Bugs Bunny & Celeste – A Friendship Meant to Last !
Some friendships are simply meant to last forever.
Bugs Bunny and Celeste both started their journey with our rescue. When Bugs Bunny was adopted as a young cat into a wonderful home with a very kind man, everyone hoped he’d settle in quickly. But every night, Bugs would cry. It wasn’t because he wasn’t loved—it was because he missed his best friend, Celeste.
Knowing how deeply bonded they were, Bugs’ adopter welcomed Celeste into his home as well. That very first evening, something incredible happened. The man had security cameras throughout his house and watched as Bugs pushed open Celeste’s safe room door, gently took her by the paw, and proudly showed her around their new home. Room by room… even the basement! From that night on, the crying stopped. Bugs had his best friend again.
They spent many wonderful years together, but life had other plans. Their adopter accepted a position in Germany and, with a heavy heart, he had to return them both to us. So now, at about 6 years old, Bugs and Celeste are hoping for one more chance at forever… together.
Bugs Bunny is the social butterfly of the pair. He absolutely adores people, loves attention, and wants to be wherever you are. Celeste is a little quieter and more of a “cat’s cat.” She gains confidence from Bugs and feels happiest when he’s by her side. Together, they complement each other perfectly. Their story is proof that soulmates aren’t always people… sometimes they’re best friends with whiskers.
