For those who are up to a challenge, we are looking for an experienced foster/adopter who can help Hopper. Hopper is a special little guy who needs someone who can work with him and his issues. He has triggers that have lead to bites. He needs help working with someone who knows how to retrain his brain. Hopper is a quirky little guy who does love people, especially when they understand his quirks. Hopper is trustful of the person who cares for him and loves to cuddle and get belly rubs. He needs a person to understand his boundaries and that he gives love on his terms. He loves to run at full speed into rooms to greet everyone there. He is very food motivated. He does not like to be picked up and has a dislike of harnesses. He's getting better with allowing harnesses but needs more work on being desensitized to them. He needs someone who understands and accepts that he does not like being picked up, which is not really necessary. He's learned to use stairs to get up on the couch to sit next to you. At night, he's good in a kennel or on a dog bed. Hopper is good with other dogs who are his size. He's not too welcoming of bigger dogs but tolerates them to a point. He can be food protective so no trying to take away his bowl once he's eating (who would do that anyway?). Hopper is neutered, vaccinated and house trained (might mark in the beginning like most male dogs do). Please contact us if you can help Hopper. Cooper was rescued from the Bakersfield shelter, where he found himself impounded in a scary shelter through no fault of his own. He’s still just a baby and very, very shy, taking his time to warm up and build trust with new people. Once he feels comfortable, his sweet and lovable personality shines through. While he may be a little hesitant around strangers, he is gentle and affectionate with those he knows and trusts. Cooper would make a wonderful companion for someone patient and loving. Plus, he’s not a barker! Cooper also really loves to play with dogs of all ages and sizes! He is very well socialized with other canines and enjoys the company of his dog friends, making him a great playmate. If someone gives him ample time to come around, he will be your absolute best friend. He seems to like women more than men. We have noticed, he will retreat to his dog bed when he is feeling nervous or uncomfortable. He is food motivated so time, consistency and snacks will win this shy guy over!
