Story
Meet Milo: Your Goofy, Cuddly Co-Pilot! Looking for a loyal best friend who will follow you to the ends of the earth (or at least from room to room)? Meet Milo, a spirited and incredibly affectionate Boxer mix who is ready to fill your home with energy, laughter, and so much love! When Milo is with his people, his true goofy personality shines. He is a total family boy who thrives on connection—whether that means playing a fun game of fetch, enjoying the great outdoors, or happily snoozing on the couch right next to you. He is wonderful with the people in his inner circle, sharing his warm, eager-to-please energy with everyone in his household. He also absolutely loves playing with other dogs! Milo isn't just a handsome face; he’s a smart cookie, too! He is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. He already knows commands like "sit," "down," and "come," and is actively working on "place" and "heel." He is incredibly food and toy motivated, making training a fun and rewarding bonding experience. Because Milo is so deeply devoted to his family, he can be a bit of a homebody who is shy and hesitant when meeting new faces. He prefers to take things at his own pace and appreciates slow, calm introductions to strangers and visitors. He can also be a little nervous during car rides, so he's looking for a patient family who can help build his confidence with gentle, positive reinforcement. Ready to add this loyal boy to your pack? Apply to meet Milo today!

Story
Meet Oscar! Oscar is a 4-year-old Boxer/Mountain Cur mix with a shiny black-and-tan coat and bright, expressive eyes that seem to smile when he’s happy. Medium-sized at about 53 pounds, he’s an athletic and affectionate companion who loves to be outside, explore new scents, and play in the leaves. Oscar is smart, eager to please, and bonds deeply with his people. He thrives on routine, gentle guidance, and positive reinforcement. Once he trusts you, he’s incredibly loyal and will happily curl up near you after a good walk or play session. Oscar has been working with a veterinary behaviorist for anxiety and fear-based behaviors. He does best in a calm, structured home without children, where his boundaries can be respected and he can feel secure. He’s currently on a behavior-support plan (including medication and training) that has helped him relax and enjoy life more. His ideal adopter will be someone experienced with dogs who have anxiety or fear issues, and who can continue his care with patience and consistency. In the right home, Oscar will reward that patience with love, devotion, and plenty of happy tail wags. If you’re interested in giving Oscar the calm, understanding home he deserves, please reach out to Jeremy at oscar_email@icloud.com to learn more about this sweet boy and the next steps. Oscar’s owners are committed to finding him the right home and are willing to travel a significant distance to help ensure a successful placement. If you’re interested but not local, please send them an email.

Story
Meet Barnadine! Barnadine is a handsome 4.5-month-old brindle Boxer mix with the sweetest personality to match his beautiful coat. Now weighing about 25 pounds (as of 4/3), he’s growing into the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and cuddly companion. This lovable boy enjoys spending time outside and has been exploring the yard on leash — he absolutely loves being outdoors! He’s playful and happy to entertain himself, but when he’s tired, his favorite place is curled up in a lap or resting by your feet, soaking up all the snuggles he can get. He’s truly a “lovable mush” at heart. Barnadine loves everybody he meets and brings a gentle, easygoing energy wherever he goes. Barnadine is: ✔️ Great with dogs ✔️ Good with kids and adults of all ages ✔️ Crate trained (will sleep in his crate at night and go in when needed, though he’d much rather be with his people!) ✔️ Puppy pad trained (he doesn’t ask to go out yet, but gives cues and is working on bell training!) ✔️ Walking nicely on leash ✔️ Very gentle and easygoing He loves toys, treats, pets, and affection — basically, he loves everything! He rarely barks, doesn’t shed much, travels well, and has shown no resource guarding or behavioral concerns. He’s currently working on his basic commands and is eager to learn. Barnadine would thrive in a home ready for puppy fun, continued training, and lots of cuddle time. With his affectionate nature and playful spirit, he’s going to grow into an amazing companion. If you’re looking for a sweet brindle boy who will happily play, entertain himself, and then snuggle up right next to you, Barnadine is your guy. Story
Meet Jimmy,(fka King) a charming and affectionate seven-year-old pup who’s truly as majestic as his name suggests. This sweet, handsome boy was on the list to be euthanized and we were fortunate enough to save him minutes before it was too late. Surrendered through no fault of his own, Jimmy was deeply loved by his previous family, who made the difficult decision to rehome him after moving in to care for elderly parents. This loyal boy has known nothing but love and kindness and is now hoping to find his next forever home—one where he can once again be someone’s best friend, hiking buddy, and devoted shadow.Jimmy is the perfect blend of playful and chill. He's housebroken, crate trained, and knows all his basic commands—including “sit,” “stay,” “wait,” and “leave it.” He’s got great leash manners, walking at a calm, easy pace with only the occasional tug when something especially exciting (like a stray cat!) crosses his path. He’s easily redirected with a gentle voice or treat and always eager to please. Speaking of treats, he loves them :) Jimmy’s previous owner stated that he was attacked by two dogs before coming into the shelter (see his adorably wonky ear). He’s been getting along great with the dogs he’s met in foster, but if you have another dog a meet and greet is required to make sure it’s a good match. Jimmy loves to play with his toys and would be great with older kids. He would make a wonderful addition to a lucky family If you think you can give Jimmy all the love he deserves and would like to meet him, please go to Petstablished.com or follow the link below to complete an application to adopt. Story
Champagne is the most sweethearted dog on this planet, she doesn’t bark, she doesn’t do anything aggressive whatsoever. I would keep her but I cannot do to unforeseen circumstances changing. There will be a $0 adoption fee because I’m not looking to make money from moving her, I just want her to go somewhere she’ll definitely be loved and taken care of. She works perfect with other dogs and cats and even children of all ages. She is definitely house trained and trained with some of the basic commands, and at times can even be walked without a leash. I really just want to find her a good home, a sweet dog that doesn’t bark at all that is also trained almost sounds to good to be true I know, just wait until you meet champagne.

Story
Athens - 8 weeks & 5lbs, Boxer/Collie Mix, Neutered Parvo Survivor  - No long term health implications - just a super lucky pup!  Expected full grown size about 35lbs  This puppy is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience required:INTERMEDIATE – As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Relevant puppy care experience is a huge plus, but bare minimum the adopter must have TONS of time and patience. Raising a puppy can be a lot of fun, but it’s also  tremendous work. Puppies’ personalities and exercise/stimulation requirements change dramatically between now and when they’re a year old as their bodies and brains develop, so an active lifestyle and the ability to adapt to a pup’s evolving needs are a must. We strongly urge professional dog training with a rewards based trainer from the get go. Adults only or kids ages 8 and up – all puppies go through a mouthy, rambunctious phase and often accidentally hurt children when playing. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN BREED RESEARCH to make sure you have a better understanding of the kind of temperament and exercise requirements this dog may have as an adult. Energy level:MEDIUM – Very young puppies sleep and nap a lot, but their energy level skyrockets when they become teens (4 months to around a year). As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day at a minimum. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Working on this skill. Puppies under 12 weeks old are often on track with their wee pad skills, but they’re too young to walk outside in public NYC areas yet because they haven’t finished their puppy vaccine series. Puppies older than 12 weeks are usually learning to do their business outside. Potty training takes a lot of patience, consistency, and clean up.  Social with dogs?Yes. Some puppies are shy, others are bold, but all have the potential to be taught healthy socializing skills. It’s a huge part of raising a puppy and must be done carefully. How they interact with other dogs depends largely on how their humans help them learn to.  Social with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Sort of – some puppies enjoy interacting with children, others get easily overwhelmed by their energy and attention. Regardless, most puppies are not a great match for a home with kids under age 8 because they go through intense mouthy play and rambunctious phases and often accidentally hurt young kids while playing. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.   Social with cats?Yes. Most puppies have the potential to be friends with a cat. It’s on the adopter to know their cat’s temperament and preferences and to teach their puppy respectful manners.  Mouthy play: High! All puppies go through phases where they chew your stuff and grab your hands, arms, feet… puppies naturally explore the world, play, and test boundaries with their mouths. (It also happens when they’re teething.) Their teeth are super sharp, so it can be a very painful phase for humans and other animals in the home. Proper training, outlets, and socialization are key. Separation anxiety:Most puppies have some level of separation anxiety as they learn to self soothe. Often they cry the first 10+ minutes at night or when they are left home alone or in a crate. Consistent training and alone time is crucial. Leash manners:None or learning, depending on the puppy’s age. Will need to work on this skill.   Crate trained?Probably not. None of our new puppies have been formally trained, but many of our foster parents/adopters choose to crate train so some of the puppies that have been with us for a little while are learning this skill. It can be a great way to keep puppies safe and teach them independence. Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines, spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake. (For dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age.) How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses.  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2756908##
