, Border Collies, labs, and Aussies. The DNA nearly always includes a wee bit of Chihuahua and some husky. The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Ethan has been vaccinated and wormed. He will need two more routine vaccination plus rabies at the owner’s expense. The $375 adoption fee (check or cash) includes the cost of pup’s required spay/neuter at 6 months of age provided it is done by one of the PUP vets. We do place puppies outside the metro area but a plan for the required spay/neuter must be in place. We do not ship. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. If you elect to contact us via e-mail it may take several weeks for us to get back to you. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested.
