Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $100 plus taxDon't let her spicy name fool you! Jalapeño is a very sweet, active and playful little house panther!  She is great with other cats and an endless source of entertainment.  Jalapeño and her siblings were not well socialized when they were young, at the time she was fixed MARS made the decision to have her ear clipped in case she was unable to adjust to indoor life.  She has ended up a happy indoor kitty.  She is social with other cats, and loves to play.  She also has come a long way with people.  She loves affection on her own terms.  She cuddles with her foster at night and seeks out petting- however she won't let you pick her up, and she will often startle and run if you approach her while she is tending to important panther business.  She will be happiest with another playful and confident cat.   * Kittens under 4 months tend to do best in homes with another cat or kitten for socialization.  If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250 plus taxHi there, I’m Duncan! I’m gentle, silly, and a little quirky—the kind of companion who will keep you smiling with my super sweet heart and funny little meows. I’m a social butterfly still learning to fully spread my wings! I want to greet you, rub up on you, play with you, and get lots of attention, pets, and neck scratches. But as I’m learning, I still have a touch of shyness… sometimes I dart away at sudden movements or new noises, but don’t worry—I’ll come back quickly! And I think I’ll grow out of this as my confidence just continues to grow and grow. I love hanging out near my people. My favorite spot is on my foster mom’s work desk, where I supervise… until I get distracted by purring, biscuit-making, and eventually napping. My favorite things include any and all toys (I’ll chase them with gusto!), looking out the patio door (imagining myself chasing squirrels in the backyard), and zoomies (because sometimes life just calls for a burst of energy). My absolute favorite thing in the whole world is squeeze tube treats. Seriously, I’ll forget about everything else when those come out! My ideal home is with someone who will give me time to adjust as I reach my full potential. Once I settle in, I’m fine with new people and kids, too. A cat friend would be wonderful—I like other kitties and would love a buddy to play with.  If you’re ready to welcome a gentle, funny, quirky kitty who will reward your love with endless purrs, playtime, and zoomies, I think we’ll be the perfect match. Story
Meet Mama Mitten, a sweet girl who worked hard to raise her four kittens after being found in a garage. A wonderful family brought her inside so she could give her babies a safe and warm start. Mitten raised three boys and one girl, and now she is ready to find her own forever home. She is a tuxedo girl with bright white paws that look like little mittens, which is how she got her name. She is very loving and loves to talk to her people. She is still nervous around dogs, which makes sense for a protective mom, but she is doing well with other cats. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper (PCR) vaccines appropriate to age, Feline leukemia/FIV/HW test, rabies vaccine, and heartworm, ear mite & flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $250 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 15, 2025, 10:10 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgOur Adoption Fee is Sponsored!Desi and Lucy's Adoption fees are sponsored they just want a loving home.Hi, I'm Desi. My owner passed away and I've experienced a lot of changes, so I'm timid at first and will hide a lot. But once I start to feel more comfortable I spend more time with you and let you pet me and play with me. My confidence and comfort with people increases over time. My favorite toy is a wand toy that has toys dangling from it, my foster mom gave it to me. She spends time playing with me and keeps all my experiences positive. I'm 13 years old but I still have a burst of energy when my foster mom takes out my wand toy and starts to play with me. I prefer a home with adults and older kids (no dogs or young kids please), other cats are okay as long as they're older and mellow, but we need a gradual introduction to other cats.    I have a best friend, Lucy, and we're looking for a new forever home together. I did great at my vet visit when I got my rabies and distemper shot, but I need my best friend by my side during vet visits for comfort and reassurance. The veterinarian said my heart and lungs sound healthy.  If you think you're a good fit for Lucy and I and would like to be our new forever home let MARS know by filling out an adoption application.
