But we think she's still a young girl at around 18 months. She may be young, but shes not bringing that crazy puppy energy-- which we love. So, do you want a young girl who is gentle, calm, and ready to be yours? Well Roxy the little old soul is here waiting for you. Roxy is an absolute queen on leash. She is very tolerant too, letting us touch her cute little feets and big ole ears. This is important because it shows us how she will be at future veterinary appointments. She tandem walks well with her foster siblings too! Her favorite toy is her hot pink dinosaur stuffy, she wont destroy it at all! If her foster siblings are playing she wont try to steal either. We believe this girl could fit in with a pack or be perfectly content being your one and only pretty princess. As far as manners go, this girl has plenty. She will not get on the couch unless shes invited, even though she loves it. HEr foster mom says she is "absolute love" and just aims to please. Meet River Skye 🌊 a two-year-old rescue mystery (possibly German Shepherd/Lab, possibly a whimsical forest creature) who is equal parts calm, cute, and completely enchanting. First, we must discuss the teefers. River Skye’s adorable little underbite means her tiny teeth are always peeking out, giving her the sweetest, slightly goofy smile that could melt even the coldest heart. Add in her stunning golden eyes and perfectly floppy, mismatched ears, and she’s an absolute showstopper. She’s the kind of dog people stop mid-sentence to admire. At home, River Skye is a total angel baby. Her fosters describe her as calm, easygoing, and wonderfully relaxed. She loves long naps, cozy lounging, and being near her people, she’s not demanding, just happily existing by your side. She’s crate trained, settles beautifully, and is an excellent car rider who sleeps through the entire ride, making her an ideal adventure buddy for errands, road trips, and low-key outings. She loves playing with other dogs and especially enjoys romping with her foster siblings, including her best friend, a big ol’ Great Pyrenees. Her play style is goofy and animated, complete with adorable grumbles and funny little noises that turn playtime into pure entertainment. She’s treat-motivated, enjoys learning, and her foster family is helping her polish her leash skills at her own thoughtful pace. River Skye currently lives with cats in her foster home and has done well. She is respectful and calm with them, though once she’s comfortable she may show a little playful curiosity. Because of this, calm, avoidant, or dog-savvy cats would be the best match for her. She also passed a cat test with another house cat, where they exchanged polite sniffs and then went about their business. To make sure everyone is happy, we’d love to do an in-home or overnight cat trial for any potential feline siblings. River Skye absolutely adores her people. She’s affectionate, loyal, and deeply bonded to her humans. She can be perfectly happy as an only pup soaking up all the love, or she’d enjoy having a dog friend to nap and play with. NOW FOSTERED IN Topsham, ME Love a dog with personality? A big-hearted, ball-chasing, couch-cuddling, zoomie-having goofball who thinks she’s a lap dog? Meet Cupcake - a sweet name for a girl with an appetite for fun. Cupcake is that lovable friend who always brings the sunshine to the party. One of my favorite things about her is the way she plays with a tennis ball! She’ll toss a tennis ball around like some kind of circus act, catch it in the air, then promptly hop up on the couch and roll around with her ball. If you happen to be sitting there then even better, she is going to melt into your lap, with the full weight of a 53-pound cuddlebug, all while still while holding that ball in her mouth. Affectionate doesn’t even begin to cover it. She’ll lean in for pets, climb into your lap on the couch, and gently nudge your hand just to say “Hey! You. I love you.” Take a look at her video, you'll see what we mean. https://youtu.be/MEiYn6r0_Dg Still in her teenage dog years, Cupcake is learning the ropes of balancing her fun-loving side with the polite life. She has been trained on a gentle leader leash, which she walks well with. Without a gentle leader she does pull but this can be addressed with practice or continuing to utilize the gentle leader. Cupcake can let her excitement show while on leash when passing dogs and people, but it’s all out of excitement, not aggression. She just wants to meet everybody, and she hasn’t quite learned how to channel that enthusiasm yet. Yet is the key word! Cupcake is super dog-friendly and loves to play, especially with dogs who match her energy. She greets with full-body wiggles but she can read when a dog is not interested in playing and backs off. One of her best friends is a dog named Bambi, a petite, long legged little lady, and the two of them roll around like a couple of happy toddlers in the backyard. She responds well to gentle corrections and is eager to please her humans. So yes to dogs but it’ll be no cats in the home for Cupcake. We anticipate her love of chase would not stop with cats once she feels comfortable. She would make a wonderful family dog, older kids who won’t mind her bouncy greetings and occasional nudges and mouthy “hello’s.” Cupcake has been fully kid tested, even spending a weekend with some kiddos! She loved everyone in the house, but you could always find her with the kiddos. She’s just a natural! The kids loves cupcake too, playing with her, sharing the same seat with her, watching movies together, sharing snacks— you name it, they had a blast doing it. A house with a yard would be the best fit for her ball-chasing and bouncing around with her new doggie friend or racing the kids. **Now fostered in Bothell, WA** Flynn is an almost 6-month-old Australian Shepherd/Pittie mix (we think! It's always a guess with rescue) with velvet-soft white fur and tan splotches that make him look as sweet as he truly is. At about 25 pounds, this little guy has the perfect balance of playful energy and cuddle-bug charm. Flynn is currently fostered with his brother (also available for adoption!), two other dogs, and two kids—and he’s doing wonderfully with them all. He loves to romp around with his doggy friends and play with the kids, then happily curl up for a snuggle session afterward. Flynn hasn't shown any fear when experiencing new things like Halloween costumes and would make a great dog to take everywhere. Flynn loves to pose for the camera and even enjoys going to work with his foster dad and mom. He's a great sounding board but will sleep on the job. He recently had some fun meeting Santa and riding a boat with his foster family! He’s 100% potty trained and is crate trained. Flynn will need thrive in a family committed to continuing his training and socialization. Another dog in home (ideally a few years older) to help show him proper doggy manners and learn from would be a great fit. Big ears, bigger heart, and BEST personality. Atlanta Peaches is the literal definition of happiness! Oh my goodness, is she happy all the time and has the ability to make every single person around her smile. Her ears do too LOL which are my personal favorite thing about her. Atlanta is more than just happy all the time, she is incredibly smart, loyal, dog friendly, loves every person that she meets, and so entertaining to watch when she plays with toys. She is a beautiful blend of fun and snuggles. She will literally use your foot as it dangles while you work to give herself extra affection. You can say her love language is all physical touch! It also doesn't take much to make her happy! She radiates with happiness and just wants to be with her people. People are her happy place. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. One thing is a guarantee with Atlanta is that she is bursting at the seems with love and happinesses that it's contagious. Atlanta dog friendly and has been around a variety of different dogs all with different personalities and temperaments. She is not the playful type with other dogs and is more of a relaxed hangout type of girly that prefers to get attention from people. She is happy to be around dogs that have the same cool, calm, collected tempo as her. Atlanta also appreciates being around dogs that give her space at the beginning to get to know them first. She's a polite and respectful gal that likes for the same energy to be reciprocated. Once’s she’s comfortable, she does the cutest little play bows and loves to zoom around with her new friend in light hearted games of chase. In a home, she would do best with a mellow male dog that enjoys the company of other dogs and isn't looking for a playmate, only looking for company. She'll be perfect for that! Atlanta also does not need another dog in the home, so no worries there if you don't have a dog. She is so loving and affectionate that she has enough love to give that is equivalent to 3 dogs combined. She's something special! Atlanta would also do best in a home with no cats as she was a little too interested in our house cat Biggie. When it comes to training, Atlanta is ready and eager to learn! She loves treats and already knows a few basic commands such a sit and I'm fairly certain she has the foundation of already knowing how to sit pretty. You could probably even teach her how to dance too LOL. Atlanta is fairly easy to walk on a leash and only pulls every so often. Mainly, she'll pull towards something that smells yummy or interesting or she'll want pull towards someone to say hello to. Atlanta really does love every she meets! She responds well to correction and with consistency and practice she'll be walking like a queen on leash. Atlanta has wonderful house manners and is crate and potty trained. Atlanta will thrive with a semi-active family that enjoys frequent outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, going to the beach or even casual play time in the yard. A family or individual who appreciates nature and is ready to explore parks, trails, or snowy landscapes would be perfect. While she loves the great outdoors and loves to explore, Atlanta is also an affectionate gal at home and loves to burry her head into you for love. If you enjoy the outdoors but also cherish time spent relaxing indoors, Atlanta is the perfect fit. She would also do best in a home with a backyard as well. A place where she can stretch her legs, check out all of her favorite sniff spots, and roll around in the grass and sunbathe during those beautiful summer days. Meet Pixie People Lover! Pixie is a little under three years old and is believed to be a Pit Bull / Bull Terrier–type mix (rescue mystery, of course). What she is without question is adorable, affectionate, and absolutely full of life. She’s got the cutest floppy ears ever, one spotted, one solid, that fold and bounce depending on her mood, a tiny curl at the end of her tail with a little white tip, and that big ol’ pittie smile that makes it impossible not to grin back at her. Pixie is truly joy on legs. Pixie loves people. Like, really loves them. She’s the kind of dog who happily walks right up to say hi, asks for pets, leans in for cuddles, and wants to be near her humans as much as possible. Booty scratches? Yes please. Couch naps? Her favorite. Hugs? Absolutely. She’s social, affectionate, and would do great in a home that enjoys having visitors because Pixie thinks everyone is her friend. Toys are her jam — stuffies, balls, tug toys, chew toys… she loves them all. She’ll play fetch with you, tug like a champ, or zoom around the yard entertaining herself when the mood strikes. She’s got a fun, bouncy energy but also knows how to settle and enjoy a good, long nap once she’s had her outlets. Pixie walks nicely on a gentle leader, which helps her stay grounded when exciting things pop up on walks. She can get a little amped at first (maybe sharing a few words with other pups on walks across the street), but she learns quickly and continues to improve as she works on checking in with her handler and staying focused. She enjoys being active and does best with regular exercise and a bit of structure, it helps her shine! She even went to a board and train where she made leaps and bounds going on pack walks and learning to stay neutral! Dog-wise, Pixie is selective. She can be playful with certain goofy, easygoing dogs and enjoys social time in the right settings, but she doesn’t want to share her home. Pixie would be happiest as your one-and-only pup, soaking up all the attention and not having to worry about managing other dogs full-time. And no kitties for this girl, way too tiny and fun to chase! Pixie has not officially been kid tested or been around kids much! So for now we’re guessing she’d be happiest with 10 and up! However with her people loving nature, we assume she’d be an amazing family dog! Pixie is looking for a rural home (no busy city life) with an experienced, confident handler who enjoys being involved, going on walks, and continuing her training in a positive, structured way. She’d love a yard to zoom in, a couch to nap on, and humans who want a loyal shadow with a big heart and a silly streak. Pixie thrives on companionship and connection and would be happiest in a home where she’s included in daily life and never feels like she’s missing out.
