Story
I will be arriving to Vancouver Mid-Sept. Greetings everyone. My name is ZAHARA and here is a little info about me:Breed: Viszla/Dachshund mixAge: 3 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 28 lbsCountry of origin: MexicoHighlight(s):  Energetic, Daring, Outgoing, Brave Gang way, here I come. Looking for fun times and lovely living in Canada.I was given away by my original owner, who is a travel nurse and had to relocate. My new home didn’t treat me well; I wasn’t fed well and was tied down all day and all night long. I ended up being malnourished and was dumped at the local marketplace. The local rescue staff was contacted by the shop vendor and they took me in two years ago.I am a tough as nails pup, super loving and playful. I have super high energy, making me a great activity companion. I am perfect as an outdoors dog. I have a good nose, run super fast, and would love to go on hikes in the Pacific Northwest. I have been well leash trained. Maybe scent work is in my future... agility? flyball? tracking? Frisbee? I'm sure there are all sorts of sports out there we could do together. Maybe you are a runner needing that friend to pace you. Or a swimmer who wants a paddling buddy.Let's find what suits us and go for it. I'm brave and daring, are you?Being an outgoing girlie, I will do well being in your social circle. I get along withe other dogs too. My rescuer states I am good with kitties as I interacted well with them around the ranch and good with kids, as well. No vids for either of these yet though. I lived in a home for a few months so know about waiting to go potty. It has been a little while, so a refresher about it would be good. An additional note, my rescuer says I have tremendous leadership skills as I was the dog they used to introduce new dogs to the ranch. How's that for all around experience?I am just hoping for an active family. Preferbly with a yard, but if we get out enough, that isn't a requirement.Vids to come. Energy Level: highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown, rescuer states yes, but no video proof yetKids: unknown, rescuer states yes, but no video proof yet Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home! Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered & vaccinated and LAL will pay for my microchip after arrival. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2504724##

Story
Hello! My name is Ranya, and here is a little info about me:Breed: Border Collie mixedAge: 3 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 22 kgCountry of origin: LebanonHighlight(s): Gentle, loving, calm, and endlessly affectionate I’m Ranya — a soft-hearted girl with the sweetest eyes and an even sweeter soul. I love cuddles, treats, and being close to people who care about me. I was found in a remote area, all alone but still clean and calm. No one knew where I came from, and I couldn’t tell my story, but it was clear I once had someone who loved me — until suddenly, they didn’t. Even then, I never gave up. I still wagged my tail, approached people with trust, and hoped someone kind would find me. Luckily, my rescuer found me just in time before the cold nights left me hungry and weak. I’m friendly, affectionate, playful, gentle, and social. I adore people, dogs, and kids alike. I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by love — cuddles and treats make my day! I’d love a warm, caring home with people who enjoy affection as much as I do. A family or individual who can include me in their daily life and give me the love and comfort I’ve always longed for would be perfect. Story
Hello there! My name is Aleck, and I have an incredible story to share with you. Rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea in 2021, I narrowly escaped a life of unimaginable hardship. Now, I'm ready to embark on a new chapter filled with love, joy, and endless tail wags. Here's a little more about me: Breed: Jindo mixAge: 6 yearsGender: male    Weight: 51 lbHighlight(s): Calm, Happy, Rarely Bark Despite the challenges I've faced in the past, my heart is full of love for humans. I'm a social pup who isn't shy around strangers - in fact, I quickly warm up to new faces and love making new friends. Even at the vet, I approached the nurses with confidence, eagerly accepting treats and showing off my friendly personality. I've been staying in a foster home since last March, and let me tell you, I've settled into home life perfectly. I'm completely house-trained and have no issues with separation anxiety. When my foster mom goes to work, I patiently wait for her to come back so we can go on our walks and have fun together. Whether it's a cozy condo or a spacious house, I know I'll fit right in and make myself at home. I get along well with other dogs, especially with gentle female pups. While I may be a bit reserved around male dogs, I'm friendly and enjoy saying hi and sharing space with my furry friends. I'm not much of a wrestler, but I love exploring the world and going for walks. I get so excited about our outdoor adventures that I voluntarily hop into the car because I know it means more fun times ahead. Recently, I even got to dip my paws into the sea water for the first time - what a thrilling experience! I do have a strong prey drive, so it's important to keep me leashed and away from cats, squirrels, and bunnies during our walks to keep everyone safe. I'm looking for a loving and understanding forever home where I can continue to heal and thrive. If you're an experienced pet owner who can provide a secure environment and help me manage my prey drive, I think we could be the perfect match. Let's shower each other with affection and create lasting memories together. I can't wait to find my forever family - could it be with you? Let's find out! Energy Level: I have a moderate energy level. I'm very calm at home. I like to chill out or take a nap. It doesn't mean I don't like walks. I love walks! I'm not nervous in new areas. I'm curious and adventurous. I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: No Kids: Yes Fears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. I haven't shown any signs of separation anxiety and I don't have escape tendency. Leash skills: Yes. Story
Hi there, I'm Cumin! Here is a little info about me: Breed: Jindo/Shari-Pei MixAge: 3 yearsGender: Male    Weight: 75 lbHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, rarely bark, no escape tendency, no sign of aggression  My journey began in a city pound when I was just a tiny 2-week-old puppy, alongside my mom and siblings. We were lucky to have a young and caring mom who raised us all to be healthy and happy pups. I inherited a bright and friendly personality from her, and I love playing with my friends and toys. I'm a gentle soul who enjoys the company of others. If I find a special toy, I like to have some quiet time to play with it in a cozy corner. I get along well with other dogs, and I'm always up for a good play session. While I haven't met any cats yet, I'm open to making new feline friends. I have a moderate energy level, so I enjoy outdoor activities but also appreciate some calm relaxation time at home. I may be a bit unsure and scared when it comes to new experiences like walks, but with the right family to guide me, I know I can learn to enjoy exploring the world around me. I haven't shown any signs of aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, or escape tendencies. And while I'm not housetrained just yet, I'm eager to learn and please my new family. If you're looking for a sweet and kind companion to join your family, I could be the perfect match for you. I promise to bring lots of love, joy, and tail wags into your life. Let's create some wonderful memories together! My name is Sorme, and here is a little info about me:Breed: Shepard mix (possibly Indian Pariah/German Shepherd mix)Age: 2 1/2 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 26 kgHeight: 20 inches Country of origin: Middle EastHighlight(s): Sweet, obedient, great with kids and dogs, fast learner A little about me:Hello, my name is Sorme! I’m a sunshine soul with big ears and a bigger heart! I love cuddles, treats, and learning new things that make you smile. I was found as a tiny, frightened puppy wandering the streets of the Middle East—hungry, alone, and unsure of the world around me. I didn’t know what love felt like… until kind humans took me in, gave me warmth, safety, and the care I desperately needed. Now, I’m ready to share all the love I’ve been saving up with my forever family. I’m very friendly, obedient, and a fast learner. I love people and other dogs, especially kids who like to play! I’m eager to please and always up for a game or a cuddle. My heart is full of trust and joy—I just need a loving home to give it to. I'd do well in a home that enjoys companionship and is looking for a smart, affectionate dog. If you have other pups or kids, I’ll fit right in. I haven’t met cats yet, so I’m not sure about them, but I’m open to new friends!More About Me: Energy Level: Moderate to High —I love walks, playtime, and learning tricks, but I’m also happy to relax near you after a good day. I Get Along With: Dogs: Yes! I love doggy friends. Cats: Unknown – I haven’t met any yet. Kids: Unknown – Yes! Fears: None observed, but please be patient as I adjust to my new environment. I promise to blossom with your love. Training: Leash skills: Yes, but please continue to guide me in my new home.House trained: Yes but please continue to guide me in my new home. Health Notes:I am healthy and ready to go!I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is 800 CAD plus applicable taxes. Due to the present confrontational Middle East environment where this dog resides, airlines are minimally operating. He/She may therefore be delayed in arriving to Canada. He/She will eventually be sent, but we have no specified timeframe at this moment. If you are willing to wait, we and this dog appreciate your patience. Most passengers from the Middle East now require a fee to accompany a dog on a flight. Due to this, if a rescuer finds a flight with this requirement, we will contact you to see if you are willing to pay the passenger. You are under no obligation to do this. If not, another flight will need to be searched for, though there is no guarantee a free or lower cost one will be found. Though oft times a passenger is requesting higher amounts, the fee will not exceed $250. Our rescuers work extremely hard finding flights and spend tremendous amounts of money caring for and sending these dogs to safety. They simply haven't the extra money to cover this. Thank you for your understanding. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.
