Story
Hello future friends! 🐾My name is Pretzel, and I'm looking for my furever family! I'm a Samoyed mix with a big heart and lots of love to give. I'm a good girl-I know lots of commands and even use a doggy doorbell to let you know when I need to go outside for potty breaks. Pretty smart, right? I get along with most dogs I meet but don't understand why I can't chase cats around the house so would do best in a home with no small animals. My previous family couldn't give me the attention and time I need. I'm still young which means I have lots of puppy energy and need walks, playtime, and mental enrichment to help me be my best self. I love being outdoors and exploring!I can feel anxious sometimes, especially with loud sounds or meeting new people, but I'm working on it. My life has been a little topsy-turvy lately, and I just need time and patience to feel safe again. My forever family will need to help me with my confidence and trust building. If you're looking for a sweet, smart, and active pup who will love you forever, I might just be your girl. Could you be the one to give me the home I've been dreaming of?Love, Pretzel 💕*Please note - Dog meets are by appointment only. If you are interested in meeting Pretzel, the first step is to complete your online application. Staff will contact the approved applicant to discuss further. We are currently seeking an adopter within the Fraser Valley as Pretzel is scheduled to be spayed on January 2nd at a clinic in Abbotsford. Meet Squatch! A handsome, loyal boy who's looking for an active, dog-free home where he can burn off all of his energy! He forms strong bonds with his people and thrives on one-on-one attention, making him a wonderful companion for someone who wants a devoted best friend. Squatch does not enjoy the company of other dogs and would be happiest as the only canine in the home. He's affectionate, people-focused, treat motivated & loves spending time with his humans - whether that's hanging out at home or going for walks together. He even knows some tricks! He's shown to be a very smart boy.On leash, Squatch is still a work in progress and will need an adopter who's patient and committed to helping him build better leash manners through training and consistency. With the right guidance and a loving routine, we have faith that Squatch will be the most amazing addition. If you think that Squatch sounds like he could be the guy for you, please submit an application online! Story
Isla is a gorgeous, middle-aged Husky with a heart full of love and a spirit built for adventure. Loyal, outgoing, and just the right amount of mischievous, Isla is the perfect companion for an active home looking for a fun-loving and devoted friend.Like most Huskies, Isla is athletic and energetic - she thrives on long walks, outdoor play, and mental stimulation. (Bonus: she's great on leash!) Despite her age, she's still got plenty of pep in her step and would love a home that can keep up with her adventurous side.Isla absolutely adores being with her people and can get quite anxious when left alone, so a home where someone is around most of the time would be ideal. She must always be walked on a secure harness or supervised in a fully fenced yard - she's a curious girl with a knack for escaping if left to her own devices! This clever lady does have a strong prey drive and can't resist chasing small animals, so a securely enclosed space is a must. She may be able to live with another dog, but introductions should be slow, calm, and carefully managed to ensure a good fit.If you're looking for a loyal companion who will join you on every adventure and reward you with endless affection, Isla might just be the one for you!Submit an online application at adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Meet Ziggy!Do you need a zig to your zag? Ziggy is ready to jump into your arms this holiday season. Ziggy is very shy to meet new people but she isn't one to run away. She will come up and sniff you, maybe give a lick. The best way to her heart is to offer treats or to throw her ball. Ziggy does amazing in reception with the staff, always curious of who walks in the door. Ziggy tends to bark at cats but plays very well with other dogs. We even think she would do well in a home with another dog.If you are interested in Ziggy, please fill out the online application and we will contact you to set up a meet + greet Primary Color: Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 29 Age: 1yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
I will be arriving to Vancouver Mid-Sept. Greetings everyone. My name is ZAHARA and here is a little info about me:Breed: Viszla/Dachshund mixAge: 3 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 28 lbsCountry of origin: MexicoHighlight(s):  Energetic, Daring, Outgoing, Brave Gang way, here I come. Looking for fun times and lovely living in Canada.I was given away by my original owner, who is a travel nurse and had to relocate. My new home didn’t treat me well; I wasn’t fed well and was tied down all day and all night long. I ended up being malnourished and was dumped at the local marketplace. The local rescue staff was contacted by the shop vendor and they took me in two years ago.I am a tough as nails pup, super loving and playful. I have super high energy, making me a great activity companion. I am perfect as an outdoors dog. I have a good nose, run super fast, and would love to go on hikes in the Pacific Northwest. I have been well leash trained. Maybe scent work is in my future... agility? flyball? tracking? Frisbee? I'm sure there are all sorts of sports out there we could do together. Maybe you are a runner needing that friend to pace you. Or a swimmer who wants a paddling buddy.Let's find what suits us and go for it. I'm brave and daring, are you?Being an outgoing girlie, I will do well being in your social circle. I get along withe other dogs too. My rescuer states I am good with kitties as I interacted well with them around the ranch and good with kids, as well. No vids for either of these yet though. I lived in a home for a few months so know about waiting to go potty. It has been a little while, so a refresher about it would be good. An additional note, my rescuer says I have tremendous leadership skills as I was the dog they used to introduce new dogs to the ranch. How's that for all around experience?I am just hoping for an active family. Preferbly with a yard, but if we get out enough, that isn't a requirement.Vids to come. Energy Level: highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown, rescuer states yes, but no video proof yetKids: unknown, rescuer states yes, but no video proof yet Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home! Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered & vaccinated and LAL will pay for my microchip after arrival. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2504724##

Story
Hello! My name is Ranya, and here is a little info about me:Breed: Border Collie mixedAge: 3 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 22 kgCountry of origin: LebanonHighlight(s): Gentle, loving, calm, and endlessly affectionate I’m Ranya — a soft-hearted girl with the sweetest eyes and an even sweeter soul. I love cuddles, treats, and being close to people who care about me. I was found in a remote area, all alone but still clean and calm. No one knew where I came from, and I couldn’t tell my story, but it was clear I once had someone who loved me — until suddenly, they didn’t. Even then, I never gave up. I still wagged my tail, approached people with trust, and hoped someone kind would find me. Luckily, my rescuer found me just in time before the cold nights left me hungry and weak. I’m friendly, affectionate, playful, gentle, and social. I adore people, dogs, and kids alike. I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by love — cuddles and treats make my day! I’d love a warm, caring home with people who enjoy affection as much as I do. A family or individual who can include me in their daily life and give me the love and comfort I’ve always longed for would be perfect.
