Story
In search of a serial kisser, the best kind of serial out there, right? Well then I, Mandy, am the dog for you! I'm a mix of awesomeness and 5 years old. I can be laid back and chill or a bouncing ball of joy! I love walks and jogs, with you of course. I also love playing with other dogs. I love it so much, I prefer playing with other dogs over playing with toys. Something else I love, sunbathing! Does your couch have the perfect spot to lay and catch rays? Well then I should absolutely be laying there. I really enjoy laying around, like under tables. Dinner time? I'm under that table. Working at your desk? I'm laying under that too. You laying in bed? Guess what. I'm there too. I'm all about my people and if you adopt me then I'll be all about you! Mandy is a 5 year old mix. She is good with other dogs and kids (works best with submissive/non-dominant dogs). She is crate trained and potty trained with a doggy door. She knows the commands to go to her crate and to sit. She eats her meals in her crate and will routinely relax in it during the day. She loves food and will steal any if you're not watching. She will do best in a yard that has a secured bottom. ***Mandy has EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) which basically means, my pancreas has not been producing the yummy enzymes I need to adequately digest my food. Because my rescuers were SO astute and proactive, they figured it out (with help of the vet, of course). I will require a certain diet and supplement, highly digestible and low fat foods along with a pancreatic enzyme replacement supplement. Basically, every meal I get an appetizer and entree. Easy pleasy. EPI does not necessarily require "prescription" food, and Mandy has drastically improved since the Pancreatic Enzymes added to her diet*** She will need enzymes for life, however, you will get serial kisses day in and day out too.... a great trade off :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting.  If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***   DOB:  06/05/2021 Requires another dog in home: Yes, a confident dog Okay with dogs of all sizes: Smaller dogs only Okay with cats: Yes Okay with children under 12 years old: No Weight: 20 pounds  Requires a fenced yard:  Yes Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area.  Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Benji! I am a very handsome young adult male Mini Aussiedoodle who doesn’t like a lot of commotion, but I love to cuddle, and I prefer women. Truth is, I am highly sensitive and reactive to ‘stranger danger’! That’s right, I react to people approaching the front door, coming into the house, and even people approaching my kennel. I know…it’s not something I’m proud of but I’m working on it…really, I am!! In fact, foster mom is trying to help me associate new people (strangers) with positive outcomes and I am confident that I will be successful in time but for now it is still a work in progress. In the meantime, mom sometimes puts a muzzle on me and although it doesn’t bother me at all I prefer, of course, not to wear it so my new family will need to commit to working with me on training. Muzzle training may make me look scary, but it allows me to safely meet and work on my training so I can be happy!  After all, consistency, patience, loving encouragement, and LOTS of mental and physical stimulation are the keys to my success!!! I am good with older kids, cats, and other dogs; and my favorite activities include going on my daily leashed walks or car rides; hiking; exploring; eating treats like plain Greek yogurt or pumpkin; playing with small squeaky toys and other dogs; chewing on Benebones; and running zoomies in the yard so the yard at my new home will need to be fenced! Hee, hee!! I also hope to have a small, confident doggie companion who might help me overcome some of my anxiety about strangers!!! By the way, I almost forgot to mention that I am a prodigy…no, really! I know everything from how to do my business outside to a deluge of commands like “sit”, “down”, “come”, “kennel/crate”, “wait”, “leave it”, “outside”, and “go potty”!! Thankfully, I enjoy learning, especially when I have a strong, confident, respectful leader, and I really love pleasing my people!! Anyway, foster mom says that I am the “most affectionate” dog she’s ever met and as hard as I try, I simply cannot disagree with her! Hee, hee!! All I need in my life now is YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving forever family who will not only NEVER give up on me but will commit to helping me overcome my fears!! I promise that not only am I totally worth it, but I will enrich your life in ways you could never imagine!!! Love, Benji Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.   This dog has received grooming with us at Underdog Rescue, but was likely neglected of grooming attention until he came into our care.  It can sometimes take months to get their coat healthy as Doodle mixes require daily brushing.  Grooming appointments occur every 3 months and cost on average of $150 per appointment.  Adopters should be prepared for such expenses.  Underdog Rescue cannot guarantee the non-shedding or hypoallergenic qualities of this dog.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.   FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Flynn. I am a very sweet albeit shy senior male Australian Shepherd who likes to steal toys and sneak them into my kennel. Now, full disclosure…I have no idea what I’m supposed to do with them, but they keep me warm and make good kennel companions! Hee, hee!! I also love snacks like peanut butter, eggs, apples, and popcorn…but none of that microwave stuff…real popcorn!! Hee, hee!! I have not met any kids and I am fearful of commotion, sudden movements, and people in general, so I don’t think young kids are a good fit for me. There is a cat in my foster home and it is very confusing to me! I am afraid of it - but foster mom says I am doing my best to be brave and figure it out so likely we will be fine.  I also do not like loud noises like thunderstorms, vacuums/carpet cleaners, or sudden sounds from outside and I will holler if something startles me. Hopefully my new home will have a companion for me and a fenced yard where we can safely frolic and explore. I could use more leash experience, but I know what “outside” and “go potty” mean and I’m potty trained when on a schedule. Oh yeah, I almost forgot…foster mom not only allows me to sleep in the bed with her, but she appreciates my adorable warning signs if I hear something and the gentle way I wake her up if I need to go outside. Honestly, there are no words to describe my adorable noises, but they crack her up and making my people smile is my goal in life! All I need in my now is a patient fur-ever family who will love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me. If you’ll welcome me into your life, I promise I will love you to the moon and back. Once I feel safe and become acclimated to my surroundings, I really am the sweetest boy EVER…seriously, foster mom’s seen it! Hee, hee!! Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, I’m Zoey, a quiet and very stunning adult Mini Australian Shepherd who is pretty timid when it comes to doing new things but once my people have earned my trust and I’m comfortable, I’m a high-energy gal who wants non-stop pets! Hee, hee!! I am very food/treat motivated, I enjoy gnawing on bones, exploring, and spending time outside, but my true passion is being near my people. In fact, I even have a bit of separation anxiety…I love being with my people so much that when they leave, I pace around until they return. I mean seriously, who wants to be ‘abandoned’ am I right!?! Well, that’s what it feels like to me when my people leave but once they’re home with me and I know they’re safe all is right in the world again! I have not met any cats, kids, or larger dogs but I am good with smaller dogs. I live with a resident dog from whom I am learning to play with toys and navigate stairs so it would be great to have a companion at my new home too unless my family can be home with me most of the time. I am a smart girl who knows what “sit” means; potty training is coming along nicely on a solid schedule; and I am leash trained. The kennel/crate however…well, it stresses me out and not only do I pace in there, but I will potty and poop in it. I think it’s safe to say that nobody relishes the thought of cleaning me up after pacing through my mess so foster mom allows me to be in an alternate confined area when she’s out and she’ll put potty pads in case I need them. She’s the greatest!! Hee, hee!! Anyway, I am an absolute sweetheart looking for my fur-ever home. All I need is a patient family who will love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me, so if you’re looking for a snuggle-buddy I am your gal!! I promise I am worth it and once you experience MY snuggles, you’ll wonder how you EVER lived without them! Mac is a sweet boy who knows what he wants! He does love to chase and play with animals smaller than him. Due to this we suggest that he does not go home to a family that has cats or things like chickens. Squirrels watch out! This little guy can move! Mac also enjoys being the only dog. He would prefer a home where he is the center of attention and can soak up all the puppy love from his people. He is a lazy boy and does enjoy snoozing and spending time on the couch napping but at the same time can have his moments where he is ready to go. He is housebroken and does just fine in a crate! If he sounds like the boy for you then don't wait! Kage is a good boy, and just SO cute ;) He is a gentleman in the house, fully potty trained and leash/ harness trained. He gets along great with other dogs and enjoys playing in the backyard with his buds... Kage is a gorgeous lab/border collie mix, the perfect combination of smarts and drive with the family-ness of a lab. He is a great size as well- kind of a mini lab or slightly larger border collie! When you have two great things that go great together, you CELEBRATE!! He is that combo, so you can celebrate by actually adopting him into a fantastic home! He has such a sweet temperament, great with everyone he meets. He does not do well with storms but can be managed, he loves his people and is best if they are around alot. His foster mom just loves him and has gotten him as prepared for his family as she can, now it is up to you! ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!!!!! His LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!!
