History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own! A Note from the Foster: Meet Owen - a spunky, 10-week-old puppy who is eager to find his forever home. He’s playful, curious and sometimes cautious as he explores his new world, entertains himself with a toy, wrestles with his brother and cuddles with his people. Owen is just getting started with potty training but is catching on. He sleeps in the crate at night and will happily take breaks there during the day. Mealtime is one of his favorite things! His love of food will be a great tool as he starts to work on training and commands. As with all young puppies, Owen will benefit from continued socialization and plenty of positive reinforcement as he grows. He’s a very sweet boy and will make a wonderful companion for a family ready to guide him through puppyhood and beyond!

Snapshot of Gordy: Size? Medium-Large (48 lbs) Activity Level? High -he is a border collie mix, after all! ;) Noise Level? Low Good with Dogs? Yes Good with Cats? Yes Good with Kids? Likely, but no children in foster home. Good with Strangers? Yes Potty Trained? Yes, with appropriate supervision and a schedule. Crate Trained? Yes Shedding? Medium About Gordy: Hi, my name is Gordy! I also respond to Gordo, Gordito, Sir Gordon, and Cheesy Gordita Crunch. I am an adorable border collie/lab mix who wants nothing more than a home to call my own--and, preferably, a ball to call my own as well. I LOVE to chase balls, and if no balls are around, I'll make do with chasing anything you throw for me--stuffies, sticks, ropes... the options are endless. My foster mom says that I'm amazingly well adjusted given my relatively rough history. I was 1 of 16 (!!) dogs rescued from a local home, and I haven't had the best care before now. For example, you might notice that I have a bit of a limp due to a wonky front foot. The vet says that this is likely caused by a ruptured tendon that didn't heal right. Fortunately, it doesn't slow me down at all! I also recently had 8 front teeth removed, including 3 of my canines, which were all fractured, likely from biting at the bars of a crate. Still, nothing can bring down my happy-go-lucky personality (except, of course, when my foster mom puts away my ball for the night). Something else you should know about me is that I tested positive for two tick-borne diseases, Anaplasmosis and Lyme. I received treatment and I don’t have any signs of chronic Lyme infection - which is AMAZING news! I will likely continue to test positive for both of these for the rest of my life due to chronic antibodies. It is possible that I could develop side effects from Lyme later in my life but for now I’m a happy and healthy boy! Here's a bit more from my foster mom: An ideal home for Gordy would be one that can give him lots of mental and physical stimulation. He really enjoys chewing on bones and bully sticks, playing tug with toys, and playing fetch. He's also a smart boy and has picked up on sit, lay down, and crate up very quickly. We're working on some new commands for him to show off! I think he'd do great with someone who enjoys having a dog that can be a companion to them on a variety of adventures! Gordy is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own! A Note from the Foster: Sweetie lives up to her name. She is full of love and ready to find her forever home. She’s got a beautiful white coat and is working on finding the right ways to show her abundance of love and happiness. Sweetie thinks she’s a lap dog and loves to lounge on the futon or the couch while snuggling her person. At 20 months she still has some puppy energy in her and burns that off playing chase with the resident dog in the backyard. Sweetie gets along well with other dogs about her same size. She doesn’t quite understand personal space and that she’s a bit bigger. She would be good as an only dog or with a sidekick to show her the ropes. Sweetie might be a bit much with younger kids but good for older kids that are active and love to play outside. Sweetie does have limited vision however she has adapted well to her foster home without accommodation. She does fine getting around without assistance and does the stairs without issues. Sweetie is still working on learning to take walks on a leash. Her vision and lack of confidence comes out. A fenced yard would be great for Sweetie. Her foster mom says Sweetie loves to run laps around the leaf piles in the backyard and has become comfortable navigating the yard on her own. Sweetie really is a sweetheart trying to live her best life. She loves to give licks and nose boops. Sweetie loves to carry her toys around the house and an occasional shoe or 2 have been found in her bed.

History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own! A Note from the Foster: As a transport driver for the OOTC 2025 rescue mission, I met many pups that were in need of our help. When this handsome guy caught my eye, I was certain he would be coming home with me until finding his forever home. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with this sweet boy, Sailor! Sailor is a typical Cattle Dog in many ways, (intelligent, clever, alert, energectic, loyal, curious, fun) but what surprised me the most was his calm demeanor and good behavior at home. His activity level is moderate to high, so he would thrive in a household that can incorporate daily walks, runs, or hikes into his routine. On our walks, Sailor does well on a leash with minimal pulling, especially when corrected. He's super friendly with other dogs and humans, this being the main reason for his need to pull. While he has a reasonable prey drive for squirrels, there are no major concerns. A fenced yard would be best, but not necessary. (He currently lives without one). Sailor hasn't interacted with cats but has adapted smoothly to living with my chihuahua mix and tri-pod. He learned quickly to respect their boundaries and to easily coexist with his two bossy foster sisters. He has been patient with my tri-pod and has taught her he can be trusted player. Sailor is fully potty trained, doesn't mark indoors, and is learning the comforts of his crate. Car rides have become his favorite activity knowing a pup cup is waiting for him at our favorite drive-thru. Sailor definitely has a soft side and loving heart. Although somewhat independent, he really enjoys snuggling up with both his humans and canines. At my office, he's known as the friendly pup who greets everyone behind the gate, seeking neck scratches, treats and their permission to leap over said gate! Cattle Dogs can often be nervous around quick moving children. He has spent a fair amount of time with young kids (3 &5) and has surprised me with how well he has done. On occasion, he displays his natural need to herd, but will responds to correction. This is something he will need to continue to work on, but I would not let it deter you from considering welcoming this A+ guy into your life. He's a wonderful adventurous companion with a lot of love to give!

Story
History: We recently welcomed a deserving litter of cattle dog pups who are SO beautiful and sweet in their own unique ways. They are officially ready to start accepting adoption interest and hope to each find their forever homes soon! A Note from the Foster: Hi I'm Colt! I'm a curious, fun loving little guy! All I want to do is play and check out all the new things. I'm learning how to walk on a leash. Sometimes I like to grab the leash in my mouth and pull my foster mom along. I'm trying to figure out if this could be a fun game of tug-o-war or not. Currently in potting training. My foster mom's dog is showing me how fun it is to go potty outside on walks, and that outside things are not snacks. I'm a smart little guy so I'm sure I'll catch on when I'm a little bit older. I sleep well in my kennel at night. I'd rather be hanging out with you so I might cry for about 15 minutes but then I go to sleep. I'm hoping you'll give me lots of exercise and mental stimulation since I'm a cattle dog, which is a high energy breed. If I don't get mental stimulation I might create my own fun. I'm known to steal a slipper or find some good tissue paper to shred. I'm sure I'd be a great running or hiking buddy someday! I would do well in a house with no young children. I don't understand their fast movements and it makes me scared. I don't know how to properly interact with them right now. My foster mom hopes you will love me and show me the good life! I'm incredibly cute and just want to be where ever you are!
