Story
Hi there, I'm Cumin! Here is a little info about me: Breed: Jindo/Shari-Pei MixAge: 1.5 yearsGender: Male    Weight: 75 lbHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, rarely bark, no escape tendency, no sign of aggression  My journey began in a city pound when I was just a tiny 2-week-old puppy, alongside my mom and siblings. We were lucky to have a young and caring mom who raised us all to be healthy and happy pups. I inherited a bright and friendly personality from her, and I love playing with my friends and toys. I'm a gentle soul who enjoys the company of others. If I find a special toy, I like to have some quiet time to play with it in a cozy corner. I get along well with other dogs, and I'm always up for a good play session. While I haven't met any cats yet, I'm open to making new feline friends. I have a moderate energy level, so I enjoy outdoor activities but also appreciate some calm relaxation time at home. I may be a bit unsure and scared when it comes to new experiences like walks, but with the right family to guide me, I know I can learn to enjoy exploring the world around me. I haven't shown any signs of aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, or escape tendencies. And while I'm not housetrained just yet, I'm eager to learn and please my new family. If you're looking for a sweet and kind companion to join your family, I could be the perfect match for you. I promise to bring lots of love, joy, and tail wags into your life. Let's create some wonderful memories together! Energy Level: Moderate  I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: Unsure, however as per short encounter with a cat, he will most likely be ok Kids: Unsure Health notes: I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2052978##

Story
My name is Ms. Marley and I am an affectionate, sweet, playful, smart, and quiet 1.5 year old gal. I am part Belgian Malinois and part Labrador retriever. I weigh about 62 lbs and I measure about 20 inches at my shoulder. There is a good chance that I will greatly benefit from a 'job' within my family home. After all, my breed background is to be a working dog. I am not likely to be a dog who sits in front of the fire and just relaxes most of the day.  When I was about four or five months old, I got a viral enteritis causing diarrhea. My then “owner” didn’t want to spend the money to get me treated so I was dropped off at the terrible shelter in Wuhan, China. The terrible shelter wouldn’t take me because they didn’t want to spend the money treating me either. A really nice lady volunteer took me to her vet to get me treated and brought me to her shelter. I have been at her shelter for about a year. I am a good girl who loves to play, being still a young pup. I get along very well with the other dogs and I also love my rescuer and her family. I so long to have a family I can call my own and to flourish with them. I'm told that I am very trainable. So far, I have some leash-walking skills and I have a nice relationship with my rescuer's young daughter. I don't know any cats so I'm not sure how I would be around them. I have been spayed, microchipped, and immunized. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Story
Would you be my Angel? DODIE You will find me an incredibly sweet-natured dog. I am a Chihuahua/Spitz mix, about 7 yrs old. I stand 16 inches at the shoulder and weigh 30 lbs.  It is unknown what originally happened to me, but due to a broken back my back legs are paralyzed. I have an awesome wheelchair that I LOVE to zip around in (especially outside!) and I'm a great walking companion. Currently, I take two 30 min walks a day which seems ideal for me. When I'm out on walks people seem to be amazed by me; my legs may be damaged but my spirit isn't! Many want to pet me (which is awesome) and they tell my foster mom what an angel she is for taking care of me. My foster mom thinks I'm a special girl and worthy of lots of love, for which I'm forever grateful. I would just love an angel to give me a home of my own forever. I walk at a steady pace. I even get a little zoomie energy and like to have a bit of a run, especially if one of those pesky squirrels are about! Otherwise, I like to take time to sniff the flowers, look up at the birds flying overhead and check out if there are any humans willing to pet me. If I get a little distracted, a little bit of encouragement is all I need to continue. I do like to nap a lot during the day or watch out of the window to see who is out and about. My green frog toy is my favourite thing, and will cuddle up with him to go to sleep at night in my 'play pen'. I LOVE snuggling on the sofa and will ask you to scratch my ears as I can't quite do it myself. I love playing with other dogs at the dog park and in the neighbourhood but I prefer to be with just my human when I'm at home. I tend to ignore cats as long as they don`t bother me. Kids are especially fun if they are old enough to know how to treat me well and give me lots of pets. I am extremely adaptable and very trusting right off the bat, which is rare in a dog that has been through so much! My past is still a mystery, but spending some time in Canada has already opened up my world.  I am so happy to be healthy and am trying to shed a little weight. I've heard my face is adorable and I can make humans laugh with my little pig-like snorts when I stretch. Yup, I'm really quite the character! Ok, I do sometimes snore... but it is the cutest thing ever. With my health in-check, I'm now learning about toys and how much fun they are: https://youtu.be/-KBzykd_RF0. My two main ways of moving myself around, (and I must say I'm pretty darn good at it!) are either dragging on my side/hip or pulling myself forwards in a sort of 'hopping' motion with my legs behind me. I can get some serious speed this way! I like having some rugs to walk on as it can be hard to get a grip on slippy floors. Also, how many dogs do you know that come with their own wheels?! I do...and wow, can I cover ground when I'm rolling down the sidewalk or grass! It would be nice (but not essential) if I had a yard, or at least some safe space/grass, for me to maneuver outside out of my wheelchair. I am able to toilet independently when in motion, I'd love to have access to a safe space to roam. My foster mom currently toilets me frequently during the day to avoid accidents; I am getting much better at letting her know when I need to go. We have a pretty good routine and with your support my infrequent accidents can be managed/avoided. My current foster mom will fill you in on how marvelous I am and how easy it is to guide me through my daily routines. If you want a spunky small gal with a zest for life and an infectious optimism, I'm the one for you! I would LOVE to meet you!! I have been spayed and am currently vaccinated & micro-chipped.My adoption fee is by donation. Story
Hi there! My name is Bryce, and I have quite the story to tell.   Breed: Alaskan MalamuteAge: 4 yearsGender: Male    Weight: 73 lbHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, rarely barks, no escape tendency I was found wondering the streets and ended up in a city pound as a stray. Despite having a microchip, no one came to claim me, and I was at risk of being euthanized. Thankfully, I was saved and brought to a shelter, but unfortunately, I've been there for over a year without finding a family to call my own. Living in Korea's hot and humid summers hasn't been easy for me as a Malamute. I'm really hoping to find a home where I can be comfortable and happy. I'm not shy at all when it comes to meeting new people. In fact, I love it when strangers pet me and give me belly rubs. I'm a big fan of scratches and don't mind being brushed. Just be prepared for some shedding! I get along well with other dogs, regardless of their size. I've been living with 30-40 dogs at the shelter, so I'm used to being around many furry friends. However, I haven't had the chance to meet a cat yet, so I'm not sure how I would react. I have a moderate energy level and enjoy outdoor activities. I walk well on a leash and am confident in urban environments. Sudden noises and car rides don't scare me at all. In fact, I absolutely love car rides and enjoy looking out the window, feeling the wind on my face. I want to assure you that I haven't shown any signs of aggression. However, I do have a little possessive behavior when it comes to certain things. Sometimes, I won't let go of something I have in my mouth. But don't worry, the shelter is working on this with me, and it's recommended to continue "leave it" training after adoption. I don't have separation anxiety and rarely bark. You won't have to worry about me trying to escape either. I am crate-trained, but I haven't been housetrained yet since I haven't had the chance to live in a home. With a little patience and guidance, I'm sure I'll catch on quickly. I'm just a lovable Malamute looking for a family to call my own. If you're ready to give me the love and care I deserve, please consider adopting me. I promise to be a loyal and affectionate companion for life. Story
Hello there! My name is Aleck, and I have an incredible story to share with you. Rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea in 2021, I narrowly escaped a life of unimaginable hardship. Now, I'm ready to embark on a new chapter filled with love, joy, and endless tail wags. Here's a little more about me: Breed: Jindo mixAge: 5 yearsGender: male    Weight: 51 lbHighlight(s): Calm, Happy, Rarely Bark Despite the challenges I've faced in the past, my heart is full of love for humans. I'm a social pup who isn't shy around strangers - in fact, I quickly warm up to new faces and love making new friends. Even at the vet, I approached the nurses with confidence, eagerly accepting treats and showing off my friendly personality. I've been staying in a foster home since last March, and let me tell you, I've settled into home life perfectly. I'm completely house-trained and have no issues with separation anxiety. When my foster mom goes to work, I patiently wait for her to come back so we can go on our walks and have fun together. Whether it's a cozy condo or a spacious house, I know I'll fit right in and make myself at home. I get along well with other dogs, especially with gentle female pups. While I may be a bit reserved around male dogs, I'm friendly and enjoy saying hi and sharing space with my furry friends. I'm not much of a wrestler, but I love exploring the world and going for walks. I get so excited about our outdoor adventures that I voluntarily hop into the car because I know it means more fun times ahead. Recently, I even got to dip my paws into the sea water for the first time - what a thrilling experience! I do have a strong prey drive, so it's important to keep me leashed and away from cats, squirrels, and bunnies during our walks to keep everyone safe. I'm looking for a loving and understanding forever home where I can continue to heal and thrive. If you're an experienced pet owner who can provide a secure environment and help me manage my prey drive, I think we could be the perfect match. Let's shower each other with affection and create lasting memories together. I can't wait to find my forever family - could it be with you? Let's find out! Energy Level: I have a moderate energy level. I'm very calm at home. I like to chill out or take a nap. It doesn't mean I don't like walks. I love walks! I'm not nervous in new areas. I'm curious and adventurous. I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: No Kids: Yes Fears: Unknown/none observed. URGENT! Due to a new law enacted in my country, the rescuers can't retain the refuge, so all us dogs need homes before the end of the year. Please help. Good day. I'm ELLA (Bella) and here is some info about me:Breed: Golden Retriever/Labrador mix (Austrian Pinscher/Lab)Age: 1 year oldGender: FemaleWeight: 44 lbsHeight: bit under 24 inchesCountry of origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlights: Friendly, playful, timid, cautious, sweet, quiet I'm a playful girl, who is still just a puppy at heart. You'll find I am a loyal pup, who just needs time to bond.Rescued from a forest outside a major city, I was with my friend, Taylor (also posted), who had a severed tail. The rest of my litter and my mother were seen in the vicinity, but they were frightened and ran away. I stayed by Taylor’s side for protection, so was the only puppy rescued from my family. Come to find out we are half sisters. Same momma, different daddy. We were taken to the vet clinic, where I was treated for malnutrition and basic care. Once we were stable, we were transported to our rescuers facility where we began our path to recovery.Taylor and I tend to sit on the sidelines when there are activities and games with the other shelter dogs. The boisterous, young labbies are a bit much and bully us a bit, since we are passively vulnerable yet. We have separate playtime and sleeping areas from them thankfully.I am a bit more active and playful than Taylor. Taylor sleeps on a small sofa, whils they give me a blanket to sleep on the floor, because I pull the stuffing out of dog beds and cushions. I likely do this either because I am still in my puppy stage, or it could be in reaction to the overcrowded environment at the refuge. Iimagine time in a relaxed home of my own will end up alleviating that. While a bit timid yet, I am playful with Taylor and small or older dogs, though occasionally I will nip at a smaller dog. I hardly ever bark. I too am a little wary of unfamiliar humans and dogs yet and will run away if pursued. I would do best with non intimidating dogs. I am currently in progress on leash training. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##2093407##
