Looking for the Right Home for a Very Special Boy ❤️ Our 7-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix is deeply loved and has been a cherished member of our family for many years. After a lot of soul-searching, tears, and difficult conversations, we’ve made the heartbreaking decision to find him a home that better fits his needs and keeps everyone safe as our family grows. Let’s start with the good stuff: If you’re part of his inner circle, you are his people. He is incredibly affectionate, loyal, goofy, and loving with those he trusts. He’s the type of dog who believes personal space is optional and would happily spend his days following you from room to room as your furry shadow. He loves his family fiercely and takes his job as “Head of Household Security” very seriously. Now for the honest part (because he deserves a home that knows exactly who he is): Our boy is not a social butterfly. In fact, he would probably like me to tell you that other dogs are highly overrated. He has a history of aggression toward other dogs and has bitten dogs in the past. He is also wary of some men and has nipped at men before. He can be skittish and anxious in unfamiliar situations and around unfamiliar people. Because of this, he needs: • An experienced dog owner • A home without young children • A home where he is the only pet • Someone who understands and respects his boundaries • A calm, structured environment We think he may do best with a single woman or a patient, loving couple willing to take the time to earn his trust and give him the stability he craves. He’s crate-trained, generally does well on walks, and thrives when he knows what to expect. Once he trusts you, his loyalty is unmatched. We are not rehoming him because we don’t love him. In fact, we’re rehoming him because we do. We want him to have the safest, happiest life possible, and we feel that his needs no longer align with the realities of our growing family. This decision has broken our hearts, and finding the right home matters far more to us than finding a quick one. We are committed to being completely transparent because he deserves a family who loves him for exactly who he is—quirks, flaws, giant heart, and all. If you think you might be that person, we’d love to talk.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.**If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please complete an application directly on our website, www.hoofwoofmeow.org - not through a 3rd party service. **   Meet Moxie.  Moxie is an approximately 8 year old, boxer mix.  There is nothing more important to Moxie than being with people. She wants all the attention, love and belly rubs one can offer. Emphasis on the belly rubs!  Moxie loves being outside and is always up for a walk. Moxie would do best in a home with a fence as she enjoys laying outside in the warm weather. Moxie will go in a crate and she is also okay being left out as well. She currently sleeps with her foster parents in bed. Moxie would do best with not being left alone for long lengths of time. She’s misses you too much when you’re gone.  She’s a vocal girl that loves to alert you to people walking outside while she watches at the front door. Moxie has been good with kids, but isn’t particularly good at understand her power when she runs and plays. Because of this she will be best with older kids. Moxie is dog selective, but does have a few dog friends she gets along with. A meet and greet will take place with any potential dog siblings.     Moxie’s adoption fee is $175. Story
We’re not sure if she has Betty Davis eyes, but we are CERTAIN that TNT’s Betty Davis has the cutest underbite! She’s a 2.5 year old Boxer lady with the most wiggly lil tail nubbin! So far, Betty has done very well with other dogs and is always trying to engage in play. She’s very gentle and respectful of boundaries, so she’d probably do fine with cats, too. Given her demeanor, we think Betty would make a great family dog and could be a wonderful companion for respectful children. Betty’s foster family has started working with her on her training needs. She is looking for a loving family who will remain committed to continuing her socialization, training, and confidence building! Though she is shy, she is very sweet and interested in making friends! She just needs a home where she can figure things out at her pace! Apply to meet Betty Davis if she sounds like the perfect gem for your home! Betty Davis's adoption fee is $550

Story
Gracie Lou came to us when her previous owner was moving out of state and was unable to bring her along. While saying goodbye to her family was difficult, Gracie Lou is ready to find a new forever home where she can be cherished and loved. One of the first things you'll notice about Gracie Lou is her adorable greeting. When she sees someone she likes, her whole body wiggles with excitement, often with a favorite toy proudly carried in her mouth. It's impossible not to smile when she comes bouncing over to say hello! Gracie Lou previously lived with both dogs and cats and has experience sharing her home with other furry companions. She is a playful young dog who still enjoys having fun, but she also has a sweet, affectionate side and loves spending time with her people. Like many dogs experiencing big life changes, Gracie Lou can sometimes be a little anxious. She would do best with a patient, understanding family that can offer reassurance and help her feel safe when she's uncertain. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will greet you with happy butt wiggles, bring you her favorite toy, and fill your days with love and laughter, Gracie Lou may be the perfect match!

Story
We love Ivy! Ivy is such a charming and friendly dog who makes instant friends with anyone she meets (sometimes needs a minute or 2 with some dogs.) Ivy loves kiddie pools and will entertain herself with toys. Even after they're gutted, she enjoys flipping them around and catching them. If the shred lands in your lap, then you're in on the game too! Ivy's foster mom says: "Boxer mix Ivy is delightful, with excellent house manners, good with small kids, good on a leash. Great with other dogs after a proper introduction. Loves watersports: pools, hoses, and squirt guns. Sweet, friendly, and affectionate with excellent house manners." Ivy is crate trained and has excellent house manners. She is fine with small children. She walks well on a leash but can be strong. Ivy is about 2 yo and weighs about 55 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, screened for parasites, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $390 cash and she is available for foster-to-adopt within the Chicago area. Story
This is Bruno Bamboono. He’s 2 years old and loves being a lap dog. I adopted him from an animal control in Chicago without permission from my parents thinking that they would say yes to him. I took him home because he was in the euthanasia list and he had a scar in his face from hurting himself on purpose in the kennel. I was wrong unfortunately and they want him out immediately. I have 1 month to find him a new home or he goes back to the shelter. He’s extremely cuddly and sweet. He doesn’t bark and loves watching tv. He loves food almost as much as he loves people. If you have another pup he’ll love them forever. He needs training classes and lots of love and patience. He doesn’t quite know what to do with himself when he gets excited and often gets overwhelmed. He loves car rides and long walks and LOVES sand. He wants someone who can love him for who he is!! And yes he is free😊
