Cooper was rescued from the Bakersfield shelter, where he found himself impounded in a scary shelter through no fault of his own. He’s still just a baby and very, very shy, taking his time to warm up and build trust with new people. Once he feels comfortable, his sweet and lovable personality shines through. While he may be a little hesitant around strangers, he is gentle and affectionate with those he knows and trusts. Cooper would make a wonderful companion for someone patient and loving. Plus, he’s not a barker! Cooper also really loves to play with dogs of all ages and sizes! He is very well socialized with other canines and enjoys the company of his dog friends, making him a great playmate. If someone gives him ample time to come around, he will be your absolute best friend. He seems to like women more than men. We have noticed, he will retreat to his dog bed when he is feeling nervous or uncomfortable. He is food motivated so time, consistency and snacks will win this shy guy over!
