Story
Mango is a 6-year-old Boxer/Bulldog mix weighing in at 77 pounds of pure sweetness. This gentle boy has a calm, easygoing nature and absolutely loves being around people. He’s the kind of dog who will happily stay by your side, soaking up affection and enjoying the simple moments. Mango seems to do well around other dogs and carries himself with a soft, friendly demeanor. One of his most endearing features is his adorable head tilt, a result of a past ear infection—it just adds to his charm and makes him even more unforgettable. As a senior, Mango is past the puppy chaos and ready to settle into a loving home where he can relax, be cherished, and give plenty of love in return. Senior dogs like Mango have so much heart to give and are often the most loyal companions. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, and devoted friend, Mango might be the perfect match. Seniors need love too—and Mango is ready to share his with you. Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.

Looking for the Right Home for a Very Special Boy ❤️ Our 7-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix is deeply loved and has been a cherished member of our family for many years. After a lot of soul-searching, tears, and difficult conversations, we’ve made the heartbreaking decision to find him a home that better fits his needs and keeps everyone safe as our family grows. Let’s start with the good stuff: If you’re part of his inner circle, you are his people. He is incredibly affectionate, loyal, goofy, and loving with those he trusts. He’s the type of dog who believes personal space is optional and would happily spend his days following you from room to room as your furry shadow. He loves his family fiercely and takes his job as “Head of Household Security” very seriously. Now for the honest part (because he deserves a home that knows exactly who he is): Our boy is not a social butterfly. In fact, he would probably like me to tell you that other dogs are highly overrated. He has a history of aggression toward other dogs and has bitten dogs in the past. He is also wary of some men and has nipped at men before. He can be skittish and anxious in unfamiliar situations and around unfamiliar people. Because of this, he needs: • An experienced dog owner • A home without young children • A home where he is the only pet • Someone who understands and respects his boundaries • A calm, structured environment We think he may do best with a single woman or a patient, loving couple willing to take the time to earn his trust and give him the stability he craves. He’s crate-trained, generally does well on walks, and thrives when he knows what to expect. Once he trusts you, his loyalty is unmatched. We are not rehoming him because we don’t love him. In fact, we’re rehoming him because we do. We want him to have the safest, happiest life possible, and we feel that his needs no longer align with the realities of our growing family. This decision has broken our hearts, and finding the right home matters far more to us than finding a quick one. We are committed to being completely transparent because he deserves a family who loves him for exactly who he is—quirks, flaws, giant heart, and all. If you think you might be that person, we’d love to talk.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hey there, I’m Dalilah! I’m a 64-pound Boxer mix, professional squirrel chaser, and part-time nap enthusiast. My puppies have all been adopted (you’re welcome, world), and now it’s my turn for a forever home! ✨ When I’m not running off squirrels and bunnies like the neighborhood security guard ️, I’m usually lounging around looking adorable. I’m fully potty trained — zero accidents, 100% good girl. ✅ I love walks, tennis balls, and kids (especially the ones with snacks). I might borrow a stuffed animal or two… purely for emotional support, of course. Cats? Hard pass. They look suspiciously like bunnies, and I take my duties seriously. Car rides aren’t my fave — I prefer a cozy crate where I can grumble quietly about the traffic. Oh, and fun fact: I’m a surprisingly good swimmer! ‍♀️ (Baywatch who?) I get along with most dogs and promise to bring love, laughter, and a little chaos to your life — in the best way possible. So come on — take a chance on your new favorite girl! Apply at projecthopearf.org before I chase my next squirrel! Born 10/6/2022  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 12, 2026, 12:55 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website - not through a 3rd party service.** Meet Sargent — the nicest pittie you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting! This sweet 6 year old (approximately),  60-pound, neutered gentleman is gentle with everyone he meets, including his foster dog brothers. He loves spending time exploring the backyard, lounging in the sunshine, and just hanging out with his dog buddies. Sargent is happy to sleep in a crate, but if you let him, he would much rather curl up next to you at night. He’s affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he’s close to his people. He does bark enthusiastically at times — usually to let you know it’s dinner time or that he’s ready to head outside. In the car, he rides well, though he may whine a little because he’s excited to see where you’re going together. Sargent loves both dogs and people and would make a wonderful addition to just about any home looking for a loyal, loving companion. Sargent’s adoption fee is $350.  This includes age appropriate vaccines, completed wellness visit and microchip   *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website - not through a 3rd party service.*   Are you ready to add a four-legged friend to your family? Look no further than the paw-sitively precious Venus! This shy, 2-year-old pitbull mix is a sweet delight, just waiting to steal your heart. Venus may be a bit cautious around new faces and places, but once she warms up, this girl is a total "tail-wagging" machine! She's a pro on the leash, loves cruising in the car, and is even crate-trained – talk about a well-rounded pup. And with four canine companions already in her pack, she's learning how to control her fears and just be a dog. Venus will need at least a few months to build trust and confidence with her new owner.  She is a dog that needs both mental and physical training and stimulation daily.  A fenced in yard is recommended, and although its not required, we feel another young dog in the house would help her confidence Sure, it may take some time and treats for Venus to fully trust her new humans, but that's all part of the adventure, right? This active girl is looking for a family willing to give her the patience and space she needs to blossom. Just imagine the bond you'll build as you help this shy sweetie come out of her shell. She loves toys and cuddling on her foster parent’s laps at night. She is also a true pitty, as she likes to sunbathe belly side up for hours. So, what are you waiting for? Unleash your heart and consider meeting Venus today! This bundle of furry joy is sure to have you "howling" with happiness in no time. We know her perfect family is out there!   Venus’s adoption fee is $350 and includes her completed wellness visit, microchip and age appropriate vaccinations.     *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications.
