Story

Drako is a 4 Year Old Boxer Pitbull mix. He is an extremely funny, loving, kind, caring dog who needs someone to give him the time he deserves. He does have some trauma from when he was a puppy, he was bit by other dogs that were being fostered and developed a fear. We went to training but it does take him time to open up. I have two pitbulls, who both need more attention from me, and I believe, in the right home, Drako will be a lot happier. If you’re looking for a dog who will go anywhere with you, that will cuddle you and can keep you on your toes, he is definitely the dog for you. I would love someone experienced since he does have some trauma but he loves any and all people. He is perfect for the adventurous owner! Great on hikes, runs and long walks.

Meet Jimmy,(fka King) a charming and affectionate six-year-old pup who’s truly as majestic as his name suggests. This sweet, handsome boy was on the list to be euthanized and we were fortunate enough to save him minutes before it was too late. Surrendered through no fault of his own, Jimmy was deeply loved by his previous family, who made the difficult decision to rehome him after moving in to care for elderly parents. This loyal boy has known nothing but love and kindness and is now hoping to find his next forever home—one where he can once again be someone’s best friend, hiking buddy, and devoted shadow.Jimmy is the perfect blend of playful and chill. He's housebroken, crate trained, and knows all his basic commands—including “sit,” “stay,” “wait,” and “leave it.” He’s got great leash manners, walking at a calm, easy pace with only the occasional tug when something especially exciting (like a stray cat!) crosses his path. He’s easily redirected with a gentle voice or treat and always eager to please. Speaking of treats, he loves them :) Jimmy’s previous owner stated that he was attacked by two dogs before coming into the shelter (see his adorably wonky ear). He’s been getting along great with the dogs he’s met in foster, but if you have another dog a meet and greet is required to make sure it’s a good match. Medium-sized at about 53 pounds, he’s an athletic and affectionate companion who loves to be outside, explore new scents, and play in the leaves. Oscar is smart, eager to please, and bonds deeply with his people. He thrives on routine, gentle guidance, and positive reinforcement. Once he trusts you, he’s incredibly loyal and will happily curl up near you after a good walk or play session. Oscar has been working with a veterinary behaviorist for anxiety and fear-based behaviors. Our veterinary partner estimates that Spanky is 8 years old at the time of intake in April 2022. Spanky's life was on hold while he languished in a kill shelter with a large tumor on his back. As soon as we found out about Spanky, we pulled him out and sent him to our veterinary partner where the tumor was removed. He is doing great now with his foster and is ready for a forever home! Spanky is good with people and other dogs. He is very sweet, loving, and alert. He loves peanut butter, toys, and spending time in the sun. He takes a toy to bed with him each night. He also enjoys running around the yard. This boy is super sweet and friendly, and his tail never stops wagging! He deserves to live the rest of his life in a happy, loving home.
