I am a very handsome young adult male Mini Aussiedoodle who doesn’t like a lot of commotion, but I love to cuddle, and I prefer women. Truth is, I am highly sensitive and reactive to ‘stranger danger’! That’s right, I react to people approaching the front door, coming into the house, and even people approaching my kennel. I know…it’s not something I’m proud of but I’m working on it…really, I am!! In fact, foster mom is trying to help me associate new people (strangers) with positive outcomes and I am confident that I will be successful in time but for now it is still a work in progress. In the meantime, mom sometimes puts a muzzle on me and although it doesn’t bother me at all I prefer, of course, not to wear it so my new family will need to commit to working with me on training. Muzzle training may make me look scary, but it allows me to safely meet and work on my training so I can be happy!  After all, consistency, patience, loving encouragement, and LOTS of mental and physical stimulation are the keys to my success!!! I am good with older kids, cats, and other dogs; and my favorite activities include going on my daily leashed walks or car rides; hiking; exploring; eating treats like plain Greek yogurt or pumpkin; playing with small squeaky toys and other dogs; chewing on Benebones; and running zoomies in the yard so the yard at my new home will need to be fenced! Hee, hee!! I also hope to have a small, confident doggie companion who might help me overcome some of my anxiety about strangers!!! By the way, I almost forgot to mention that I am a prodigy…no, really! I know everything from how to do my business outside to a deluge of commands like “sit”, “down”, “come”, “kennel/crate”, “wait”, “leave it”, “outside”, and “go potty”!! Thankfully, I enjoy learning, especially when I have a strong, confident, respectful leader, and I really love pleasing my people!! Anyway, foster mom says that I am the “most affectionate” dog she’s ever met and as hard as I try, I simply cannot disagree with her! Hee, hee!! All I need in my life now is YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving forever family who will not only NEVER give up on me but will commit to helping me overcome my fears!! I promise that not only am I totally worth it, but I will enrich your life in ways you could never imagine!!! Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. This adorable little girl and her siblings came in to rescue last winter after they were dumped on a back country road. Their mother was found deceased, so we took the puppies in to try to save them. They were very sick initially but are very healthy now. Dainty is a gentle little girl, but dose love to run and play with other dogs. She has done amazing with her house and crate training. She is so deserving of a wonderful home to call her own. She is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Meet Chip! This handsome boy is being fostered in East TN Athens. Out of state welcome. The adoption fee listed on adopt a pet includes transport to your area. We use Rescue Riders for all our transport needs because they are the best. Chip is such a sweet handsome boy. He is very affectionate and playful. He is a young boy almost a year old and curious as they come. He had the head tilt move to expert level. He wags his super short tail all the time. He’s a happy go lucky kind of boy. He was going to be euthanized due to time and space at our local shelter so we pulled him out to save him. He was adopted and then returned we were told he had some food guarding tendencies. Well we don’t see this at all in fact we accidentally forgotten on a few occasions about that and petted him while eating or moved his bowl while he was eating and he could have cared less. We are not sure if this was directed towards other dogs or not but we do not feed them together here. He has also not been possessive of any toys at all. He plays well with other dogs large and small. He is crate trained and is doing excellent at house training. He is still just a young pup so he would need to be treated like a puppy. Don’t leave things out for him to get into. Take him out to potty in his new home and praise him for going on the new yard etc. he’s a great dog and will make a lucky family very happy. We think he would do best with older kids because he does play pretty hard and would knock the smaller ones around. Apply at petpath.org.

Big boy was the largest of the puppies, but his siblings have caught up to him. He has done amazing with his house and crate training. He is so deserving of a wonderful home to call his own. Meet Boots! This sweet 5-year-old, 35-pound Aussie/Beagle mix is pure happiness wrapped in fur. Boots adores people, loves being around other dogs, and can’t get enough attention. She’s friendly, affectionate, and full of that joyful energy that makes you smile the moment you meet her. Boots originally came from our rescue, but was sadly given away when her family moved. She was later found stray and made her way back to us—still as loving and gentle as ever. You’d never know she’s been through so much; she greets everyone with an open heart and a happy tail. With her soft spirit, loyalty, and big, loving personality, Boots will make a wonderful companion for just about any family. Introducing Missy, she is a 4-year-old spayed female miniature Australian Shepherd. She is housebroken and crate trained. She has lived with cats but would do best in a home if she was the only dog. She knows basic manners such as sit down, stay and come and walks perfectly on leash. She is not your typical miniature Australian Shepherd as her energy is not very high and she likes to just go on her daily walk and then sit around at home.
