My name is Gustav and I am from Arkansas! I am heartworm positive but will be starting my treatment soon after arriving, so I need a quiet, comfy spot to rest my head and a patient foster who can shower me with love and good vibes while I get better. My adoption can take place during treatment. From the Vet: Gustav is currently being treated for heartworm disease. This includes a 3 month treatment protocol including a staging exam to determine the stage of the animal's disease, a course of antibiotics +/- additional sedatives or other medications as needed, and a series of 3 injections of a medication to kill the adult worms. Gustav's injections are scheduled for the following dates - 11/18, 12/16 and 12/17. During this time it is important that this pet stays at a low stress, low activity level so as not to increase heart rate which can increase risk of complications. Once treated, this animal should get heartworm prevention medications year round for life. We recommend a repeat heartworm test 9 months after the animal's last injection.

He loves walks, outdoor play, car rides and putting face out the car window and snuggling. Hi, my name is Cali and I am from Arkansas! Cali is the sweetest dog we've ever met! She was shy when we first picked her up, but by the end of the 20 minute car ride she was in my lap. She loves being next to, or on top of, people. If we sit down anywhere, she is instantly snuggled up next to us. She is still quite shy around new people, she just needs time to get comfortable. On walks she loves to try to sniff everyone she passes, even though she will shrink away if they try to pet her. I think with more exposure and reassurance, she will be able to gain a lot of confidence. Cali has already proven to be a loving companion is such a short time. Meet Dutch, a stocky little hippo in dog form who is 100% convinced she was put on this earth to see ALL THE THINGS—and preferably as quickly as possible! This confident, enthusiastic girl walked into foster care like she owned the place and hasn’t looked back. She’s friendly, wiggly, loves everyone, and has never met a lap she didn’t want to climb into. Dutch is smart, strong, and FULL of personality. She’s potty trained, knows “sit” and “kennel,” takes treats politely, rides beautifully in the car, and can happily hang out in her kennel with a good chew while you’re away. She’s also been doing great in a home with several lower-energy dogs, although she’d love a canine buddy who can safely match her enthusiasm. Because she can be a little too enthusiastic about chasing smaller dogs, a home without small dogs is recommended for now. Dutch is also an enthusiastic alarm barker. When she sees something exciting—or someone she thinks might be a potential new best friend—she can make sure the entire neighborhood knows about it! Her big bark and excited wiggles might look intimidating to someone who doesn’t know dogs, but underneath it all, she’s usually just saying, “HI! ARE WE FRIENDS YET?!” She does settle quickly with direction, though. While at work with her foster, she was able to sit quietly and behave while her foster talked with a customer and was completely relaxed again in no time. Because of her vocal enthusiasm, a home without shared walls would likely be the best fit. This girl has energy to spare! Walks are still a work in progress—when Dutch gets going, that little tank can pull! She’ll need a family who enjoys training and wants to give her plenty of physical and mental outlets. Adventures, hikes, learning new skills, and maybe even some appropriate pulling activities could be right up her alley. Dutch is working on her manners, especially keeping all four feet on the floor. She adores her people and is absolutely convinced that personal space is optional. She’s been wonderful with her foster’s 8-year-old, but because she doesn’t quite realize how solid she is, a home with older kids is recommended. And then there’s her face. Those wrinkles, those expressions, and the occasional lip stuck on her teeth will keep you laughing. 😂 Dutch may be built like a tank, but underneath all that muscle is a very sweet girl who is simply thrilled to be out of the impound and back in a home. Dutch is looking for a confident, committed human who will give her clear boundaries, continued training, and plenty of opportunities to put her big personality and endless enthusiasm to work. She’s a sponge ready to learn—and she’s going to make one lucky family smile every single day!

Prince was adopted from the Humane Society in Golden Valley, MN when he was around 8 months old. He is currently 5 years and 7 months old. He enjoys cuddling, being lazy, going on walks, and hanging out with his people. We are currently trying to rehome Prince because of his behavior and anxiety with our young daughter. He would thrive in a home without children. He can be anxious upon meeting new people and dogs but warms up quickly with patience. Prince is a very sweet dog, and needs a better fitting home.
